galing naman sis Annie.M!
very practical and sulit. :D
may i ask kung san ka nagpagawa ng bridal & ento gowns? i'm not planning on spending a lot on gowns kase.. baka pwede mo marefer yung supplier mo. :)

yung dress ko sis, off-the-rack sa adora greenbelt. i think ang tatak nya is 'tyler for adora.' simpleng long white dress lang.

yung sa maid of honor and bridesmaid, i simply bought for them this dress:
http://www.ebay.ph/itm/Infinity-Convertible-Multiway-Long-Dress-Gown-/151413347623?pt=PH_Women_s_Clothing&hash=item2340f05527

hindi yan exactly pero ganyan din, multi-way dress. wala na stock yung seller na pinagbilhan ko pero yan din yun more or less. since it's multi-way, bahala sila mamili what style suits them :) they really liked it kasi magagamit nila ulit.  :D

eto rin maganda, and reasonably priced:

I know this style if not for everyone, pero for us, masaya naman. We are not really the type na comfortable with being the center of attention sa reception, so we chose to forego yung usual programs (yung mga may projector and presentation , dance, etc.) Don’t get me wrong—I appreciate those pag uma-attend ako ng ibang weddings, but for us, hindi lang talaga bagay sa personality namin.

We are a lot like you. When we decided to get married, we initially planned for a "full" wedding. Eventually we realized na masyado kaming nagpapadala sa convention and hindi talaga namin style ang ganun. Ayaw din namin yung center of attention kami e. I started to dread the day instead of being excited for it. We talked and we agreed that we want is to have it in a small chapel, dinner sa resto for our family and closest friends, and then rent a friend's bar where we can invite all our friends, be casual, at mag games!

After agreeing to this, the planning was so much easier. We were able to reduce our budget to 150K for everything.

Wow, excited for your honeymoons! Kami kasi we have a super kulit 2 year old son na who hasn't ever been away from me since he was born kaya I really don't want to leave him for a couple of weeks. We can't bring him with us naman kasi he's at the stage where he's turning into a rascal na but still wears diapers and drinks formula pa kaya medyo hassle if we go out of the country.  :P

How Much Do Weddings Cost In The Philippines?

Love don’t cost a thing, but weddings can cost a pretty penny. That might be one of the factors as to why fewer Pinoys are tying the knot these days — according to the NSO, the number of registered marriages has been steadily declining since 2009. There are so many expenses to worry about in life already, so setting aside a giant chunk of money for one day of celebrations might seem unreasonable.

But we Pinoys are very romantic, so we like our weddings. And having a wedding in this economy doesn’t have to be a burden. You just have to know your budget and plan around that. To give you a better idea, we’ve divided up wedding expenses into three categories: essentials, major, and minor. Read on and find out what expenses you have to prepare for to have the wedding of your dreams and start your life of matrimonial bliss:

The Essentials
Without these, you can’t have a wedding. These are the bare minimum expenses you will need.

Marriage license. You will need to get this from your local registry office. The bride- and groom-to-be fill out this form together (he on the left, she on the right), and submit it to the municipal office. Fees vary depending on the city; for example, the total fee for Quezon City is P320, while in Cebu it’s P250. And if one of you is not a Filipino national, there will be additional fees, at around P1,000 depending on the municipality, and more forms required.

Certificate of No Marriage. It does what it says on the tin — certifies that you are not married. Some churches require this. Philippine embassies can also request this if you’re getting married in a foreign country, and you’ll need it if your spouse will be filing for a fiancée visa on your behalf. This costs P400 per copy (or $25 if the request is made from abroad).

NSO birth certificate. Some municipalities require an NSO birth certificate when you apply for a marriage license. This costs P140.

Baptismal certificate. A must for church weddings, along with a confirmation certificate. The fees for these can vary. Churches require a “for marriage purposes” stamp on the baptismal certificate, so you can’t use your old one; you’ll have to get a new one.

Major Expenses
These are the major components of a traditional wedding. The cost of them depends greatly on your budget, taste, and number of attendees.

Church. If you’re going to have a church wedding, you’ll need to prepare a lot of documents and attend a few seminars. But the big expense here is the fees for the church, which can vary greatly. For example, making a reservation at St John Bosco Parish in Makati costs P17,000 (without air-conditioning, P22,500 with). Meanwhile, Malate Catholic Church has an “economy” rate of P5,000 for weekday weddings — and if you’re a parishioner there, you can get a 50% discount on that rate. Some churches offer all-in packages. For P140,000, Mt Carmel Parish in Quezon City will provide invitations, flowers, catering, and photo/video services. A less expensive alternative is the kasalang bayan, or group weddings that are sponsored by the local municipality, sometimes in cooperation with a church, and are free.

