They say that nga but kids or no kids, I'll walk away. Fidelity is a golden rule for me.

They say you'll never know unless you're in the situation or to "think of the kids".
I say there's no turning back from losing trust.

I guess others ask why because they want to fight for their marriage or to lessen impact to the kids life.
I'm not going to fight for someone who gave up on me by choosing to cheat. Kids are smart too. They know and it impacts them either way.

@zeroone- Thanks for the no-BS reply, unlike other married men here at GT who're full of BS. As for me, I do think most men are cheaters and/or weak when tempted. What would you do if you find out your wife's cheating on you naman?

I'D BURY THEM BOTH ALIVE...

okay, probably not right away.. LOL. We've talked about going separate lives before. Regardless what the reason may be, either you get tired of each other, I/she cheated or personal reasons, we'd both take it lightly. Whatever the reason, problems about relationship leads to one inevitable outcome, someone will stray and find his own happiness... I know I didn;t marry a whore, so I know that she won;t sleep with someone else with no apparent reason at all. So what I told her is "if" it come to that, then we'll be fine I guess. Like I said, we've been together for 10 yrs before getting married, there's nothing much more we can offer. That's the point when you take someone else' hands, or leave it. I will be hurt, but you can't chain someone and never let her go. I gave her my best. I tweak some "style" but nothing much more to offer. Either she's happy or not. Do NOT EVER use the word contented. Contentment, though not always, could lead to finding something better. That's a very dangerous word to use in a relationship. Either you;re happy or not. Don't fool yourself. Tell yourself you;re contented and you'll end up miserable.

cheating isn't giving up. it's not cheating if no one knows. i know it sounds stupid but if we don;t know anyone who's ever cheated, we wouldn't be having this discussion. it's human nature to take chances, to take risks, play games. people will still ride the MRT even though there're risk and despite what happened. People are still flying despite planes going down. like I said, it's no more than just  a game for some.

Your BFs/husbands' choices lead them to all of you. If they were playboys, that means they thought that you were the best and chose you. So try to be the best for them, men do the same so wives don't cheat on them. Most wives I know will fight for their husbands too.

i;m not justifying cheating, it;s never a good thing. what i don't like is that women associate themselves with the reason that men cheat. It's just not about you. That's why most women ask "bakit mo nagawa" kasi they thought there was something missing with them. Give yourselves some credit. No one's perfect. In this world, IMO everything has flaws, And we just choose one flaw over another when we switch partners.

Where are the others? why am I the only one posting? LOL

You probably know a lot of married guys who cheat, I can too if I would. But can't risk my wife leaving with my kids, love them too much, Won't let them grow up with parents separated. Not gonna lie though that if there's a slightest chance, I;d probably risk it, I'll cross the bridge when I get there.

Ya, you would cheat if you could. If your wife would allow you.  But you know your wife can't take that crap and will leave you with your kids once she finds out. Kaya you opt not to cheat. Good choice.

IMO, most men are loyal and good men. Cheaters are the "exceptions". Good and honest men, they're the ideal men in the ideal world but mostly boring. They live a linear life.

Gaya ng nasabi ni jonduh, I think the loyal and good men are the exceptions. The cheaters and womanizers/players are the norm these days. Especially in our culture. Something wrong with our culture, IMO. Women (their GFs/wives and mga naghahabol na babae) allow it while men feel honored and respected if they have more women in their lives. Skewed laws support children born out of marriage, and laws also do not protect cheated wives and no law against kabits or cheating husbands - kung meron man, kulang.

No basis at all. Great and honest husbands can cheat too. Your husband may be cheating on you (if you;re married or bf, dunno) What you don;t know won't hurt you. Better ask yourself how well you can tolerate pain.

Right on!  So there you go. You conflicted yourself about cheaters. Sabi mo most men are loyal. But really, even the great and honest husbands, even yung mga wives na super happy kasi AKALA nila loyal ang asawa nila sa kanya, but in reality hindi. Nasa loob ang kulo. And there are many like this. Sa office palang, I see women flaunting their family pictures na super successful and happy ang marriages and family nila. Pero kapag nakausap mo yung hubby, alam mo something is wrong.

GOt a question for all girltalkers, when a husband or BF cheats, why do some ask "why?" instead of just walking away? Doe any of you think there's a valid reason for doing it?

I think madali magsalita to leave. Pero when you are in there, case to case sa tapang ng tao. Unfortunately, in our culture, women are taught to be submissive. Kahit san lupalop ka na ihagis ng asawa mo, you should abide by his changing rules every so often. The hell with them. Para sakin, mga lalaking ganyan, hindi dapat pinagtya-tyagaan (learning from my own experience).  Each woman should learn how to fight for themselves, yung nasa lugar. That's what I am teaching my daughter now which I think my parents and grandparents never taught me - fight for what's rightfully yours.

