BTW, you're right about that these floors must not be scratched. sadly, learned it the hard way. a delivery man scratched a big one in my room for my bed frame. ayun, hirap na sya matanggal. very unsightly. so far, i covered it with a rug pero di kasi sya strategically dun sa dapat may rug or carpet kaya i plan to paint it over with a "shellac". yun ang sabi nila about shellac. Don't have much an idea what it is though.

^Hindi ba kayang ma-buff yung scratch until it disappears?  If hindi madala sa buffing or sa shellac/varnish, baka naman pwedeng tanggalin yung part ng floor na may malaking scratches tapos palitan ng bago.  Usually panel by panel naman yung floor, so this might be one solution.  Worst case scenario e you might have to permanently put a rug there na lang.  Not sure if meron sa S&R ng Swiffer, worth checking out.

One thing I realized is to mix domex with water and put it in a hand spray.  I run out of clorox spray and used this as an alaternative.  I just spray it in a damp cloth and wipe everything like walls, tables and chairs.  Mas madami pa akong napupunasan at the same time nakakadisinfect.

Anong okay panlinis sa couch/sofa/sofabeds? My husband's so messy! he eats everywhere! Hate the stench ng food and pawis sa couch! kapikon!

^ Anong material ng sofa mo, leather ba, plastic, or tela?  Gamitan mo muna ng vacuum para matanggal yung crumbs especially sa mga sulok.  If leather or plastic yung material, pwede ka gumamit ng basahin na slightly damp para mapunasan and matanggal yung dumi or oils dun sa surface pati yung amoy ng food.  Pwede mo lagyan ng konting dishwashing liquid yung cloth if sa tingin mo e super dumi or malagkit yung surface.  Basta ang importante e hindi mababad sa basa yung material kapag leather siya, so you have to wipe it dry afterwards, tapos gamitan mo ng something that would help moisturize the leather, like Pledge.

If tela yung surface, ipalaba mo yung cover and yung foam kung removable siya.  If not, maybe you could try spot cleaning yung areas na may stains or yung super amoy pagkain, tapos ibilad mo sa araw para matuyo or gamitan mo ng hairdryer.

You can try to use deodorizing sprays para matanggal yung amoy, like Lysol or Febreze or kung anong essential oils or perfume ang gusto mo.

Try mo sis na yung husband mo ang pagawin mo ng heavy lifting pag lilinisan na yung couch, like sa pagpihit from the wall or corner pag mag-vavacuum and pag ibibilad na yung couch sa araw para matuyo.  Tapos bili ka ng stuff to clean it, like Plege, Lysol, Febreze, iba pang pang-moisturize and waterproof ng leather if leather yung couch niyo.  Pag narealize ng husband mo kung gaano nakakapagod and time-consuming and magastos ipalinis yung couch, baka matauhan siya and he'll stop making a mess.  You can have the couch professionally cleaned din, pag nakita niya yung bill for that e siguradong manghihinayang siya na dumihan uli yun

^ No prob sis   Maybe you can try na haplusan ng baking soda yung sofa and iwanan yun for a day or so, baka makatulong siya ineutralize yung odor.  Tapos lagyan niyo na lang ng afghan or quilt yung sofa, kunwari for decoration pero para may barrier between your husband and the sofa pag nakaupo siya dun, hopefully yun yung madudumihan and not the sofa mismo.  Good luck sis!

i've seen some homes where they cover the sofa with bed sheets esp the fitted sheets for everyday use.  it catches all the crumbs and the sweaty smell as well, so iyon na lang ang nilalabhan.
i also use febreeze a lot to get rid of the smell everywhere. as much as it lets the dust in,  i open the windows to air out the place,  no insects kasi my screen naman.
pledge for wood furniture, windex for glass surfaces, mop and glow for ceramic tiles, tilex in the bathroom, very effective siya for mold and mildew, simple green for granite, forgot the brand for stainless steel.
for toilet bowls,  ajax or comet powder with bleach.
i used to spend a lot on cleaning supplies but not anymore,  i got a cleaning service na and they use their own supplies.  yey,  [size=78%] so worth it.     [/size]

det060403, if the sofa is too difficult to clean, tawag ka muna ng professional sofa cleaner tapos pa advice ka na rin sa kanila how to maintain it.

kapag naglilinis ng house i always use dry rags unless sasabunin/i-baking soda ko yung area na yun and kailangan tuyuin kasi nag-iiwan ng water spots, including washroom cleaning.

halimbawa for walls (once a year): dust first, scrub using scotch-brite with baking soda&water, rinse, and dry. i think if you can wipe your walls every other day, mas mabuti.

for horizontal blinds, old socks. i put my hand inside, then swipe every blade.

for refrigerator, soap (yellow joy), rinse, then dry.

for polyurethane flooring, walis then lampaso. you can also use slightly damp cloth kung sinisipag.

for tiles (including washroom), walis then mop with soap (green axion) and water then rinsex3. pero once a week, i scrub using scotch-brite, a little water and baking soda (yung parang naglalampaso ka), rinsex3. never ever zonrox, kasi yung kitchen cabinets nakalaminate ng gray so kapag nalagyan yun magse-stain, which i learned the hard way dahil my old housekeeper is so fond of zonrox.

disinfect your light switches and convenience outlets too.
clean light bulbs/chandeliers every 6 months.

kahit anong linis mo sis if hubby does that every day mahihirapan kang i maintain. can he make it a habit to eat sa dining table instead? pag di pa thorough ang linis mo e lalanggamin pa yan.

or get na lang less difficult to maintian na couch.

kami bawal ang food sa bedroom and living room. we rarely bring snacks even relax time or watching movie sa sala. even the kids are not exempted. baliktad naman tayo, this rule was from my husband naman. hehe.

Actually nasasabihan ko naman na siya ngayon. Hindi naman na siya makalat lately. Kaya lang yung dirt and odor na naiwan na sa couch ang medyo pinoproblema ko ngayon. So today pinabilad ko sa kanya yung couch (syempre pinagbuhat niya din ako! grr!) tska pinalaban ko nalang ulit yung covers nung pillows. Try ko yung ibang suggestions niyo kung hindi umepek yung bilad sa araw later today... sana wag umulan hehe...

@quinone dark gray sis! cloth material. So far hindi naman siya nagfade. tska nawala nga yung odor nung binilad namin pero nung pinasok namin nung hapon amoy araw na siya haha pati yung bahay. Kadiri! hahahaha pero nawala din after so. buti nalang hihi!

Sa room, vaccuum lang then mop it with bleach mixed with water or mr. muscle or domex minsan. Pag tipid naman baking soda + vinegar + water na lang ang pang mop