Reception. This will be the most costly major expense. According to kasal.com, City Garden Suites Manila is one of the most affordable venues in Manila — their rates for a complete wedding package range from P44,750 (50 pax) to P167,720. The cost of a reception depends on how many people will be attending, the menu, and the venue.

Wedding attire. Those on a budget can find wedding gowns for as low as P2,500. Boutique bridal stores offer dresses at a range of P15,000 – P40,000 and beyond. The cost of the attire will depend greatly on your style and budget.

Photography and Videography. Of course, you’ll want to relive your big day with photos and videos of the event. If you want professional photography, basic rates can start at around P25,000. Video services can start at around P40,000. If you want to save yourself the trouble and get a package including both, expect to pay around P60,000 — and if you want extras like same-day editing or a prenup video, this will cost extra, starting at around P90,000 for an all-inclusive package.

Makeup. Hiring a professional hair and makeup stylist for a wedding can set you back by as much as P20,000, depending on the stylist. Some packages are bride only (which can cost around P6,000), some include both bride and groom, and some include an additional two heads, such as bridesmaids.
Honeymoon. If you go to a local honeymoon hotspot such as Club Paradise in Palawan, you’ll spend around P50,000 for a honeymoon package. If you want to go abroad, expect to spend even more.

Minor Expenses
These are the little expenses that can add up if not planned for. Not having these won’t kill your wedding, but they are nice to have.

Invitations. This can range from P15 each for a basic invitation, or much higher if you choose fancier options such as customized designs, letterpress printing, thermography, and others.

Souvenirs. Shops like Papemelroti have souvenirs from P20 and up. If you buy in bulk from a vendor, you can negotiate a lower price.

Gifts for sponsors. Don’t forget to show your appreciation for your sponsors with a thoughtful gift. You could get a bottle of wine for P800, or a personalized Filipiniana clock for P500.

Accommodations. If family and friends are going to travel from abroad to the wedding, they’ll need accommodation. If you can’t house them all, you can contact a hotel for group bookings to get a discount on room rates.

Of course, our list above doesn’t include every single expense. So depending on what kind of wedding you want to have, you could spend as little as P200,000, or as much as P1 million and beyond.

If all these expenses sound like a headache, remember that it’s not the extravagance of your wedding that determines the happiness of your married life. Instead, think of the wedding ceremony as a simple celebration of your love. What’s important is your loved ones will be present on your big day and everyone is happy.

Start preparing for your wedding now and find the best savings account for your needs.

:D i know same tayo ng supplier for Video pero dba ang pinaka all-in package nila is 80K? or may mga add-ons ka? :)  actually they have a promo now na less 5K, so yung all in package nila should only be about 75K.... Although they told me that they will have a price increase ng September.

xxIcePrincessxx, I availed yung aerial shot.  :) Pero baka bumababa pa nga, we're haggling with them.

I'm not proud of it, pero mukhang we'll end up at 1 million sarado. I've been telling fiance to go easy on this maski na I'm a bit maarte myself kasi I don't believe in spending that much for a single day, pero he kasi has high standards kaya ayun. Nakakaloka lang kasi we didn't even get any high end suppliers, so parang the weddings you see in magazines with all the sikat names probably cost at least P 2 million.  :o According pa to the people we talk to, weddings these days cost 1.2-1.3 million on average.

We're in the same boat sis. Kame naman, we settled on a 1M flat budget. Pero as of now, I'm hitting 1.1M+ na, at madami pang kulang. Mix of mid and high-end suppliers with 120 guests only. Our wedding is going to be in Tagaytay. We splurge on the reception/prep location and food. One of the supplier that made our budget shoot up is the florist, which is Teddy Manuel. For a church styling and entourage flowers alone, he quoted us a whopping 98k. and I only have a total of 14 entourage including me and principal sponsors na. BUT until now, I didn't give downpayment yet kasi nga I'm having a second thought. Knowing that you can't keep the flowers forever, malalanta lang din, nakakapanghinayang. Except for my bouquet that I'm planning to have it preserve. Eh how about all the flowers from the church and entourage? After nun, wala na. Kaya even if I really like the proposal of Teddy Manuel at ang ganda talaga ng mga works niya,  sya ang naiisip ko na ma-cut from my dream supplier list. I'm thinking to just get a florist from Tagaytay area. Malaki ang matitipid. haaaay.... I need to be practical!