Isa pa iyan, ang daming cheated wives would make the kids an excuse to justify their martyrdom. Pero ang masasabi ko lang dyan, some wives choose to stay as they have their own reasons.  Na hoping sila for a miracle na magbago ang asawa nila - may  novena naman na puede puntahan araw araw, so may hope pa.

Another reason, most of which is thinking also about their own welfare (and not the kids), is ano nalang ang sasabihin ng mga kaibigan nila na pinangalandakan na nila na happily married sila at happy ang family nila? So by hook or by crook, they have to make their marriage work, even if it means allowing her husband to have mistresses.

Another reason is financial.  Especially when only the guy is earning, so "paano na ang kakainin ko, titirhan ko, pang makeup/pang ayos ko for the rest of my life kung iiwan ko ang nagp-provide nito sakin?" Tsaka paano na ang mga bata, alangan naman walang sustento from the dad (I know there are laws for this pero the hassle of filing etc pa, kelangan mo parin gumastos.)  It is more of these, rather than - "thinking of the kids" reason.

You see, if you are really thinking about the kids' welfare, hindi mo gugustuhin lumaki ang anak mo nakikita nag aaway kayo, nakikita nambabae ang dad nila while the mom cries and looks haggard all the time. Gugustuhin mo ba lumaki ang anak mong lalaki same as the dad or yung babae mong anak lumaki na OK  lang na ang asawa nya may ibang babae or OK lang na sya ang maging kabit?  Hindi di ba? So why make the kids as a reason.  You can still live a life separate from your philandering husband to stand by your principles of honesty, not allowing to be cheated/fooled by anyone or not taking any crap treatment from your partner.

Sometimes wala nga sa tagal.  I think I was BF/GF with my ex hubby for so long as well. Over 10 years. But marriage did not work out. But I like how you said it - take it or leave it. Para sakin din, kung ayaw mo na, tell him/her.  Then move one. But don't ever say you are unsure, and maintaining a relationship, while doing other relationships on the side. This is blatant pambabastos to your partner and to the relationship.

cheating isn't giving up. it's not cheating if no one knows.

Really?  Cheating is still cheating. Even if no one knows. If nanloloko ang isang tao, that's the hard truth. It's lying.

Cheating in a way is sort of giving up as well.  Kasi instead of working on your relationship, one resorts to another partner and it has been proven time and again, that another partner can never be a solution to an ailing relationship.

i;m not justifying cheating, it;s never a good thing. what i don't like is that women associate themselves with the reason that men cheat. It's just not about you. So nagcheat si lalaki, sasabihin nya sa partner nya, "it's not you, it's just me" famous line. And end of story?  After all the work that both has put into the relationship (and most likely mas marami effort ang babae), ganun ganun nalang. After all the promises, si babae giving the best years of her life, tapos kung kelan may wrinkles na sya, goodbye nalang?

I think men cheat because they look for something else that is not in there partner. Kaya kasalanan ng guy, IMO, iyang cheating na iyan, kasi una una, kagagawan nya. Second, why commit if he is not sure, tapos later magwawala?  Iyan ang problem sa kinakasal nang maaga (which by the way isa rin iyan uso sa kultura natin) kahit hindi ka pa sure sa GF mo, kasi "andyan na eh, dun rin naman patungo", little did they know - na ma-a-attract pa pala sila sa ibang babae later in life.  All because they are immature not to protect their marriage, immature to shop around pa kahit married na, too proud to flaunt to their friends na may mga babae pang nagkakagusto sa kanila, at para "in" sila and feeling macho.

may kilala ako before, ayaw daw ni girl. then nung nagmove on na si guy, courted another girl, the first girl naman felt bitter and cried. aw!  ::)

@zeroone, thank you again for sharing. I do notice some fallacies in your points and Girltalker2 pointed a number of them already. Just some additional points from me: cheating is cheating, no ifs, ands, buts about it. You and the girl you cheated with would know. You claim to love your wife and kids a lot and yet would risk destroying your relationship with them over quick sex. For me this is a poor risk-benefit ratio that weak men take para lang sa panandaliang ligaya. It really takes a stronger character and more solid values to resist our basic urges as men. No logical justifications, excuses, use of clichés will cover up for what is essentially a sign of weakness in character. I hope you stay retired for long :)

- is this a code for shut the f*ck now...haha, ok, my last point.

- I didn't expect that girls here would click like or share what they have just read on social media. we live in the real world, the picture ain;t pretty.

