ako preggy pa lang but i have hypo instead. pinapagtake ako ng levothyroxine 50mcg continuous lang mas delikado ata if i don't take it, pero takot yung husband ko n iniinom ko yung gamot while pregnant.

sis Mitchieme and abbmg15 , can you share your TSH, FT3 and FT4 results as well as yun normal range levels. bakit nasabing hyper and hypo kayo?

Yun sa ibang nabasa ko kasi iba daw ang normal range level kapag non-pregnant vs pregnant e. Tapos iba iba din ang range depende sa trimester naman.

Ako po. Alam ko bago pa ko mabuntis noon may hyperthyroidism na ko talaga. Ok naman sis.. healthy naman mga baby ko.. Yup 3 na kids ko.. and bata palang ako, may noticeable na bukol na ko sa leeg pero dedma lang ako noon kase wala sa isip ko ang sakit na yun.. Ngayon ko lang nalaman na hyperthyroidism pala yung sakit ko.

^may mga test na pinagawa sa u sis while pregnant ka? may special care ba like pinag take ka ng meds or close monitoring ng pregnancy mo?

@sis abbmg15, mas delikado nga if you won't take your med for hypo kasi untreated hypo can cause a number of pregnancy complications including miscarriage and preterm delivery. Proven safe naman ang levothyroxine for pregnant women.

@sis lakwatsa, yes sis different nga tsh reference range for preggy and non-preggy pero for hypo patients lang ata ito. American thyroid assoc ang naglabas ng research na into, an authority when it comes to thyroid diseases. Unfortunately, not all endos are aware or following these guidelines.

Kwento ko lang, when I learned I am pregnant, I asked my OB for endo recommendations. She gave 2, one older more experienced and one who is relatively younger and I consulted with both. I have normal ft3, ft4 and tsh prior to being pregnant. Yung younger said na kahit normal tsh ko, it's still slightly elevated based on the ref range for pregnant women. Binigyan niya ako ng levothyroxine to lower my tsh. Yung older said na walang separate ref range for preggies and he wants me to stop taking med because normal naman daw tsh ko. I decided to follow the younger kasi nga ATA clearly states na pregnant women should be screened differently. Medyo recent lang kasi yung research na yun so maybe older docs are not updated and are just relying on their years of experience.

I have hashimoto's thyroiditis naman confirmed by elevated thyroid antibodies and thyroid scan. I have symptoms of both hypo and hyper. When you have thyroid problem, dapat talaga co-managed by an endo during pregnancy. Critical ang thyroid function during pregnancy. Tingin ko nga before I have a subclinical thyroid condition na hindi ako aware and contributed to my first baby's fetal distress. Pero di ko na maproprove yun kaya mas nag-iingat na lang ako ngayon na alam ko na talaga yung condition ko.

nabanggit ko kasi sa OB na i had thyroiditis dating dati pa tapos kako kung may tendency bang bumalik yun while pregnant even though yearly naman na check e normal na sya pero yun last check kako e 5 yrs ago pa. alam mo na kung ano ano kasi nagsusulputan pag buntis hehe. tapos sabi nya irerequest nya daw ako ng test para sure. i got the results. normal FT3 and FT4 pero slightly low yun TSH kasi 0.34 yun lowest normal while yun sa result ko e 0.31.

dahil walang clinic si doc, ni-google ko na lang muna kung ano meaning nun tapos ayun nga sabi iba daw yun range dapat pag preggy at iba din per trimester and kung dun ako sa new range magbe-base e normal pa rin considered yun TSH ko. kaka confuse tuloy.

^sis, nung 1st trimester every month tsh lab test ko. Ngayong 2nd trimester, every other month. Di ko pa alam pano sa 3rd trimester.

Ang pagkakanta ko 0.2-2.5 ref range pag preggy. Konti lang difference per trimester. So pasok ka pa if 0.34. Ako naman, 1.106 tsh ko, medyo gitna. Dati nung 1st month nasa 3 yun, kaya binigyan ako ng gamot para bumaba pa ng onti.

Kung may thyroiditis ka na dati, possibleng bumalik kasi alam mo naman pag buntis, maraming natitrigger na kung ano-ano. May nabasa din ako na minsan 3rd trimester daw nagloloko ang tsh. Kaya dapat I monitor every trimester. Yung 1st trimester lang critical kasi thyroid hormones natin ang ginagamit ni baby. By 2nd trimester meron na silang sariling thyroid gland.

^ayun nga e. nawala din sa isip ko na banggitin yun sa OB nun 1st tri kasi every year na checking dati e lagi naman syang within range tapos wala din akong old symptoms na nararamdaman.

so may separate Endo ka sis bukod sa OB mo ano? iniisip ko kung masasakop ba yun kung "Repro Endo" na yun OB? o regardless e kelangan pa rin talaga maghanap ng separate Endo. hmmm.

^yes sis, separate pa yung endo ko. Iba ata ang OB-RE sa endo, pero di ko din sure. Basta naalala ko sabi ng dating endo ko, as soon as mabuntis ako, dapat magpa-check ako agad sa kanya, yun nga lang lumipat ako ng endo he he. Basta sabi within 8 weeks, dapat macheck yung thyroid hormones ko.

Di ko lang sure sa case mo sis. Ask mo na lang siguro si ob mo kung need mo pa ng separate na endo.
