halu.

Baka may maisip pa ako uli..hehe

hi sis honeybee. sporty pala si hubby. hehe. ako naman mahilig sya sa video games. parang bata. pati online games din. but I leave him be. it's his way of letting off steam from work. tinatabihan ko nalang sya. minsan binibigay nya yung controller saken, naglalaro ako ng konti tas balik ko ulet sa kanya. minsan kasi kelangan ng lalake ng "me time".

I am a person who once believed that hubby & I were 2 imperfect people trying hard to have a perfect relationship.

But 1 day, I faced and expressed The Truth, and it set me free.
So, I no longer let things that I don't like he does slide.   As with kids, I address the issue right there and then.  He has learned to do likewise.
We also communicate better now. Because our past was humongously negatively affected by him -- he bends over backwards to gain my trust & to reciprocate, I do not nag, I do not see mamaws.

Nowadays, a hard look from me stops him from building up his rage or tantrum.
Silence & my not looking at his face makes him stop to ask "what's wrong?"
He has learned to call my attention or to correct me as required in a non-abusive way.  He learned the language of kindness and gentleness.

Continuing True Remorse & Reform deserves One More Chance nga. Sige.
So we are still 2 imperfect people working towards a perfect relationship. But this time, we both work at it & we are not imperfect in ways that would lead to burning bridges.

Nothing major naman so I have learned to accept these shortcomings:

1.  Does not have a passion for reading - I just talk about books with my bibliophile girl friends

2.  Hindi gaano cultured - I educate him about art, music (he likes pop and rap music hello!), good films, good food and the finer things in life and I influenced him to love travel so ngayon when we travel, I always squeeze in a bit of culture (be it a visit to a museum or a gallery or the like) in our trips. ;)

3.  Clueless sa gifts -  I tell him what I like and vice versa para peace kami  :)

4.  Sometimes impatient siya sa kids - I talk to him calmly once the episode is over and I send him articles on parenting, one time I even got a book, "Discipline Without Shouting or Spanking" and made him read, este, browse

5.  His habits that annoy me to death (e.g., not squeezing a tube of toothpaste from the bottom up, his penchant for making singit in traffic, eating chichiria inside our bedroom, etc.) - I just learned to accept for peace in the house hahaha

My husband is a wonderful man, nonetheless, and I guess these quirks and weaknesses make him who he is.  Nobody's perfect.
