On being facebook official
« on: July 08, 2014, 01:53:26 pm »
From what I know it's usually girls who insist to be facebook official and tell their whole friends and family that she's in a relationship with so and so. But what if it's the girl who doesn't want to change her fb status on fb (still blank), nor post any pics of her and her guy on her wall, but have no problems posting pics of her with male friends (both gay and straight), according to the girl she just doesn't want friends and family to bombard her with questions which is why she wants to keep it private, do you think it's true or is she just keeping her options?

If the girl's not really the type who proclaims to the world all her private affairs/issues, then her reason is believable or valid.

Ako din, my guy and i are almost 4yrs in a rel, but i never posted any pic of us together, nor change our fb stats. Its just not necessary. Like what she said, ayaw ko din ng iniissue pa or pinapakialaman ng other people. Especially now, that most people think facebook is the "real world" or their "real life". Hassle pa magexplain or maissue-han pa. Id rather keep my personal life private, well except in twitter, nagpopost parin ako about us. Pero sa facebook, no. Alam naman ng mga tao sa paligid namin, so no need to update FB about it :P

Pero if the girl youre pertaining to eh nakikipagchummy chummy pa with other guys sa FB or shes still making herself look or seem available online, then most probably, shes still keeping her options open.

^^for me OA naman yung 8months na hindi pa nilalagay na in a relationship. bakit artista ba siya? hindi ba alam ng family and friends niya that she has a bf?

reason i can think of: she is not proud of her bf. or she is hiding something.

i don't buy her reason na she wants to keep it private. hindi ba pag mahal mo ang isang tao gusto mo ipagsigawan na kayo? na ipo-post mo mga happy moments niyo kasi proud ka sa kanya and you want to share your happiness with others. ewan ko bakit ganun yung girl na yun.

2 months pa lang mag bf, pero going out for 8 months. alam ng friends and family ni girl na may bf siya, duda namin baka may nasa friend list ni girl na ayaw niyang makaalam, probably sa workplace or something

Exclusive for 2 months... Sounds like it's the latter. Based on the timeline ha.

Pero you can look into her FB "life" din naman. If she seems very active, with her photos, status and all tipong post-dito-post-doon, yet doesn't seem to post any hints of her having a lovelife, then maybe she is hiding something, from someone.

But if wala naman masyadong pakialam sa facebook nya, maybe she just doesn't see the need to make an fb-wide relationship announcement.

my boy and i have talked about being facebook official, and i didn't like the idea kase it's so highschool :) that's it, no other reason. not that i'm not proud, or i don't want issues, or i don't want someone to know. i just find it corny and useless. i profess my love in other more significant terms. and so does he.

naalala ko pa before he asked me if i'm willing to wear couple shirts... i said no for the same reasons.

pagtatawanan ko lang sarili ko if i do that eh. haha.

we've been together for a year and a half or so.

although, we have pictures together on both our accounts naman. pero very konti lang and nothing that screams hey this is my boyfriend. casual photos like how i am with my other male (gay or straight) friends.

^Exactly. Lakas makahighschool drama. Cumocouple shirts and stuff pa, ooohhkkaaay. Haha! Madami kasi addict sa FB, its like they have to show everything to everyone. Mas feeling artista yung ganun. Haha.

I dont get why the guy's even bothered. I rarely meet boys who are so much into facebook na pati relationship status nila ng gf niya eh gusto inuupdate agad. Last time i checked, most boys nga nababaduyan sa ganun. Haha!

Unless you know, theyre on their teens and are highschool talaga :p

Same for me. 1 yr and a half kami and hindi kami nag change status sa fb. At wala akong tinatago (alam niya naman pw ko so no point magtago). Alam din ng buong mundo na taken ako so it's not to make myself appear available. Siguro when we get married na lang. Di ba bongga ang Status update from single, married agad lol. Na skip ang 'in a relationship' at 'engaged'

When me and my boyfriend became official, we also made it facebook official by uploading a "couple picture" and that was it. We didn't change our rel. status to in a relationship agad agad.  And never had I posted anything cheesy/collages sa wall niya. All collages are sent privately. HAHAHA! Pero never kami nagpopost ng " I love you blah blah" online.

But in a way, one picture answered so many questions. And my boyfriend was the one said na gusto niya ipalam one way or another kasi medyo marami nagpaparamdam na ibang guys. So siguro assurance lang niya yun. In  a way, guys want to feel assured din naman.

But that was it. If you feel weird that your GF dont want to post photo of you together. I actually understand too. Cos trust me, maraming tao diyan ang nagfefeeling single talaga.

How sad.
Going back to the topic, I agree with the others here. If she seems to update her fb page so much but when it comes to the guy eh no, she might be hiding something.

matagal na kami mag bf/gf.. siguro almost 5 years na? sorry i don't count. pero wala kaming ganyan ganyan. naka in a relationship sya. ako, i prefer not to put any. i dont post photos of us together. i even keep some of my photos private sa view nya, well.. actually most of my photos naman private lalo na pag family related. alam naman ng totoong mundo na kami, syempre we go out. pati ba naman sa cyberworld need ko pa ipaglandakan?

^haha! exactly!

my bf and i are going 10 years magbf-gf this year, hindi nakalabas sa public ang status namen and even profile pics pero alam ng mga family and friends namen na kami,, pero we usually tag ourselves lang if ever umaalis kami like dates, travel abroad and local and just chill lang sa house..

actually my bf initiated na wag na public ang relationship namen, and for me as gf, walang issue saken. its just facebook, without facebook,, kamusta ba ang relationship ninyo? baka naman online lang talaga yung relationship, then i think that would matter. imho lang.  ;D

btw single status namen sa facebook, kasi naman we are not yet married, technically single padin naman yun! hehe

hmm kung LDR siguro maiintindihan ko pa on why the couple thinks na its semi important.

but gaya nga ng sabi mo sis ^ nasa bf mo na yun, kahit naman in a rel siya sa f kun in real life eh umaastang single. wala parin.

honestly ha, ang hirap hirap ng LDR pag walang tiwala at confidence yung couple sa isat isa. instead of focusing on your prob on your attachment sa FB eh siguro you have to learn muna na alagaan ang relationship niyo. dun ka muna magfocus. kasi ikaw pumasok sa ganyang setup so embrace the challenges and face them, para walang maging problem. medyo hassle ang ldr sa couple na walang tiwala sa isat isa. kasi kahit kayo o hindi sa fb, impt thing is, alam mong in REAL LIFE eh ikaw at ikaw lang ang gf.

unsolicited advice. hehe :) i hope you dont take offense sis.

i guess it's just not necessary, nowadays your friends in facebook may not be all your "friends", some are just acquaintances in high school or college or distant relatives, so they really don't need to know your relationship status. Yung mga tao who probably need to know would already know na din naman.

kinda out of topic, i had an ex na super babaero, so he had 3 facebook accounts, iba iba for each girlfriend, with different sets of friends pa. crazy person.  >:(

Does she introduce him to her friends and family?

This is sooooo me, kaya natawa ako bigla anyways, sa FB ko kasi puro kapamilya and real friends talaga and knowing some of my relatives madami sa kanila ang nosy, matanong if di ko sila sasagutin I'm sure sa nanay ko sila magtatanong.

The bf insists na we update our status sa fb so nakalagay in a relationship with ______ sa kanya nakikita pero saken nakahide, di naman issue sa kanya basta sa about me section niya kita ng mga tao, we don't post ILYs sa fb pero minsan pag nagcocoment sa pics ng isa't isa mahahalata naman na kame kasi sweet magusap.

Of course our common friends know naman the real score so okay naman.
