Thanks momsypips. When I inquired, yung semi private separated by a divider lang and common bathroom pa.  Parang di comfortable.

So anyway I called SLMC and it's 3,605 for a regular private room per day, and 10K for a suite. Of course exclusive of doctor's fees and other hospital fees.

Haha) kami dati before ako nanganak. Pero yun nga sa kabilang building. So we decided na regular private room na lang na nasa maternity wing. And iba-ibang type of patients din kasi sa wing na yun, so feeling ko mas madaming klaseng germs and bacteria din. Hehe..

Hi Mommies,

Has anyone tried having CAS here sa St. Lukes? If so, how was the experience and cost? I dunno if updated pa un alam ko which is 2997.98. Once nabigay na ni doc un reco, i'm eyeing for this hospital.

Thanks!

CAS and other preggy tests when I was pregnant lahat nagawa sa St Luke's. Mas kampante ako so even if a bit higher yung prices okay lang. Anyway, the CAS si Dra. The price meron naman discount na konti kaya sulit and not so heavy on the pocket.

^I had my CAS done at St. Luke's QC, by Dra. Acu as well. I wanted to do it at SLMC Global kasi we live near there, but my OB said mas kampante at mas tiwala daw sya sa staff ng Women's Health Care Unit ng SLMC QC, I dunno why, so we had it done there. The experience was great. It took us an hour or so. I really like Dra. Acu. She's very thorough and she'll make you feel at ease. Parang alam na alam nya ginagawa nya.

^^Good point about being in a different ward other than the maternity ward! We're eyeing the deluxe private room naman. Sana may available pa pag time na namin.

^I gave birth twice in QC deluxe private lagi request ko pero laging puno nung nanganak ako so they gave us the premier private. After one day meron na daw available na deluxe but we didn't transfer na because hassle besides mas maganda naman yung room. Yung bayad bale sa first day even if premier yung room binayaran namin as deluxe pero nung second day na na meron ng available na deluxe as premier na talaga. March and November yung months na nanganak ako. 3days ako nag-stay sa hospital, total bill around 120K the first time (2011) and the second time around 145K (2013), NSD with epidural pareho.

^Nasa ibang building yung room ko noon. Annex building tawag nila.

Actually my bills were kind of low pa compared to my friends even if same din type of room, doctors and delivery. My doctors kasi are my mom's colleagues (OB - Dra Palma, Anes - Dra Gervacio) so kahit papaano meron discount.😊

^I am sure the doctor is nice. They will even ask you if you prefer not to know the gender of the baby. As they do the scan they say a bit of description like 'those are the toes', 'that's the lungs', etc. and you'll have a printed report after but the final assessment will be interpreted by your OB sa yo. 😊

Jeannybaby, okay naman si Dra. Guinto. Pero nagstay kami kasi alam namin or kampante kami na magaling and all.

2k yun. Pag wala ultrasound, 800. Lahat ng tests ginawa sa st lukes.

Are you happy naman with your ob?  During my first CS, my hubby was present the moment the anaesthesia was injected on me.  It was a very relaxed experience that I wasn't so worried about my 2nd pregnancy.

Lo and behold, my OB was on vacation although sa text niya she said after christmas pa siya aalis.  Imagine my fear na someone I haven't met will handle me.  High risk pregnancy ako because wala pang 1 year from my last operation, nabuntis ako.  According to my ob, if my uterus erupts, it can cause death.  Anyway, just be careful with st lukes kasi you never know who you end up with na resident ob. I won't mention nalang the name of the one who handled me, siya dn nag attend sakin the first time and she wasn't very friendly and attentive.  When she came to assist me, I asked the nurse if there was someone else pero siya talaga yung nag handle sakin.  I had premonition na pala.  She was very negligent.  Even though I told her about my condition, and that I cannot have Vbac, tapos I having heavy contractions and may bleeding na talaga, she sent me home.  Magging premature daw kasi baby and wala pa OB ko.  Given the chance, I would prefer my ob kaya lang i was in excruciating pain.  To cut the story short, they sent me home and I just went back to give birth na.  6cm na pala ako, then emergency cs na.  It was a very bad experience.  Ang daming tao in the room, nagkakagulo, my husband didn't get to go inside right away like the first time, takot siguro na magkamali sila so they waited for the baby to come out before sending my husband in, na open up na ako ng resident obs before the reliever doctor came; My anaesthesiologist arrived to hold my hand nalang kasi a male doctor came in to inject. Even the pedia who came was a male doctor.  I was definitely put in my place.  Kahit willing kami to pay, in the end napabayaan kami.

^Agree. Hindi porket it's the model hospital for the Philippines you'll get superb treatment.

