Wow, kalerks. Tapos monday to friday lang.

It's so much nicer than Santuario de San Antonio and for the venues, andami sa Tagaytay na mas maganda kaysa sa Casa Real. Also, mabilis ma book ang Caleruega kahit gano kalayo pa ang desired wedding date mo. Mas mura pa yun.

And with regards to your guests, if they really love the couple they won't mind extending an effort to witness your marriage. Just ny two cents. :)

Medyo pa-humble at pessimistic siguro ako si juwie :P or mahiyain ba tawag dun? haha! :) wow nalalapitan pala kayo sa caleruega! magle-leave pa kami ni jowa in case talaga pumayag syang cale ang venue para lang iabot yung reservation fee. grabe long driving! :P sana lang talaga wala muna makaisip ng same date as ours.

blackgreen, my friends got married in Baguio and we paid for our own gas, toll and accommodations. :) Don't worry about it. If your guests really love and support you guys, gagawan nila ng paraan yan. What I did appreciate is that my friends gave us a list of hotels and rates from budget to high-end so that we could plan our expenses.

our wedding will be in the province and we have a lot of guests coming in from manila, u.s., singapore, and other parts of the world. our guests will be shouldering their travel expenses to the province. on our wedding website, we gave them a list of recommended hotels, restaurants, and activities. on the wedding day itself, we will provide vans for the guests to pick them up from their hotels, bring them to the church, then to the venue, and then back to their hotels. i don't think guests will mind those travel expenses because they are there because they love the couple and it's also a chance for them to explore a new place :-)

^the couple will have to book a guest house for the wedding guests and suppliers.. coz they arrive a day before the event eh.. (If suppliers are from manila) but if you have trusted baguio-based wedding suppliers, much better..bawas isipin.

It's not required to shoulder transportation and accommodation of guests but it's a nice gesture especially if they're coming from very far places.

Kung walang budget, at least score discounts or find affordable alternatives for them.

Ang entourage, pwede pagusapan kaso kung sa kanila na attire, make up, etc parang too much na kung pati accommodation sila pa. Unless sila mismo nagoffer?

Ang families ng couple, required yun☺

yup, correct. parang too much to ask na. i will scout for affordable ready to wear dress sa divi para naman kahit papano, may naiambag ako, hindi lang pagkain.

My friends and I are attending a wedding on Bohol this May. The couple didn't pay for anything and guests lang talaga kami but we don't mind kasi we are really happy for them. :) what they did was tell us in advance na hindi nila kaya sagutin yung travel expenses namin pero sana makapunta pa rin daw kami. And they also scouted hotels, resorts and room rates and asked a resort to give discounted room rates.

Sa case namin, we will have guests coming from UK, Dubai, SG etc. Pero they will all shoulder their travel fares. Pati gowns nila nag insist sila na sila na magbabayad. Mga ka close ko sila so I guess they don't mind.

I've seen some couples recommending hotels and b&bs to stay at.  Coordinate na lang with the accommodations.  I believe if you will endorse the place naman to your guests, they can give your guests a discount.

May nakita akong invite details nakalagay, "The couple will be staying at KYEME HOTEL.  Join us, and give the front desk the code COUPLECODE to avail of the 15% discount."

Thanks sis j.adore! Sa amin pala talaga yun transportation and accommodation ng immediate families. Pero pag yun other relatives okay lang kahit di namin sagot?

@vitug.annie, nag-scout na kami sa Baguio for suppliers. Sayang din kasi yun additional OOT fee ng Manila-based suppliers.

For super close friends, I think I need to talk to them heart-to-heart. Hahhaa..

^agree ako dun sa hahanapan mo sila ng discounted hotels or accommodations.. pero aminin naten, meron at meron parin talagang hindi kakayanin na gumastos ng ganon, even if super close pa kayo.. kaya think about it muna and see for yourself hanggang saan yung kayang icover ng couple at ayun nga, inform the guests early... :) ang hirap siguro kapag super OOT like boracay.  :-\

Hi blackgreen, my fiance and I are having a destination wedding outside of the Philippines -- we're from two different countries kasi and our friends are all over the world na (my bridesmaids are living in four different countries).

We aren't paying for everyone's travel expenses as we can't afford it (and I think that's totally understandable, as long as di magtampo when people can't come), but we chose a destination that's relatively affordable and we asked hotels in the area for discounted rates.

We are paying for the following: accommodations for our immediate families (3 nights), attire for bridesmaids/groomsmen, and hair and makeup for bridesmaids/family; and we're heavily subsidizing the cost of accommodations for our bridesmaids/groomsmen (3 nights also).

We are providing lunch for everyone who's getting ready with us on the wedding day, and if budget allows we'd like to host a welcome dinner the night before or an informal pool party the day after.

^hi sevenstars,
Are you getting suppliers from Philippines as well?

I have entourage members, like my MOH and PS who are from the same country I am right now, and like 4 guests, and I won't shoulder their expenses too.

Hi vitug.annie, all the gowns will be from the Philippines (my bridesmaids had their measurements done over Christmas and my future mother-in-law is planning a trip there in the next few months). Baka yung gown ko na lang hindi because it's easier for me to get something RTW and have it altered here, but I'm still considering Vania Romoff and Maureen Disini. I want to get my favors from home, too, and I'm planning on bringing over some decor items. I might have my invitations printed there as well.

I thought about flying in a makeup artist, but the cost is the same as hiring at the destination. I was looking at P/Vs from Manila too, but we ended up deciding on a non-Philippine photographer. Still not sure about video!

^thanks sis vitug.annie. All of my close friends alam na yun kasal ko, so ang kelangan na lang namin pag-usapan is kung willing ba sila gumastos. One of my friends told me to think about it if it will be practical to invite friends, kasi pwede na daw ipang-gift ng friends yun cost ng transportation and acccommodation. Honestly, medyo na-hurt ako dito kasi isa pa naman siya sa iniisip kong mag-aall out support but I guess she's just being practical.
