Salary for househelp?
« on: April 18, 2014, 08:14:50 pm »
Hi sisses and bros,

Recently relocated back to the Philippines after being out of the country for 10 years. As of now I don't have any househelp yet but will need one by next month and I was wondering how much is the starting pay of an all around maid (help watch over my toddler, clean, tidy up,errands and at least basic knowledge how to fry/cook rice) and a family driver? I will be based in Santa Rosa in Laguna and I've heard iba daw pag provincial rate? I don't know of any maid agencies there and I would prefer the driver local lang sana coz I prefer a live out driver.I'm not really used to having other people live with me and even the maid can also be live out  sana. If anybody knows a maid agency locally (south luzon)? that would be of great help. Thanks!
It is our choices that show what we truly are,far more than our abilities

Sis, it's really difficult to get house help now a days especially if you require the maid to care for your toddler and do house hold chores.  Saamin nga, we only require the maid to clean, and do basic cooking and so far we have not had any luck with 3 of the agencies we have tried.  Starting is 3,500, then after a month, the maid expects an increase plus the benefits.

For a newborn yaya, the starting is between 6k to 7k  ;)

I'm paying mine 4,500 a month plus SSS pag ibig and philhealth. Ok naman siya so far, one year mahigit siya samin.

3k since nag start pa lang siya this month of July, sagot ko na snacks and toiletries at pamasahe pag day off bale abutin rin 3.8k yon,pag nag date kami ni hubby maiwan anak namin kay hh may additional siya 300 kasi 3 hrs lang naman kami nawawala sa house at saka 3 1/2 na baby ko malaki na yon di na mahirap alagaan..all around siya pero sakto lang yon kasi 60sqr. meter lang naman yung unit namin so di siya mapapagod, ako pa taga luto ng ulam and hands-on ako sa toddler namin..kung umabot siya ng 1 year tuloy-tuloy saka na ko mag increase kasi as of now di pa ok na gawin ko siya 3.5k kaka start pa lang niya lagi nga siya tulog..

i start my yaya at 4K and give her an increase after 3 months. she lives with us, goes to school with my daughter and basically watches over her while we are at work. we also have an all-around maid. she has the same salary but she only stays with us for 3 days every week. she does laundry, plancha, basic cooking, cleaning. the rest of the week, we pick up after ourselves. the system works for us this way.

as far as drivers are concerned, you can get a stay out driver naman. starting is usually 10K afaik. but you can also check what their asking is. yun lang kasi yung alam ko based on what my friends pay their driver.

I'm from Bulacan sis, yung househelper namin started at 3k, pero she doesn't need to take care of my kids. Minsan lang she needs to help by mom na tingnan yung isang bata pag busy sya sa alaga dun sa isa. I think if all around, at least 4k starting nya. Sa driver naman, nasa 3-4k din ang starting. I don't know if it is because of the provincial rate kaya medyo mababa pero ganun ang normal na rate ng househelpers dito sa amin. Yung mga all around helpers ng mga in-laws ko who lives in Pasig and Manila, nasa 4k-5k ang starting nila. :)

I used to have a yaya/hh - alaga sa daughter ko, hatid sundo sa school (walking distance), linis sa bahay, laundry. Every week ang off. I paid her P3000 plus SSS and Philhealth, free toiletries. Ako na yung nagluluto ng food namin before.

Yung sa driver, my former boss pays her driver P8K pero since resto owner yung boss ko nabibigyan yung driver ng service charge and tip (half share) kasi he helps out naman.

^^Sinabi saan? Dun sa PinoyExchange thread? Naku, 'di ko na maalala. Search for the thread na lang on those forums. Pero parang mataas pa nga yang 3k and 5k. LOL.

We are based in cebu.
Yaya- 4k/month. She goes with my son to school. 4 yrs old na son ko so di na alagain, everything else ako na gumagawa like washing, sterilizing the bottles, feeding, bathing, etc. she has to watch over my son lang when i need to do something. I have a 1 yr old baby din pero im the only one who takes care of her.

Helper A gets 3k per month, while helper B & C get 2.5k/month coz they just started a month ago, both 18 yrs old at wala pang experience so needs training pa. Planning to increase their salary once dumating yung replacement who's starting salary is 3k para walang inggitan.

We provide their toiletries and snacks (twice a day). They eat the same food as ours. Plus sss, philhealth, 13th month etc

It's just me, hubby and the 2 kids in the house. Im a full time mom pa so ako talaga taga-alaga sa kids. But i feel na mas pagod pa ako kesa sa kanila na andaming rest time, daig pa ako sa tagal ng pahinga at bakasyon nila

Yes I think that's what they are saying.  For all around help yan kasi starting for yaya in manila is 6k.  The maids in our place are makwenta, they compare jobs, duties and salaries kaya nga paaalisin ko na ngayon maid namin.  4,5k siya and parang gusto pa yata ng increase dahil a little over 6 months na siya.  She doesn't cook food all the time by the way, walang kusa.

I have 1 yaya and 2 helpers now, puro bago pa.. One helper started around nov last year, starting salary was 2500 lang coz no experience at all, andami pang nabasag/nasira na gamit at mahilig magbakasyon.  She's on her 6th month now so gagawin ko ng 3k..the other one naman has been with us since january, starting salary is 3k, masipag at satisfied ako sa trabaho nya so im planning to increase her salary to 3500 on june, while the 3rd helper naman started this month lang, deaf and mute but we decided to hire her pa din, at pantay na lang din sweldo nya coz nakakaawa din.

My son's yaya started 3500 last December now 4 months na sya we increased her salary to 4500 kasi shes masipag. Plus SSS PHilhealth and Pagibig.

Yung 2nd yaya we'll
Give her 4k plus benefits. Ganyan kasi ang gustong starting ng iba. Yung iba pa nga gusto yaya lang hindi maglilinis laba luto ang bayad 4k. Yung all around naman namin dati ayaw mag alaga ng bata 3500. Mapili na sila sa work and sweldo now.
