Wow, parang how to save tips thread na ito. :-)

Practice minimalist living. Makakatipid kayo ng bongga mga sis. But I love the M-F box sa ref. :-)

I'm a fan of zero-waste living pero mahirap sya gawin. But the first step is kaya naman, yung sundin yung 5 Rs.

Pinaputol ko na yung internet ko when I moved in to bf's house.

200/day na agad for gas and parking.

Doon kasi nakatira parents namin :)

Well in general, ang istorya ng lifestyle namin ngayon eh living within our means. :)

^Ay oo nga. :)

ok yung taking advantage of your credit card's promos/rewards. like you earn points every purchase and yung may freebies. basta make sure lang na you will pay the balance by due date para walang interest or financial charge :)

I decided to buy my clothes sa mga tiangge or any online stores. Not a fan of made in china products pero eto yung isa sa mga bagay na can't do anything pero bibili pa din ng made in china clothes. Nakakamura talaga e. I buy my clothes and shoes before sa China websites pero tinigil ko na yun. Minimize ko na talaga.

Sa tours and travels ko, I decided to go DIY. Mas challenging sakin yun tsaka mas tipid pa ng malaki. In this way, mas nakikilala ko lalo ang isang lugar.

I always buy 10 pcs of chicken drumstick ,pero 4 lang kaming kakain and most of the time 6- 8 pieces lang naman nauubos sa isang kainan kasi lagi naman kaming may other viand pa like gulay or soup.

No need to iron
-Lessen the visit to the grocery. You will be tempted kasi to pick up items kahit hindi mo talaga need or matempt to buy snack or junk foods lalo na kung gutom ka while nag grocery. And that's another tip, eat at home before going to the grocery store

Yes, minimalist living.

I try to put a schedule and budget to everything. Like, going out for a dinner, movie, etc. I also try to stop myself from going out too often kasi madalas ang labas e mapapadami ako ng gastos. Even sa gasolina, I try to budget it. Kapag medyo paubos na pero hindi pa time para mag-gas ulit, i try to minimize my lakad. hehe Pati yung baon ng kids sa school, gumagawa ako ng plan. Dati kasi I buy anything sa grocery and I end up buying again sa kalagitnaan ng buwan with the same amount as my supposed budget for the whole month. I also make it a point to give kasi I always believe that the more you give, the more blessing you will receive.

I agree to the minimalist living.

Food and travel medjo hindi kame makakatipid kasi eating out nalang yung pinakaluho namin lalo na pag nagcrave or may bagong must try resto.

I dont watch movie sa movie house kahit nung single pako. SO tipid kame sa part na to kasi we're not obliged to watch mga blockbusters na must watch kuno, ewan ko ba hindi lang talaga ako mahilig. Kaya nakasanayan na din ni hubby na magdownload then may stock naman kame lage ng popcorn, chips or fries so atleast nakatipid nanaman kame sa gas and food kung sa mall.

Sa office madalas magbaon nalang unless magkayayayaan which is bihira naman kasi busy. My hubby do this as well kaya naman pag weekends we eat out talaga yun nalang bawi namin.

Coffee naman, basta wag nalang everyday Starbucks or CBTL unlike noon, paminsan minsan is okay lang naman.

Clothes, hindi naman talaga ako mahilig sa branded kaya no problem to sakin, except for bags, shoes and slippers na pangeveryday. Sa daughter ko lang minsan napapabili kame ng mahal kasi need nya ng matitibay na gamit kasi ang bata madali makasira like for example goggles sa swimming lessons nya, we bought the cheap one hindi pa man din nagamit sira na unlike yung speedo until now buo pa. So things like that, depende kung need ba talaga ng mahal para tumagal pag hindi naman dun nalang sa alternative.

May times we pay for convenience rather than magsayang ng time like requesting for docs, kung pwede online and padeliver ganun nalang kesa pumila ka ng ilang oras mas malaki mawawala sayo.

As much as possible, I only buy pag sale hehe. I like yun brands na kilala ko na for quality and longevity ng styles.  Kahit on sale, mas mahal sila compared sa cheap stuff but it pays off in the long run. Saka i only buy to replace items na hindi na kasya or di na ma-repair.  Not going to the mall helps din.

I rarely go to the mall minsan once a month lang or every 2 months hehe, kasi kahit wala kang plan to buy anything once andun kana matetempt ka ng bongga like pag may sale.

One more, sa office kasi namin nagbibigay sila ng sodexho for good performance, so ang ginagawa ko binibili ko yung sa kaofficemates ko example 2000 amount sodexho bnbli ko ng 1700-so a difference of 300 petots, eh groceries namn don't give discounts so atleast sa sodexho nakakatipid ako. I make sure lang na yung binibili ko pa din eh yung mga kailangan talaga  :)

Me, i advocate "investing" for the future.

Before im a hardcore saver but not as a investor. Until ive read the book of Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad Poor Dad).

Think about this ... 25 years ago the minimum tricycle fare was 1 peso and the Pop Cola was only 1.50. My mom's paycheck was 2k a month.

So in other words your savings is not safe by just the 1% savings interest and even the 3% time deposit interest.

Example ... if let say oooh ill just save the 1 peso and save in the future in bank at 1% savings acct. Fast forward after 25 years the peso will be only 1.92 pesos! But how much now the smallest Pop Cola? 5 or 7? Sorry i was working in abroad for 6 yrs now and very seldom to go home.

^ I agree. Eto yung isa sa Pinoy Saving Style na hindi maialis ng karamihan (Including me sometimes). Siguro natatakot na mawala in instant ang money that's why they just park it in a Bank. My dad was fooled in so many popular insurances in the 90s na nagbankrupt na ngayon... Ni isa wala ako insurance because of my dad's experience. He risked for nothing. Sayang nga e. Napakalaking halaga. Nawala ng parang bula (I estimate it's Millions). Anyway, going back to main topic. I decided to park half of my savings in the bank and half for something else na mag gegenerate ng money. Medyo maliit but hopefully mag generate ng malaki soon.

^You must be talking about pre-need companies like the infamous CAP. Those that sell education plans, memorial plans, pension plans, and etc. These are very different from life insurance companies; they are not one and the same. Those pre-need companies collapsed because they promised too-high returns, didn't foresee the sudden rise in tuition (among other things), and were severely affected by the 1997 Asian financial crisis. In contrast, no life insurance company in the history of the Philippines has ever folded up.

It is unwise to go without life insurance when you have dependents, debts, and other financial responsibilities. Ultimately, getting life insurance is your personal choice, but please do not base your decision on your misconception of your dad's experience.