I gave birth there twice, okay nung una kasi yung OB ko nandun talaga pero the second one nagkataon na meron siya speaking engagement abroad. Ang reliever niya is the head of the ob-gyne dept so kampante ako na I will be in good hands. The entire time na wala pa yung reliever ng OB ko ang sungit ng resident OB. I asked for epidural and they told me that my preferred doctor is malayo daw at that moment kaya reliever din ang dadating. They assured me that the reliever na anes was trained by my preferred anes so nothing to worry. The reliever OB performed D and C so nabawasan na parang normal na lang. I went to my OB after a week for the regular check-up and okay naman except meron pa rin pagdudugo at sabi niya dapat mawala na. Pero tuloy tuloy pa rin pagdugo na parang meron ako mens ng more than a month. Tinamad ako magpacheck-up ulit so after a month na ako nakabalik. My OB ordered some tests (actually sinamahan niya ako kasi gusto niya makita mismo para daw mas kampante siya so kahit papaano napabilis magawa kasi meron doon tests na kailangan ischedule pero hindi na kasi pinakiusapan ni OB) kaya that afternoon din pinasok ako sa OR, either another D and C or hysterectomy. I am very grateful kasi D and C lang kailangang gawin. :)

- sis nicoletta and sis semira, very bad nga ng naging xp niyo with st. lukes. Tama ka din sis semira since its a model hospital, it will not guarantee pa din. Siguro in terms of facilities and equipment's talagang okay sila but not the service and quality of care. For me, napaka sensitive ng panganganak since 2 buhay nakasalalay dito. The fact pa na nagbayad ka para makuha un quality of care na hinahanap mo.

Ano pala ginawa niyo? Like you sayo sis semira, parang napabayaan and substandard ang case mo.

Same pala tayo ng story halos semira. If you don't mind, can you pm me the name of the resident doctor baka same tayo.  She was also very masungit.  I requested for the ob of my sister who is the head of the OB dept din but the nurses and resident doctors insisted sa reliever ng ob ko (which hindi ko kilala at that time).

Ang masakit pa, I don't have issues with payment. I work hard so I don't have to worry about these things and that if anything happens to me, I will be taken cared of. I haven't finished my incident report yet, lately pa lang naging maayos ang pakiramdam ko.

Nagfile ka ba ng incident report so this resident doctor can be reprimanded?

Oo nga what happened to you and semira was so unfortunate! Good that you're writing an incident report. Dapat lang mareprimand yung mga people involved, at the very least. Then hopefully mabago nila some policies about patient care, para naman sa future patients nila. Hospitals aren't supposed to be purely about profit and business. First and foremost is still patient care.

Hi nicoletta.. That's sad to hear naman of your unpleasant experience.. Well, kalagitnaan or so ng pregnancy ko I really want to change ob na kasi nga si ob hindi masyado chummy sa amin hehe pero si hubby ko lang nagpilit na dun na lang kami coz magaling daw and all. Nung natry namin CAS kay Dr Fernandez ata yun, exact opposite ata ni ob kasi jolly & halatang mabait. Si ob ko parang very professional aura nya for me..

Come to think of it, okay naman pala experience ko kasi mababait sila, even the anaes, pati the female nurse na sabi nya hawakan ko daw sya kasi nanginginig ako bago turukan.

Except sa wala asawa ko nung hiniwa ako at hindi nya nawitness kunin anak nya sa tiyan ko waaa kasi the whole time naririnig ko si Dra "asan si mister?" Hay nako late pinapasok ng kung sino! Ewan ko ba... Argh
Pagpasok nya, sabi nya nilinis daw si baby konti, tinimbang tapos pinatong sakin at pinasuck. Pero hindi ko yun maalala.. Bat kaya?! Kaya next time, lagay ko yun sa birth plan, wala tuloy kami first family pic. Hmp

May isang male nurse sa room, sya naglilipat sakin at taga bend ko nung epid time. Grabe kaba ko nun at praning, bago ako hiwain parang sinabi ko pa ata eh may nafifeel pa ako kaya wag muna ako hiwain! Yikes

I'm also thankful sa resident ob/nurse kasi nga nung nagdrop heartbeat ni baby as in naging 50 (because of the nipple test, please do not do this at home, nasstress pala si baby) ang galing, i forgot the term pero IE ako ni resident ob, hinahawakan ulo ni baby! Pinastable nya heartbeat ni baby.. Kalowka yun ha, dami ko naisip that time.. Oh my scary..

So sad naman. Saka naicompare mo talaga na magkaibang magkaiba ang first panganganak mo. Kakainis yung ganun no? Update us sa incident report mo.. Pero mas malala siguro manganak sa fabella... Sinabi mo ba kay ob mo experience mo sis?

Sis semira, hay nako grabe yan sino yung head ng dept? Hehe pm me.. :)

Sorry guys ang haba.... ✌🏻️

^Sis is your doctor, Dr. Jing Fernandez? I am also looking for a new OB preferably in St. Luke's Global City. I'm currently on my 23+3 weeks. My present OB kasi is in MMC. She was my OB since I was single. Eh since I have placenta previa and we just live in BGC, it would be practical, just in case of emergency, if we get a doctor in St. Luke's.

I want sana OB who is also a Sonologist also. Right now kasi my OB is not,  so I have my US done in MMC DR and then I bring the results to her. She doesn't check the images, she only relies on the report done.

Who are your recommended doctors? I'm thinking of Dr. Guinto and Dr. Jing Fernandez, based sa nababasa ko here...

Also, okay Lang ba to change OBs? What steps do I have to take to? Need ko pa ba mag paalam sa old OB ko?

Thanks in advance! 😀