-she obviously was hurt and what i said was my "honest" personal opinion. her circumstances may be different, we don't know. whatever she said here is just one side of the coin.

Cheating in a way is sort of giving up as well.  Kasi instead of working on your relationship, one resorts to another partner and it has been proven time and again, that another partner can never be a solution to an ailing relationship.

- that's probably true by your "own"definition. sadly that's not the same and not shared by most guys. girls/guys cheat, to "fill in" the blanks. those blanks, those characteristics that their partners don;t have are the ones sought. But it's not enough to give up someone who's got the big chunk of you. it can;t be giving up if you're still together. Some partners cheat because the relationship's on the rock, but there are also some who cheated and realized that they already have the best and opted to stay. That's called engagement.

- there's no one size fits all, but accept the fact that all straight men have the potential to cheat. It all depends on the circumstances.

 :-X shutting up now.

Yes, that's the point. Most of them. And it just takes a strong and extraordinary man to resist this. And masasabi ko iilan lang sila.  A girl has better chances of winning a lotto than finding a guy like this.

re: "once a cheater, always a cheater?" - lahat naman tao pwede magbago eh. pero sabi nga sa Psychology, "when it comes to human beings, the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior." Period. End of story. like what jonduh said, kung meron siya nung 3 pre-condition to comiit cheating, most likely uulitin niya pa rin yun. swerte mo na lang talaga kung hinde na niya gagawin yun ulet. panalo ka sa jackpot nun!  :)

It will definitely happen though pag selosa yung gf.

@zeroone - simple lang naman ang equation when it comes to cheating e. Parang krimen yan, it takes three pre-conditions for it to happen: motive (kagustuhun), means (kakayahan) and opportunity (pagkakataon). Take one out of the equation, and a crime will not happen. So yes, all men have the potential to cheat/steal/kill. In the case of cheating, most Pinoy men do justifying it by making the lame excuse that "what she doesn't know won't hurt her". Im not sure if I got your point correctly about "no one size fits all"; if you mean a person's character and values are relative and that there is no universal principle related to motivation, you might want to revisit Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs from our Psych 101 class. Sex, like food, is part of the pyramid's base and as humans we ought to aspire reaching the apex of the pyramid. Cheaters (or Losers) get stuck at the bottom.

like I said, we're in the real world and the picture ain't pretty. But, I still stand by my statement that "cheaters and players" are the exception. Most men are LOYAL.  8)

"cheaters and players" are those IMO are doing it habitual. the LOYAL men IMO are the ones, well, loyal but might try because of human nature. it's not an enivitability.

This is true: motive (kagustuhun), means (kakayahan) and opportunity (pagkakataon)
I don;t see any argument here. take one out and the plan is kaput!

dear, an ex-GF just contacted me and wants to catch up. she's a hotel concierge somewhere in BGC. white complexion, good looking, boobs at least 36B i reckon, 5'6 in height, not the smartest though. I think she just want to talk...  :P

Pero one tried and tested way to see if he is telling the truth, hindi sya nawawala wala.  Pero again hindi iyan 100% guaranteed. Kasi puedeng talagang busy lang sya.  Pero kasi nung nambababae nga ex ko before, lagi sya nawawala, unexplained pa.  Tapos when I started dating, may isang guy lagi nya sinasabi wala na sila ng ex nya, pero nawawala din. So para sakin hindi convincing.  Yung BF ko ngayon na convince nyako kasi lagi sya in contact. Kahit hindi sya ma-text, kahit papano, he calls, informs me,  etc.  Basta iba ang feeling. Hindi ako kinukutuban, at least for now.

killbill, as with all other things, actions speak louder than words.
When it comes to a person's good qualities, ibang tao ang dapat nagsasabi, hindi yung sariling announcement ::)

But then again, malay ko kung pareho naman ginagawa ng BF mo. Just cross check to be sure :)

lesters_gal, its' not gender-specific.

Hi sis. As they all said, actions speak louder than words. I have to agree mostly with Girltalker2 said -- it's the consistency of the action that matters. Para sa akin, what the guy does when you're not together speaks more of how he really feels for you. Kapag magkasama kase kayo, syempre he's caught in the moment, ineenjoy nya lang yun. For me mas sincere yung mga guys who consistently makes effort to get in touch with you.

But then again, he's your boyfriend. You know him better.

Hmm, I believe men and women lie just the same. It's just that, men get caught more often. I'd like to say, men handle things simply. If it's over, it's over. Ganun. Hindi kagaya sa babae na it's over na nga, ijajustify pa ng husto.

Thanks everyone. Priority ko is to protect myself from getting hurt.
