For newly married couples, what would you prefer? Buying a house first or having a baby? Which is more practical?

for us, baby muna. then saka kami kuha ng house  :)

yung practicality kasi depende yan sa income niyo at kung ano ang priority ninyo mag asawa  :)

My husband and I have our own condo unit now. It's a small, one-bedroom, but we at least own it. Matatagalan pa before we can set up our own house so definitely mauuna ang baby. If we wait for a house, we'll never have a baby. I think ok lang if you don't have a house yet, as long as you have the means to raise a baby in a good environment. You can rent muna, or get a smaller place to stay. The house can follow.

Actually, for us the choice was between travel vs. baby. Hehe. We're lucky we were able to travel quite extensively on our own, as well as together, so even though there are places we still want to visit, it's easier to accept that we might have to put our travel plans on hold while we prepare for the baby.

Sa case naman namin, inuna namin ang house and its contents. Though right now, dito kami nakatira sa house ng mom ko since preggy nga ako. Yung house namin pinarent namin so may additional income pa kami.
My opinion in this if bata pa naman kayong couple, unahin nyo muna yung house, car, travelling together, and savings or investments. Enjoy your time muna together. Then if you think emotionally ready na kayo to have a baby then go ahead.
If financially kaya nyo naman na sabay eh di mas okay.

For us, house muna since OFW kami, bibili muna kami ng bahay diyan sa pinas then gawa na ng baby. mahirap kasi magkababy dito sa SG. masyadong expensive.  :o

maganda syempre kung may bahay ka na before anything. pero life isn't THAT practical for a lot of people. i think being financially stable means different things for everyone. having a baby and paying for a house simultaneously is doable as long as you can manage your finances properly and can assure being stable in the long run.

House muna for us. For me it's kinda difficult to have a baby if you do not have a place of your own or you're still renting. We're not in a hurry naman. And besides, we want to enjoy our time as husband and wife muna before the baby. :)

samin ni hubby, baby muna! kasi kung aantayin pa namin na magkabahay kami bago magbaby, eh baka magexpire na ang ovaries ko.. hahaha.. will be 30 na kasi this month. tapos umaalis pa si hubby.. so baby is definitely our priority!

depende kasi yan sa circumstances eh,  kami kasi medyo late na nag-asawa coz tinapos muna namin lahat ng training and exams namin, so inuna  na namin ang baby, although we were sure naman na once magstart kami mag-work makakaipon kami agad ng pampatayo ng bahay..nasa 30's na kami nung nagpakasal, if idedelay pa namin tapos mahirap pala ako magbuntis baka di na kami magkaron ng anak...if pareho pa kayong young ni husband, of coursse pwede mo pa idelay ang pagbubuntis :)  4 years married now and with 2 kids, we are thankful na tapos na din yung pinapagawa naming dream house namin :)

happily married here for two years...right after we got married bumili na kami ng bahay namin, pero since naka process palang sa pag-ibig nakatira kami sa inlaws ko. Plan talaga namin na bumili agad ng bahay before anything else, remembrance from sa kasal namin. This year plan na sana namin ipa improve yung bahay, yun nga lang I got pregnant so kailangan namin ipostponed ang house improvement at priority muna si baby. Yung house improvement malamang next year nalang.

Mga sis define young couple? Haha i'll be 28 once we get married and h2b will be 31. Gusto sana namin 2 years from the time na kinasal kami magkababy then i noticed na i'll be 30 by that time! Baka mahirapan makagawa ng baby or give birth

I got married in my teens, but almost done with my undergrad.  Hubby was done with MBA & had a house already (rented out).  We got gifted with a townhouse in VV5 when we got married.
I finished my MBA, then got employed while hubby left his high paying job to start our construction business.
We acquired more houses as we moved (almost every 1.5 years) and leased these out.
On our 5th anniversary, as we had planned, I stopped taking my birth control pills -- took me 6months  to get pregnant.

I'd still do the same sequence.  See, if I marry at 30 or 35, -- by then definitely, tapos na ko ng MBA, have a house and other real estate properties plus maybe, business -- so, ma gets kong hubby most probably eh "katapat".  Heck, we can start having babies on our honeymoon.

IMO, best to get financial security in place before having kids.  But what do I know of others' considerations anyway.

Everything though, is by the grace of God.  Thank you.

Ideally kasi, dapat talaga mauna muna house, savings, etc before baby. I think napaka laking bagay na financially stable kayo bago mag anak.

For us though, may house na kami even before our wedding. So after the wedding, lipat kami agad sa sarili namin bahay. Then we enjoyed muna ng kami lang for more than a year, tsaka kami nag baby.

:)

Tough one, it depends where you are in your life (age-wise, financial, etc).

Both are long term investments. So if you get a house with a 10 year loan, it wouldn't consider "owning" the house until the loan is paid off, so that would be 10 years down the line. Not everyone has the luxury of time to wait that long. Whereas if a couple married at a later age, priority may be to have a baby right away.

When we got married we rented out a condo lang. When I got preggy, MIL insisted that we buy our own place na, fortunately they helped by paying outright and we in turn pay them back. Now that I'm preggy with second baby, ILs said we don't need to pay them back any further.

lucky for us, inlaws gave us our place to stay after wedding so hindi na naging problema samin yung rents. so sumunod na agad yung baby 7months after being married. but now, i would still want to have our own house and lot. we live in a building kasi, apartment type. kaya i told hubby na isang baby nalang muna and pag ipunan naman namin na magkaron kami ng house and lot. dream ko parin yung magkaron ng sariling bahay para sa family namin. :)
