Most Laid-back country you have ever been to

What are the countries and places around the world that offers a laid-back vibe? Any recommendations?

^canberra & bairnsdale (australia). sobrang tahimik, malinis, maganda weather except winter hehe. wala gaanong mall, mostly supermarket lang. magkakatabi house pero konti lang tao. walang traffic kasi konti lang din sasakyan, napaka-disiplinado ng mga tao

I was about to say Australia din. Kahit yung big cities like Sydney and Perth, sobrang laidback. Almost to the point of being boring.

for me, it's hawaii. super laidback. siguro kasi you're never too far from the beach and where we went in oahu, it's all very lush so ang hirap maging stressed kasi ang fresh ng surroundings and parang everyone's just taking their time. even honolulu na arguably busy (busy na yun by hawaii's standards), chill pa rin. we went to hilo din and that was even more laidback, more provincial. wala silang malalaking malls or shops and para siyang province sa Pinas.

midwest usa. in chicago, it's like they're just wearing 'duster' and 'chinelas' when out and about. but, of course, out of sheer pretentiousness, they call it summer dress and flip-flops.
monaco could also be described as laid back but it's on a very different level there. as in royalty and billionaire levels.

^ I would have to totally agree with Monaco.

Christchurch, New Zealand (our other home) is filled with Rest Homes for those retirees. So it's definitely laid back and relaxed.

Cesky Krumlov in Czech Republic. Chillax vibe lang, you walk to everywhere within the town, quiet but safe at night. Friendly neighborhood storekeepers, barkeepers, etc.

^ Sounds awesome. Either that or I am biased because I fell in love with Prague. Looks like it's something worth planning about for a possible visit to Czech Republic in the future.

^ we loved Prague din!! Sarap din maglakad-lakad. We just took a bus to Cesky Krumlov and stayed there for 2 nights before our flight out of Prague.

^ I looked at info and saw na nasa mga 2 hours away lang pala ang Cesky Krumlov. So perhaps next time. And again, I am oh so in love with Prague talaga. It's one of those places where I want to teleport to if I just want a change of scenery. I couldn't get enough of all their structures. Ako na ang nag give up ng kaka take ng photos since everything seems to be so photo worthy!

I agree, Prague is just beautiful! There's something magical on that place that makes you want to go back over and over again! 5 hours away and yet we still can't make it back there again

Malta, has an old town feel and without the tourists, it would be really chill. they even still have siesta time where they close the shops for 1-2hours

Oh sis I know! We'll probably go back there next year. Hubby's got a lot of things on his plate at work right now and vacation is out of the picture 

I love Croatia too, in Dubrovnik. We loved our stay in Hotel Bellevue waking up and sleeping to the sound of crashing waves. It was the most relaxing vacation and place we've been so far.

Most laid-back asian country I've been too would have to be vietnam. in Saigon, there's lots of kanto cafes. Vietnamese like their coffee and they'd sit in the sidewalk enjoy a cup and chat away. Even the other places like Hue and Hoi An are also very laid-back. Lots of people on bike.

Cayman Islands -  super laid back, sarado mga shops ng 6pm, closed on Sundays. Napapalibutan ng beach. It's a paradise to tourists! I guess most Caribbean islands have this vibe.

Spain - May siesta sa hapon (2- 3 hours!) although mas late naman ata sila nagsasara.  Even sa Madrid, dun sa hindi tourist places, hind crowded, I felt laid back lang. Maganda pa weather nila.

Ireland (Dublin) - what I like about Dublin is it has the perks of a city but it's not a big city so hindi chaotic. Hindi masyadong mabilis ang galaw ng mundo! ang mga tao very friendly and machika kahit nakapila lang sa groceries. Shops close na din ng 6pm although recently the big ones open na until 8pm. Sa work ko 35 hour week kami not 40 hours.  Its very green too and kahit sa Dublin may mountains so relax lang ang vibe. Outside Dublin mas laid back.

With regard to Malta - I have a friend who used to work there, she said there's a week during summer na close ang office nila dahil sobrang init daw. hihi...

Everyone is just so chill and zen.

Limited pa ang number of tourists na pumupunta, so you run into the same folks on your tours, kahit magkaibang travel agencies pa ang kasama ninyo.

People walk everywhere. Malamig kasi and there are a lot of open spaces.

Locals are friendly, easygoing, polite, and machika! And their lives are simple lang.