Ang mahal ni Teddy manuel! Try mo si Joel Faller sis. Affordable yun rates nya and his styling is ok naman. If you think that the flower stylist is not a major supplier, wag na lang magsplurge. Sayang un mase-save mo, you can use it sa ibang pwede paggastusan like giveaways/souvenirs. :)

sis Annie M, how about yung HMUA, gift for principal sponsors and flowers boquet and entourage?

Hi sis,

Wala akong HMUA, kasi I know how to do my own. Okay naman kinalabasan.
Yung flowers, handmade satin flowers. Parang ganito:

http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjQ3WDc1MQ==/z/z3IAAOxyEFFTlru4/$_35.JPG

Meron instruction about how to make it yourself kung may time ka and kung type mo din yung ganun: http://www.fabartdiy.com/how-to-make-fabulous-bridal-satin-flower-bouquet/

Ang benefit from this is I got to keep the bouquets as remembrance.

Wala kami gift to the principal sponsors eh. We only had 2 pairs. Siguro padalhan ko this Christmas.

the reason why there are some suppliers whose fees/rates skyrocket is because there are brides willing to pay for those ridiculous amounts. 150k for wedding documentation? 150k for flowers/styling? some brides only have 150k to budget for a whole wedding... just something to ponder on for those who can't seem to manage their budgets.

I agree with sis fionapple. suppliers know kasi if its a wedding people are willing to fork over big bucks. An example is this famous designer. I asked how much a fully beaded gown was an even pointed out a gown he did for some celebrity. the assistant quoted me 85k. I pretended that i needed a gown for my parents' Golden Wedding anniv. But when i asked how much wedding gowns cost. they said it was 180k starting price for the simple design. i found that ridiculous since the gown i asked that was priced at 85k was super intricate and was even worn by a hollywood host made by that filipino designer.

however, we cant complain bec honestly ganon naman talaga lahat!! oh well... i was tempted for a while to order a gown and not say its a bridal gown since i dont want naman talaga a white bridal gown but a nude colored intricate evening gown. but i decided against it bec i dont think regular gown orders involve as many fittings as a bridal gown. and i want lots of fittings talaga.

^true sis! same thing happened to me. i asked an old colleague (she's a fresh fashion design grad) how much yung peg ko na dress (didn't tell her it was my wedding gown peg), she quoted my 18k which i found reasonable. when he asked me who the gown is for sabi ko for me, since i'm getting married already. she then told me na ang cheapest nya na wedding gown is 30k. so sana pala di ko na lang sinabi na wedding gown ko yun! haha

a friend of mine who got married two years ago ganun ang ginawa nya, nagpatahi sya ng white long dress sa isang known na designer. so yun mas nakamura sya. the accessories lang she had to DIY since hindi sya kasama sa package nung gown, but still.

Yeah..may point ka sis..at sa kagustuhan narin na maging maganda ang outcome ng wedding without putting much stress on it. However,  for us to find an affordable but good supplier, you have to spend time searching for their craft, which is probably at some point, hindi na kayang gawin ng ibang bride due to time constraints..then end up getting a good but pricey one.

For me and my fiance kase gusto namin simple pero elegante ng konti yung wedding. We do not splurge much sa mga designer's items or sobrang branded na products. Kaya todo research si fiance sa mga good deals pero quality ang products and services. Si fiance kase, well sabihin na natin he's from family na well-off at ako naman eh wala talagang kayamanan (literally).

kaya tuloy nung naginquire na ako sa ibang designers, ang banat ko agad is to ask them if they can work on my budget..payo ni h2b, wag daw ganun ang ibanat ko kasi baka magmukhang kawawa ako sa paningin nila.. bakit eh poor at kurips naman talaga ako..  :P

^ regarding on the suits. for the groom kasi usually mas mahal na fabric ang ginagamit and it's tux, with tie and vest. if simple suit lang, just like for the entourage, they use cheaper fabric and it consist of polo, pants, and coat only. and usually when you say "designer" they already established a name in the industry, so you're paying for their "brand name" also.
just like when buying shoes, it only serves one purpose, comfort in our feet. but why others prefer to buy in the mall or branded ones than those in the market/tiangge? coz they want to pay extra for the quality, style and standard of comfort. ika nga, "you get what you pay for".
but don't get me wrong, i don't say that expensive are always better. there a lot to choose from that offers a competitive price and comes with great quality too, you just need to unleash the hunter in you. research, inquire, and compare for the best deals. and lastly, follow your instinct. if you think that the suppliers' quotation on you doesn't prove the quality of their work at feeling mo pinagkakakitaan ka lang nila, so why still push through?
