Passport Thread 10 (Check 1st page for DFA links)

^sis ever since naman talagang by appointment ang regular passport application/renewals. Ang no need for appointment yung sa courtesy lane facility for government employees (including dependents), SC, PWD, infants, pregnant women.

If you haven't set an appointment yet, the best time to get is the first slot in the morning. Mabilis lang (wala pa akong one hour nag-process). Kasi as the day goes on domino effect na so expect mo pahaba na ng pahaba ang antay.

Does anyone know the procedure for the recently announced extension of passport validity? Kailangan ba may appointment? Read the news sa GMA Online & Rappler pero I can't find details on how to go about it. Thanks

^Hay naku, nuung nag-apply ako last July. Binanggit ko yan kasi may flight ako Aug. 30. Hindi ako sinagot as sinabing i-express ko na lang.

my passport kasi will expire august2016, i will travel this november.. need ko na ba sya irenew?

Kaloka till October pa lang available schedule.. Try ko na lang ulit sa September or October baka December available na.

As for the passport extension, sabi ng friend ko sinabi lang nya na may travel sya on a said date, pinakita nya yung tickets nya then pinapunta sya sa consular. Free naman daw yung pagextend ng passport

Left house at 9am.
Arrived at DFA around 10:20
Told I'll be at 12 nn
got assisted at 11:30.Finished with everything 12:30

It wasnt as bad as I thought ^^ or maybe I had fun coz I saw someone I knew there and chika2 kami.. hehe
sayang nagload pa naman ako ng vids to watch sa phone ko..di ko napanood.

Now, its just time to wait =_= 30 working days plus 2 weeks =____= Gross estimate is in October. Conservative estimate 3rd week October.

Kanina nagtry na ako pa sched for December sa Megamall, till October pa lang tinatanggap nila eh. So try ako pa sched maybe mga last week ng September

Not required to change surname sa passport. You may wait pag due for renewal na passport mo. You may also opt to retain maiden surname sa passport.

oh I forgot to share.Sure,mine was renewal only.
I brought a lot but they only took
one photocopy back to back ID. PRC Nurse license.
One photocopy of my barangay clearance.
One photocopy of the 1st page and last page of passport.

I have a tip also for those who are applying the first time, check the quality of your originals. My kasama was rejected because of unclear/damaged original. ^^ But she already spent 2 hours waiting. Wear something breathable and light because walang AC outside of DFA Cebu kahit nasa mall siya.

And all the originals, I brought as well. They will check it! I did organize everything like "Ito lahat originals" ito lahat photocopies in the same order. It took, 1 min lahat or 2. What takes a lot of time talaga is waiting because andami tao..but kudos to DFA Cebu sooo organized! I was really expecting it to be horrible like most government establishments.. haha


No questions asked except during picture taking and encoding. They do check bags intensively but they just let me in. also, while in line..prepare requirements..hindi na nasa window and jan paka maghanap ng requirements -_-

I arrived 10 something..so many people. You're better off arriving in the afternoon, seriously.. for DFA Cebu. The only ones clogging the line are the ones with questionable requirements or andami requests and demands. ._.

Please also be responsible enough to photocopy the requirements (and the ID).. mga sis, dont be that person who got in DFA and goes out just to photocopy..and maginsert ka ulit or nasa window kana..its delaying everyone else =_=

Also, dont wear earrings, take pictures of the "info" you need to know if in a hurry ka talaga para you can go out right away and productive ka.

Minus queue time,
siguro it would have been just have been 10-15 mins tops.

nabasa ng ulan passport ko kaya eto papa renew ako ng passport. kakalungkot lang na sa main dfa lang pwede i pa renew ang mutilated passport.

For renewal of passport madali lang naman ang requirements,

Old passport and 1 valid ID. Please take note: provide a photocopy of the info sheet of your passport, last page plus the page where the latest departure and arrival is stamped. Provide a photocopy of your ID too.

in my case, since hindi ko pa nagamit ang passport ko, just photocopied 1st and last page plus my TIN ID. Ok naman. Waiting for release na lang.

Please also note na kelangan 6 months valid ang passport mo before you book for a flight. Pag medyo alangan, renew mo na earlier pa lang to avoid problems. Pag medyo damaged na ang passport like nabasa, nasulatan, may punit etc, make sure to provide affidavit of mutilation kaagad. Mas mahal ang affidavit pag nasa dfa na. hehe

If passport renewal applicant is newly married and gusto na agad iparenew to change from single to married, just add an NSO marriage contract plus yung copy galing sa munisipyo. Palagi pong hinihingi ni dfa ang copy from the LCR lalo na kapag malabo ang mga NSO.

for renewal na nawala ang passport, considered as new applicant na po eto plus need to provide pa ng affidavit of loss, kung valid pa ang passport ,add police report. mas matagal ang process since may 15 working days clearing period pa before maka personal appearance for biometrics and picture.

^ when i changed from maiden to married surname, NSO marriage cert lang binigay ko, di ako hinanapan ng LCR certified true copy.

For Married Women:

Marriage Contract (MC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) OR original and photocopy of the Certified True Copy (CTC) of MC issued by the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) and duly authenticated by NSO. Transcribed Marriage Contract from the LCR is required when entries in NSO Marriage Contract are blurred or unreadable.
Report of Marriage duly authenticated by NSO if married abroad.

yes po NSO marriage lang ang usually na nirerequire, pero pag malabo need ng sa LCR. Lalo na pag natapat pa sa processor na medyo mahigpit.

LIST OF SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS (At least 3 of the following):

• Voter’s ID
  NSO Marriage Contract
  Land Title
  Seaman’s Book
  Elementary or High School Form 137 or Transcript of Records with readable dry seal
  Government Service Record
  NBI Clearance
  Police Clearance
  Barangay Clearance
  Old documents issued at least one year prior to date of application that show correct name, date and

place of birth, picture and signature of applicant such as the following:
NSO Birth Certificate of child / children
SSS-E1 Form or Microfilmed Copy of SSS-E1 Form
Income Tax Return
Voter’s Certification, List of Voters and Voter’s Registration Record (for newly issued VRR, please attach receipt)
School Yearbook
Community Tax Certificate


yung naka underline ang meron ako, pwede na ba yun? bali dalawa mag fall under old documents? kala ko kasi I'm prepared and sa friday na appointment namin ngayon ako nag dalawang isip kasi it falls under one bullet?

^ sis, you can go sa NSO in East Ave in the morning, you can get NSO birth and marriage certificates on the same day.

pa join po mga sis, ask ko lang kung mag naissue-han na ng bagong passport design?
sa Nov 30 ang alis namin pero April 2016 na ang expiry ng Passport namin.. sabi kasi dapat daw 6 months valid ang passport upon departure.. sayang naman kasi kung next year ay babaguhin na ang design baka pwede na lang kame magpa extend muna tapos by next year na lang kame mag renew..
any advice?? TIA..
