Sis ang gusto ko kase yung buong reception, kung kaya, may string lights.

^Sis we have the same idea. Buong reception area ko na clear tent, may string lights. We will use 900-1000 bulbs so that it really looks like the sky. Warning lang, it WILL cost you. Quote sakin is 55-60k just for that. Excluded pa dyan ang generator (12-25k [textspeak!]) since hindi na kakayanin ng venue power most likely yung ganito kadaming lights. Hope this helps.

Ouch sis! Sige kalahati or one fourth(?) nalang ng venue? Hahaha! Mahal pa ng lights and sounds plus eto pa. Haaayy!! Tingin nalang kame ng reception mo sis. tee hee!..

^Better than drapes naman sis! Nakakasikip sa already "enclosed" feeling ng event venue pag may drapes eh.

At least kakaiba pag ganun kadaming lights, may mood talaga, and it's warm yellow so your pics will be nice. Fiance and I are super against the "colored" reception hues kasi na strong blues and purples and pinks yung pictures sa buong venue during the reception dahil sa L&S... sira lahat ng pics even ng guests.
So we will mix the warm yellows of the string lights with the colors of the L&S. Super lakas ng string lights... 10watts X 1000

 I've also seen it done with fairy lights, pero all the more super daming bulbs kung fairy lights. Ganda din, parang yung reception ni Heart sa Balesin.

^ 1000watts na kaagad string lights palang? Ang inclussive  lang ng venue is 1000 watts beyond that we nueed to pay 1k per wattage use. Is it too low? I don't have any ideas in this electrical stuffs!😄

^Sis, 10 watts per bulb yung papagawa ko X 1000 bulbs = 10,000 watts requirement namin ng power just for the string lights at the reception. My venue limit is just 6600 watts so we really will need to add a generator. Pati L&S ko naka generator because i have LED walls na malakas din sa power at di kakayanin ng venue.

I'm quite confuse as per my contract complimentary consumption of 1,000 watts electricity (5 hours). Mashado bang mababa yun?

^If you will have L&S, plus a band, plus additional string lights/ fairy lights then i think kukulangin.
Imagine 1000 watts can only power 100 bulbs of 10 watts each. Super konti lang nun when its actually installed. Usually 100 bulbs ginagamit for couple backdrops lang nga e sabi ng caterer ko.

Ours was 60watts each kaya medyo malayo sila sa isat isa.

^Yes sis mamey ang scarce tingnan pag 100 pcs ka lang of 10 watt bulbs for the venue. Kawawa haha. I've seen 100 bulbs done pero sa couples backdrop/ area lang, super konti lang nya.

^Sis angelofthemorning Im not worried abt heat because Dec wedding ako in Tagaytay I'm actually so worried about the cold i'll be providing scarves for the female guests. I attended end Dec and early Jan weddings there this year, it was freezing, it was hard to move! Makakatulong pa yung heat from the bulbs Plus, super taas naman sila around 13 or 15ft high sila installed sa tent ko (high-ceiling sya), and cool breeze will still be able to pass through below it Not sure pa anong distance between bulbs yung gagawin pero i guess mga 2 meters? Not so sure. Basta it will take daw mga 1000 bulbs for my 40 X100 ft tent. Ang lakas ng 60 watts mo omg!

^Hehe yes sis i really hope magmukhang madami. Good thing is, we already saw it executed (not firsthand, sa isang SDE lang) and we loved it so nadecide namin gayahin yung setup. Really excited to awe the guests with something different from the usual reception setup!

Hehe when i got engaged i had no idea we could do these things now, i thought i would end up with a indoor venue with usual drapes and crystals----like my brother's wedding sooo many years ago and many of the weddings i've been to... it's so exciting to get creative about the cool things we can do nowadays para maging special / different ang weddings natin To be honest string lights is getting more and more common as well but mahirap kasi sya gawin nang madami so konti lang usually nagagawa, yung scarce lang itsura pang beach / shoreline receptions.

Yeah, I agree that 100 bulbs would probably look a bit sparse for an entire reception -- we're doing 250 bulbs in a web formation, about 90cm apart, but we're not having a huge party.

sparklingjewel, I'd love to see that SDE you're talking about -- do you have a link?

We're after the vintage globe clear bulbs talaga sis, since rustic ang theme namin. Outdoor sya kaya kailangan medyo malakas yung wattage. Parang ganito

Mas mahaba lang yung cable namin pababa kase mataas yung puno ng mangga kung san sya sinabit. Buti nga kinaya naman ng venue, night before kinabit na namin sya sa venue tapos hinayaan namin hanggang madaling araw para malaman namin kung puputok hehe

Question mga sis, are you all getting clear tents with string lights? Saw a lot of pics sa pinterest and super ganda nga. Was wondering if it will work kaya on a white tent with silver frame? ito na kasi yung tent ng venue namin? ayaw kasi naman ng drapes. gusto lang maiba and we were aiming for a rustic theme so di na talaga bagay mag drapes.
