All About MMR or MMRV or Varicella Vaccines

Mommies:

Can you help me by letting me know what to expect in the few days (weeks?) after the administration of MMRV, MMR or Varicella vaccine? Like does it always result in the baby getting a fever and/or rashes? When should I expect fever to happen? How long will the fever last? And how about rashes? Are they the flat kind or magaspang like prickly heat? Or is it blistery like chicken pox?

My daughter never got sick after her mmr vaccine nor with the measles vaccine.

^Thanks sa feedback sis. My son has never gotten ill after any of his shots to date, pero people have told me that etong MMRV ang usually nagccause ng fever or rashes. So far since we got the injection, wala pa namang reaction, it's been 2 days na, he's his usual happy, cheerful, cheeky self and i'm keeping my fingers crossed he stays this way.

hindi pinayagan yung anak ko for MMR kasi my food allergies siya and skin ashma. Takot yung pedia baka matrigger ang allergies nya kasi usually daw pag my allergies si baby pag mag MMR magkakaroon daw ng rashes and patches sa balat and kawawa daw si baby. ngayon at 4 yrs old nagkaroon siya ng measles and grabe ang gaspang ng balat nya parang sandpaper.

^^Sis lgf08, that was his first dose. Pang 4 days na, Thank God, walang side effects pa. No fever, rashes, pananamlay, loss of appetite or anything! We are keeping an eye out for anything pero so far so good, mukhang strong boy talaga si baby! Yay!

^sis emjaydee - wawa naman si baby. Nung iinjectionan si baby, tinanong din yun ng mga nurses kung may allergies sya. Wala naman kaming alam (he is 13 months) na allegies nya so far, and thankfully ang problema lang talaga nya sa balat is bungang araw pag sobrang init (tulad nung nag bakasyon kami dyan sa Manila, 1st day palang, naglabasan na ang mga bungang araw!). Pano daw nadevelop ni baby mo yung food allergies?

Thats good for you sis buti di nagka reaction si baby but to answer your question, for MMR usually 3-10 days after the shot nag fefever ang baby and mild rashes and and for varicells vaccine (chickenpox) up to 3weeks after the shot may possibility mag fever and treat it with paracetamol lang. I just had my 2 daughters given these shots and yan din question ko, and yan [textspeak!] sabi ng pedia nila. So far they ok naman and no fever din
