hello, i just downloaded the grabtaxi/grabcar app and there's a promo for first time user, ok naman yung code but then yung rate, it didn't say naman that I should deduct 200 from the fixed rate.  pagbabayaran ba sasabihin ko na lang sa grabcar driver na I'm using the IAMNEW code and give the fare na minus 200? tama ba?

Since hindi na pwede mag pick- up sila Uber, pwede siguro tumawid sa Resorts World for Terminal 3 then tsaka mag book. Kaso hindi ko sure kung may tawiran nga talaga dun. Baka merong may alam sa inyo diyan? Also, if you can share sa ibang terminals 1,2 & 4 baka meron pwedeng tawiran para lang hindi masabi ng MIAA na nag pick-up sila sa airport.

^ walang tawirab from T3 to RW. Pero me free shuttle yata. Di nga lang fixed ang sched. I think ang gagawin namin if ever e papasukin sa parking si Uber, we'll pay for the parking fee. As if relative namin sya na magsusundo, so perhaps we'll give him/her our flight number and kung saan kami galing, para me masagot sya in case nasita. And tago dapat muna ang gadget bago sya pumasok sa airport.

naku sis @bagaholic_chewy palagay ko hindi pwede yan kase makikita ni Uber mismo na nag pick-up si uber driver sa airport. Naka stipulate sa contract / permit ni Uber with LTFRB na hindi sila allowed mag pick-up sa airport. So, malamang nakalagay din sa contract ng Uber with their partner drivers yan. Haay... kase naman pahirap talaga ito MIAA.

So far kasi, me mga nanunundo pa naman sa airport na Uber drivers. Based sa mga nagpost sa FB group.. i guess Uber won't mind (yet?) unless LTFRB or MIAA calls their attention to it..

Another option din siguro is to take yellow taxi or shuttle bus going to Resorts World. Then doon na magbook ng Uber. Safer siguro ang ganun. Hassle lang pag mahaba pila sa yellow taxi or if wala pa ang shuttle bus.

So far, tagal ko na GrabCar user. Except for a couple of times na nahirapan ako makahanap (super rush hour, makati area), okay naman so far.

Good news for Uber users. Magkakaroon na ng free data ang Uber rides.

Naka stipulate sa contract / permit ni Uber with LTFRB na hindi sila allowed mag pick-up sa airport.

Grabe naman kasi, di ko ma-gets kung bakit bawal mag-pick up. Maiintindihan ko na bawal nung wala pang permit. Pero yung may LTFRB permit na, ini-stipulate pa rin na bawal mag-pick up sa airport. Bakit?? Eh dahil nga may permit na, shouldn't they be allowed similarly that they allow regular taxicabs? Nakakapasok naman ang regular taxicab (may official queue pa nga eh) sa Departure.

UBER EXPERIENCE:

First time I used uber was great. Free ride pala pag first time.

Second time, medyo may complication. I used uber but it was my friend who was the passenger. He was from Alabang and neede to go to Tagaytay rotonda. I checked uber if it's possible, since I know it's a bit far already. so it tried and I was happy that there was a fare estimate and there was a car available. When the uber driver picked up my friend, my friend told me that uber is within metro manila only. So I was confused. Because when I booked my trip, I had no problem. There was no indication or whatsoever that the trip isn't allowed. To make it short, my friend talked with the uber driver and they agreed to drop off at Cavite area where the ayala mall is (so my friend can ride a bus going to tagaytay).

So I sent an email to Uber and shared my experience. They apologized and sympathized with my friend's experience. Also, they said "Rides are normally only within the limits of Metro Manila, and drop-off points outside of the city limits are at the driver's discretion. It is still possible to make a trip request just like the one you did, but it is entirely up to the driver if he's willing to take you that far out of the city."

It's just weird and frustrating, kasi parang normal taxi lang sila. After booking and the uber driver arriving, bago malalaman na hindi pala pwede. Or maybe there was a fine print that I didn't read. Maybe my fault too. But if in the end, it's still "ENTIRELY UP TO THE DRIVER", then what would prevent them from being like the "normal taxis" here in Metro Manila? They might start making excuses like "oh, masyadong malayo. Hindi po pwede.



GRABTAXI:

Tried this several times for the route Pasay to Makati or Pasay to Airport. Cleanliness of cabs is a hit of miss. Sometimes, I get cabs na parang masisira na, or there are mosquitoes inside the cab.

Last I took this service was last 2 weeks. I'm from Pasay and needed to go to Malate Circle. There were no uber available, and no cabs available from grabtaxi. no cabs from the street also. so i was forced to take grabcar(sedan). fare is cheaper compared if I took the cab. Fixed rate na kasi. Plus, traffic papunta so worth it. If i took a cab, masmahal pa lumalabas.

^^ Uber drivers do not see the rider's destination upon booking. They will only see the drop-off/destination once mag-start na ang trip. This is so that hindi sila mamimili ng passengers. As long as it's within Metro Manila, hindi sila pwede tumanggi. Yan ang isang malaking difference nila vs taxi (and vs Grabcar). Usually ginagawa ng ibang riders, pag outside MM destination nila, tinatawagan or tinetext agad ang driver to tell them na outside MM ang destination. Para if ayaw ng driver, makapag-cancel agad ang rider and try book again ng another unit.

You also have to understand that if they drop-off passengers outside Metro Manila, there is a high possibility na wala sila makukuhang pasahero pabalik. And i think their LTFRB accreditation also states that Uber operations is within Metro Manila only. Meron pa din naman drivers na naghahatid outside MM, and usually passengers give extra cash to the driver for this, pangpa-consuelo kumbaga. To somehow cover for their travel time and gasoline consumption pabalik ng MM.

^^oo nga sis, hindi kasi makikita ni Uber driver ang destination. Kaya pag nagpapahatid ako outside MM (usually sa Southwoods sa Binan, Laguna), GrabTaxi kinukuha ko tapos nagbibigay ako ng tip na approximately doble ng metro kasi wala naman silang makukuhang pasahero pabalik, kawawa naman. Pati toll fee nila pabalik syempre sinasagot ko.

Kaya ako, i agree na discretion na ni Uber driver yun. Pero i think you didn't know naman kasi na hindi visible sa driver ang destination. Kawawa naman si Uber driver kung forced sila maghatid outside MM tapos one-way lang ang bayad. Kung magdadagdag si passenger para dun sa pabalik, ok lang. Otherwise, lugi naman so driver.

confirm ko lang mga sis, totoo ba na patatanggal na daw ang uber and grab? bilang madaming taxi company ang nagrereklamo. achuali sinabi lang nunf driver na na grab ko kahapon.

follow up: meron po ba dito sa inyo mga grabcar drivers or uber drivers?

^ i highly doubt it. Ngayon pa na me ltfrb accreditation na sila.

used uber last week. nagpahatid ako sa naia terminal 2 from new manila umabot ng Php 220, kapag sa nissancarrent ako nagpasundo aabot ako Php 700. And then paglapag namin sa manila nagpasundo kami sa uber, ok naman hindi nahuli. basta pasimple lang kami sumakay.

Joining. I only started riding Uber two weeks ago. Every day na ko naguuber papasok at pauwi since. Super ok -- mas mura kesa grab and mas mababait drivers kesa sa taxi drivers. Medyo matagal lang makapagbook pag papasok sa umaga, pero pauwi sobrang hassle-free.
