Oh if you're an ofw baka nga they will allow you. But i am not that certain. Baka you can apply for extension instead?
My dad went to DFA Aseana on a Monday, told them his sister died. He's a senior citizen plus a government official so he gets prioritized sa line. Anyway they told him they needed documents to prove his sister died when he claims his passport.He claimed his passport Friday that same week, around 4pm or 5pm. He was so tensed nga that he wont be able to get it. His flight flight was at 10pm. Our passports pala comes from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, kasi the paper is printed there pa so its really not that easy to make a passport.

Thanks for the info, sis vain_kixie. We will definitely visit DFA Aseana first thing in the morning on 2 July. I read that OFWs can go to the courtesy lane and my only deep concern is that if they can issue the passports before we leave the country.

I'm not sure if e-passports (we are both holding e-passports already) can be extended but we will inquire when we visit DFA. When we renewed our passports in 2010 (from MRP to e-passport), we waited for freaking 6 weeks to get the new passports.  Luckily, we got just 2days before our planned out of the country travel.

I just hope everything goes well when we do our passport renewal next month in MNL. Fingers crossed!

how long does it take now to release the new passport after appointment? meron ba saturday appointment sa dfa aseana? need to renew pala our passports bago mag apply ng schengen visa....

I got my passport in 4 weeks, renew my passport at their satellite office in alabang.

^bawal po walk-in, they will not entertain you. need mo asap passport? you can call the dfa hotline and tell them you need to travel etc. or have your passport validity extended, pwede yun.

Sis Sofiameredith alam ko pag Senior at baby ang kasama wala ng appointment sa aseana kasi ang pila mo sa itaas sa may special lane na kaya diretso ka nalang pwede mo na rin isabay si daughter mo.

Tanong lang mga sis, if iaapply ko ang baby namin no need na for appointment. Pero paano if gusto ko rin mag renew pwede ba na hinde na rin ako magpa appointment at isabay na renewal ko sa application ng baby ko para isang pila na lang?

@sofiemae - i'm planning kasi sa sm manila since malapit lang sa 'min and meron sila saturdays...not sure lang kung may special lane sila dun.

^ sis, i think even sa mall e me special lane for babies. I applied for my baby's passport (less than 1yo) sa Megamall, sinabay ko na din renewal ko. We were there early, kakabukas pa lang ng DFA. Less than 30mins tapos na kami ni baby.
