I think kasi di pa blessed kaya bawal?
Also kung di pa kasal, bakit suot na? May celebrity na ganon nawala yung wedding ring niya weeks before the wedding pero di sinabi bakit suot na niya agad di pa kasal.

But I've tried on my ring many times out of excitement haha sarap at nakakakilig tignan!

Nakaka-excite at nakaka-kilig diba sis!

Yes, for me, weird and awkward if you wear it before the wedding. So I won't. I asked fiance to keep it. Iwas temptation on my part (hahaha) and added kilig because of the excitement and anticipation.  :)

^we are actually already wearing our wedding rings because we are already legally married here in sg; i didn't know there was a rule not to wear them; our solemnizer had requested that we have rings when we met him to discuss our solemnization ceremony. then my husband also clarified with his brother, who studied theology and had wanted to become a catholic priest, whether our civil wedding is already recognized by the church and his brother said that the catholic church recognizes civil weddings; so since our marriage was already legal and accepted, we thought we can already wear our rings. our solemnizer is also a christian and he gave us a beautiful blessing during our solemnization, which was above and beyond what was required of him :-) ^

^Sis, you're already civilly married, so there's no problem with you wearing your bands. In our case, we're not yet married, civil or otherwise, so we can't wear our bands yet. Don't know if there's actually a "rule" prohibiting wearing thereof, but we don't want to preempt anything. Hehe. So have to wait until our wedding day. :)

^@sis belle_v2g, civilly married here also and we are going to get separate wedding bands for the church wedding. Our current ones are plain white gold wedding bands but as for the church wedding, we are planning get mas bongga ones na. Keep na namin yung civil wedding bands after ng church wedding.

That's what we did too. Our civil wedding rings are not so expensive while the church wedding rings costs a bit more.. although hindi super mahal.. just right for the price. We didn't bought the ones with diamonds.. (even if it's safe to wear them here) kasi we're gonna wear them everyday, even at work.. :) di rin particular kami ni hubby sa rings, basta meron at gusto namin design ok na. ;) I might not wear narin the civil wedding ring after the church wedding..

There's no rule on wearing wedding rings if you're already married. But from all the priests we encountered in the course of our preps, hindi nirerecognize ng simbahan ang civil wedding. It is why a church wedding is important and a must if you are a devout Catholic.

As in haaay grabe they even said it's living in sin kasi daw nagsasama ng wala pang Sacrament of Matrimony. Yung mga conventional priests lang hindi ganyan magsermon.

Before the wedding, palinis niyo na lang rings to make sure di macacapture ng PV yung mga dumi/gasgas from daily wear kung meron man hehe.

hi j.adore, it might also be a difference between filipino and american catholic priests. filipino priests tend to be really old-fashioned  :-)

yup, we will have our rings polished before the wedding. they're 22-k gold so they scratch easily but the sheen and gold color is lovely though.

the rings are really for our church wedding but because the legal requirements for getting married in the philippines are a bit prohibitive for us (seminars at city hall, certificate of freedom to marry, etc), we opted to be civilly married in sg and the solemnizer requested that we exchange rings. my husband says he likes the character of our scratched rings (we both knew our rings will scratch easily), these rings are a metaphor for our marriage. we may face trials buy we will endure :-)

Sis, how about ours? It's a civil wedding but it is officiated by a Pastor. Will they consider that as living in sin? Nagulat ako sa sinabi mo hehe :)
My hubby's uncle is a Pastor (well, everyone in their family is) at lahat nandoon during our civil wedding..  May permit sya to solemnize.

^If your hubby is not "traditional", i.e.,  he wants both of you to have identical rings, pwede naman that yours has diamonds while his can have 1 or none at all :)

I think just the type of priest regardless of nationality because there are "old school" ones tapos the rest are more contemporary.

Pet peeve ko gasgas but in my case, I did that for my e-ring naman :)
