“Justice for Anria”
« on: August 20, 2014, 02:42:58 pm »
i am just so saddened by this news that i read yesterday in Yahoo! Ph
and there are comments from netizens saying they want to bring back death penalty here in PH
this is very inhuman :( how can we protect ourselves from this criminals

below is the latest article posted on yahoo.ph and the development of the investigation

Probers eye 4 rapists in Anria murder; 3 suspects questioned

Calumpit, Bulacan — “Justice for Anria” shout-outs on social networking site, Facebook, grew by the thousands yesterday as homicide investigators here revealed that four men might have raped and killed the pretty 26-year-old bachelorette, whose body was dumped in a rice field.
A member of “Task Force for Anria,” formed by the Calumpit Municipal Police Station (MPS) to solve the rape-slaying of Anria Galang Espiritu, said forensics investigators took four sets of semen for laboratory examination from the victim’s female organ.
It will be recalled that Anria’s body was found face down, floating in a rice paddy in Barangay Sapang Bayan, here, last Sunday, with stab wounds in her body.
The Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives (SOCO) team found a screw driver, long iron chain and the victim’s underwear in the vicinity of the crime scene.
Last Monday, a 45-year-old jeepney driver Elmer Joson, and two other suspects, were invited for questioning by investigators.
Later the same day, Joson and his wife visited Anria’s wake in Barangay Iba Este, here, telling her family that she boarded his jeepney in Cabanas, Malolos City, in the wee hours of Thursday morning (August 14). He denied any part in the crime.
Superintendent Ophelio Dakila Concina Jr., chief of police, said Joson had scratches in the neck and back, which he claimed were inflicted by his wife when they had a marital spat recently.

Sobrang nakakatakot na talaga ang panahon ngayon lalo na sa ating mga babae. Sana girls will also help protect themselves. I browsed her pics in fb, naku matitiktikan naman talaga ito.

^^True that. Medyo revealing din talaga siya manamit. So siguro that night nang pauwi siya, sino ba naman ang hindi mapapalingon. Maputi, sexy...

Pero still that's not enough reason for men to rape. The men behind this really deserves death penalty.. no wait, they should be tortured first before experiencing death.

While it's true that it's not a reason for men to rape women just because they wear revealing clothes in public, as women, we should also be extra cautious and careful of ourselves because of the current crime rate. Kumbaga, diba nga alam naman natin na para mas konti chances mong ma-hold up/ma-snatchan, dapat wag ka mag-display ng jewelry or gumamit ng gadgets while walking or in public transportation. IMO, ganon din yan sa pananamit. We have to admit that we CAN NOT control other people's actions and intentions but we CAN do something about things we can control like taking extra precautions and not attracting unwanted attention.

Whatever I want, I get. If I can't, I don't stop TRYING.

^True. We need to be extra careful.

Sana man lang hinatid nung guy si anria hanggang bahay to think its almost 1am na. Delikado na umuwi ng ganung oras sa pinas at lalo na kapag medyo lasing ang babae

I hope we can live in a society where women can dress whatever they want and they won't be harassed about it. IMO no dress is too revealing to warrant such crime. Hindi porke sexy ka manamit e you're asking for it. Men should be educated as well to respect women.

The problem now is that bad people have become too courageous to do their crime. Gone are the days when they would sneak out at night and lurk in the shadows. Now they shoot, rape, kill, etc in broad daylight complete with a full audience of witnesses. Hinde na sila takot. And yan ang mas nakakatakot.
Whatever I want, I get. If I can't, I don't stop TRYING.

i agree. hindi dapat naka base ang treatment sa isang babae sa kung pano sya manamit. but its not a perfect world. halang ang kaluluwa nung mga gumawa neto. kagaya ng ipinaglalaban ni emma watson, mga lalake din dapat ang magtaguyod sa karapatan ng babae. and dressing whatever we feel suits us and uplifts our confidence without the fear na mabastos or madelikado is something na hopefully, ma achieve in the near future. #heforshe

last time a read in the FB page, her father also died na. so, grabe ang pinagdadaanan ng family. hopefully, sa ganito kalalang krimen, and sa binigay na exposure ng media, gumalaw ang wheels of justice. haayyy. nakakatakot na talaga.

This case was featured in imbestigador. The suspects are now in jail.

Poor girl she increased her chance of getting raped.

Might help if women learn so basic self-defense moves. Or, always bring good quality pepper spray with you at all times, but make sure you know how to use it first. Even a simple whistle might help to call attention when there's trouble. Best move though is not to take unnecessary risks and let a relative or close friend know where you are regularly.
