Hi Sisses, need you help My fiance and I really want a "stacked" look for my engagement ring and the wedding band. The problem is this.. my engagement ring  has a huge base so the band wont go in flat against it. It's a 2-carat raised center kasi with a halo setting around it pa and the setting's base is exactly that wide. We consulted the jeweler where he had the e-ring made and the jeweler said any alteration to the setting would just make it uglier While I do agree that it looks nice already, we're still puzzled trying to find a way to achieve the stacked look. As of now kasi if i wear a band, there's really a huge space between that and the e-ring. Already thinking na nga of having a totally new setting made but that would just cost us more and this isnt budgeted What should i do?? TIA!

At last, nakakita din ako ng legit wedding ring maker here in Bulacan. I'm positive na he will make our rings (asawa nya is friend ng mom ko) at magiging maganda based on the design I saw from the Internet. He also got an award and working in a well known and reputable jewelry store here in PH. I can't wait na gawin nya ito this December (during his Christmas break)!  :-)

Sis sparklingjewel, before you alter your engagement ring or have a specially made wedding ring to "fit" your engagement ring-stacked look, I would suggest you evaluate muna your long-term lifestyle. I had a similar dilemma as yours and I ended up having three rings, one, my official wedding ring (with diamonds), my unofficial wedding ring (plain gold band, comfort fit that sits between my official wedding ring and my e-ring) and my e-ring which is a huge solitaire. These days I don't wear my e-ring everyday because it is quite big nga and with three rings, it looks quite "heavy" na for my slim finger - para akong gangsta... haha. And since I am on the move all the time, it's not too convenient for me to have such a large ring to be worrying about. When hubby and I go to social functions o kaya may date kami, I choose between my e-ring or other jewelries na bagay sa outfit. Hubby doesn't mind, as long as I take care of the gifts he gave me and he sees me enjoy wearing it when I do.

Baka ipa-alter mo ang wedding ring mo or you have it designed to fit your e-ring tapos in the end hindi mo din madalas isusuot ang e-ring mo, magmumukhang awkward ang wedding ring by itself.

magkaiba ng hitsura ang wedding ring namin ni hubby, ang akin ay 14k yellow gold eternity ring, kay husband naman ay 18k yellow gold pave ring. :-) sa civil kami kinasal.

Wow sis, this is really good advice! Thing is, yeah malaki din itsura ng e-ring ko (from afar it seems to cover the whole width of my finger) but thing is, fiance wants me to wear it everyday, so parang not a choice. He wants me to wear both that and the wedding band. I saw a wedding band design na curved para yung part na tatama mas naka-angat, but not sure how much i like it. Will explore.
All i know for now is, with my e-ring and a normal band now, hindi talaga pwede sa lifestyle ko na hindi sila flat kase parang mas madaling matanggal :|

^ hi sis! I have the opposite problem naman with my ring hehe My e-ring was designed to look good in a stack. But I feel the current setting does not do justice to the stones because it was set very low. . It is meant to be paired with a half eternity ring with 5 stones. My e-ring is a three stone ring, with a  center stone and 2 side stones. It is set very low so that the height of the side stones will be the same height as the stones of the wedding band. When worn together, the effect would be like I am wearing a thick chunky ring with diff sizes of asscher cut stones.


Lately I have been sorta regretting not having a halo put instead of the 2 side stones. Halos are all the rage, and really make the stones stand out. A medium profile/height will also make the stone pop out more.

Baliktad tayo... I am thinking of resetting my stones to make it stand out more as a solo ring vs to look good in a stack.  But I am dyahe to tell my fiance I will change the setting, even if I pay for it pa hahaha

Sisses, how many months before the wedding kayo bumili ng rings? January 2016 pa ako, and I'm thinking if bibili na ba ako dapat by February kasi Vday Sale or later on nalang kasi baka mag bago pa isip ko.. Hehe

^ Hi sissies, I bought our wedding rings sa Before I do Bridal fair in Mega last Nov 23. Two tone white gold yung style nya since ayaw ni H2B ng maarteng rings at baka di daw nya suutin haha. Supplier is Gems by Me. Me kasama pang dummy rings. Orig price is 30K, nahaggle ko to 20K hihi. Sa Sept 2015 pa wedding ko pero sa January na namen makukuha yung dummy rings. Lifetime yung pag paaadjust so mukang good buy naman to:)

We bought our rings sa Ongpin 2 weeks ago, saudi yellow gold 18k tapos comfort fit sya. It's just a simple plain ring. Kamukha nya yung sa lord of the rings hehe. Tapos na-realize ni h2b ayaw nya yung lapad. So ginawa namin bumalik kami sa Ongpin,pinatunaw namin then pina-customized namin sya. So now our ring is mas makapal but mas makitid, then ginawa naming rose gold  Happy kami kase andamin namin nakita sa bridal fair na rings na half lang ng nagastos namin sa rings namin pero mas mabigat sya and na-customized namin yung kulay na gusto namin. Everyday namin sya tinitignan

Yung sa kin sis, initially mas maluwag pero di ko pinaadjust since nahaharangan nga nung civil weddingg ring namin. Now na preggy ako, sakto na yung fit niya. I believe luluwag din ulit to after i give birth.

^ madami sa Ongpin sis but I suggest sa binalhan namin ikaw bumili since napa-uri na namin yung nabili namin sa kanila. Mirage Jewels yung store name, marami silang stall dun. Makikita mo naman may name talaga yung store nila, then yung stall na nabilhan namin nasa daanan lang sya facing Sta.Cruz church. May website din sila, search mo na lang. Your budget is way expensive na nga. 6k lang yung rings namin hehe kahit ako hinde makapaniwala, but it's magaan lang kase. Pero ngayon mabigat na sya kase nga pinatunaw namin then nag-add ako ng owned gold ko. And ang hanap ko kase is per gram na bentahan hinde per piece. So nakiusap ako sa may-ari na per gram lang bigay sa akin. Mapapamahal ka talaga pag per piece ang usapan. 20k budget is maganda na dun pero walang diamonds ha and ang daming 2-toned na magaganda. Hirap lang mahanap dun yung rose gold wala msyado nagtitinda na ganun. Ask for per gram na rate sis, sa akin kase mas sulit yung ganun.

^wow! Thanks for the tip sis. Nung nagpunta kasi kami ng bridal fair pinakamura na nakita namin na pair 20k kaya sinet na lang din namin yun budget sa ganung amount. Wala pa nga rin diamonds yun 20k na presyo dun sa bridal fair eh.
