Are You Obssessed Sa Pagpapaputi?

Are you? Why? I cannot count the number of whitening related topics here, gluta, whitenig makeup, lotion, etc. I realized then that filipinas are obssessed with whitening. Is this the standard of beauty now? Not the shape of the eyes, lips, cheeks etc?

Gumaganda ba talaga pag pumuputi "unnaturally"? Idk if it's just me or may similar looks ang mga naggluta...

Personally ang gusto ko lang yung pantay na color. I get tan lines specially pag summer. Who wants semi-permanent tan lines? I tend to buy whitening soaps because of this. And sa face, I also use some products that whiten skin to remove my acne blemishes. And let's just admit, mas mukang fresh pag medyo brighter ang face. Pero wag naman yung super layo sa color ng neck and arms. LOL!

Eto lang opinion ko on why a lot of Filipinas want to get lighter:

Influenced din kasi tayo ng mga nakikita natin sa TV. Most ng magagandang celebs are super puti. Some start with normal Filipina skin but pagtagal hala IV gluta na. People who idolize them syempre would want to look like them. And maybe that is why madami nang obsessed magpaputi.

Another thing na napansin ko. Guys here are more attracted sa mapuputi at makikinis. Superficial. IKR? That's one of the first things that get's their attention. Later nalang ang personality.

Pretty and light skinned girls here are also treated better. From observation ko sa public ah.

It sucks but it's reality.

Iba pa rin yung mga natural na maputi compared dun sa mga naggu-gluta. Yes, may certain looks sila or should i say na unnatural look ng whiteness compared sa natural na maputi.

Hindi ako obsessed sa pagpapaputi. Morena ako. Gusto ko lang pantay at makinis.

Hindi ako obsessed sa pagpapaputi pero obsessed ako sa glowing skin, yung rosy effect gusto ko at halos invisible ang pores. Bumibili ako ng skin lightening stuff kasi nadiscover ko yung rosy at poreless skin dun ko nakukuha sa mga ganung produkto, as compared with regular moisturising stuff lang.

Not really sis but gusto ko na pumantay yung color ng skin ko. My boobs, shoulders, tummy are maputi. While my forearms, thighs, knees and legs are morena. It's annoying kasi para akong dalmatian without the spots but with portioned areas. Huhubells.

Hindi ako obsessed na magpaputi kasi maputi na ako.  Mas gusto ko nga tan (or bronze pa nga) ako kasi parang mas bagay sa akin yung sun-kissed ang kulay ko.  So wala akong takot kung mangitim ako

Nope,  maputi na kasi ako naturally... Obsessed ako with looking young and keeping the wrinkles at bay... Im obsessed with glowing skin din so thats why I'm on gluta.

When I was younger (parang ang tanda ko na ngayon eh 20 palang ako lol), nung highschool pa. Super obsessed akong magpaputi kasi insecure ako sa kulay ko. Uneven skintone and morena. And blame the society for having standards na kapag maputi maganda ka, na maputi agad ang napapansin, and so on and so forth.

Hanggang topical lang ako, never tried taking gluta.

ako naman hindi obsessed pero super morena kasi ako na parang ang dumi tignan ng balat ko. gusto ko maging lighter kahit a few shades lang kasi bukod sa acidic ang skin ko na lalong nagpapadungis sa look ko, medyo mas refreshing tignan sa akin [textspeak!] medyo lighter (based ko lang yan pag gumagamit ako camera360 and ginagawa ko effect yung bright/light). di ko naman goal na parang kutis artista. basta glowing, pantay saka maging nc30 man lang ako hehe.

Not gonna be a hypocrite so im gonna say yes.

Cos i want the perfect glowing luminous skin. Ive always wanted to have the perfect skin cos since i was young ive always had troubled skin. Skin asthma, allergies and all that. Dahil sa sobrang sensitive ng skin ko, it left me with scars, bumps and uneven pigmentation everywhere. Nakakafrustrate :p

i just wanna look fresher and leaner.

para kasing less effort na to look good if you have good skin.

shallow kung shallow but who doesnt wanna look good. or maybe sakin lang cos my idea of beauty talaga (physicall) is havin clear luminous skin :p

Tbh masasabi ko na oo naoobsess ako pumuti, pero di ko pa nasususbukan yung IV gluta, puro sabon lang naman nagtry ako ng capsules pero opted na lang sa sabon, kaya naman eh, matagal man ang effect may effect pa rin.

Napakauneven talaga kasi ng balat ko gusto ko talaga pumuntay at kung pumuti syempre mas maganda.

Ang sagwa lang kasi pag di pantay kulay.

not really pa naman kc di ako nag glu glutha at ayaw ko mag take orally ng mga whitening or injectable kahit sabihin pa nilang safe and effective kc mas important parin ang health ko baka kc may side effect in a long run kapag in stop ko na. Siguro kaya gusto ko maputi dahil malinis at mukhang mabango tignan tapos nasusuot mo kahit anong color bagay syo. hilig ko lang sa mga soap at cream na whitening at sunblock.

Dati ginusto ko din ng rosy but realized that i'm yellow toned (like most pinays) so impossible and unnatural na may rosy shade a yellow/warm tone unless nag maxipeel sila. Lol

Ang pinaka naloloka ako eh after magpakasaya sa beach eh todo pagpapaputi agad. As if di nila alam na iitim ka talaga to some degree afterwards. Or those na good sa kanila yung makeup pero ang gusto nila may whitening, kahit sa oils and body scrubs, they do it to whiten just when ang main purpose naman is to moisturize or to remove dead cells for a softer smoother skin.

I'm glad that some sisses here did admit na obsess sila sa pagpapaputi.
Ako naman di ako obsess talaga, i'm nc25-30 and contented with it. After beaching and nagtan ako, okay lang din. I'm not disgusted sa kanognogan ko afterwards. ;-D

Before NO. Gusto ko lang magpantay kulay ko. Kasi syempre office girl ka dapat malinis itsura mo di ba? Palagi pa ko nakadress at skirt before so gusto ko pantay kulay ko. Sa di sinasadyang pangyauare kakagamit ng whitening products pumuti ako ng over. And maganda kinalabasan saken. Bumagay sya saken. Something like oh may igaganda pala ko haha

Tapos nagswimming,umitim. Balik sa dating kulay. Ang panget na face kasi maitim oily lagi yung itsura.

Kaya ngayon YES i am na. Super obssess na ko sa pag papaputi. Effortless kasi pag maputi ka na. Achieve mo pa yung no make up look. Tipid sa make up. Natural tignan yung ganda kahit pilit yung pagpapaputi. Tipid sa mamahaling damit kasi pansin ko pag maputi ka kahit nakasinelas at tshirt ka sa mall ok ka na. Kaya idol ko yung mga ganun na look. Then mapepeke mo mga tao mukang mayaman ang kutis na maputi at makinis. 

Pero syempre wala naman akong against sa morena look or hindi kaputian kasi been there done that. Ok naman sya. Actually sila pwede nila sabihin,"pag ako pumuti mas gaganda pa ko sayo". Haha eh pag maputi ka sasabihin sayo "maputi ka lang hindi ka maganda". I guess girls will always be girls. Vain kung vain hehe
