Would anyone know, how much aabutin (installation, labor, materials) for recessed lighting fixtures sa living room.
Its for a condo actually so its not that big, also no idea how to do it kasi concrete ceiling ng room.

^If your ceiling is a concrete slab, you cannot put recessed lighting fixtures, only surface mounted.  You need to do a dropped ceiling first.  Cost?  Depends on the design, materials and contractor's charges.

hi sisses, natapos ko din yung thread 1 nito.. dami ko natutunan, nung unang basa ko tinatamad ako ituloy tuloy dahil sa dami ng term na di ko magets..  hehe.. pero ngayon kahit pano may alam nako..  at may idea na ko pano gagawin ko sa lilipatan namin house..

baka sakali matulungan nyo ako, prob ko kasi, meron pwedeng gumawa ng construction sa mga ipapabago/ipapadagdag ko (father at uncle ko lang) pero kaylangan ko ba talaga ng skilled carpenter para sa flooring at wall? para smooth at pulido? may materyales bang ginagamit para sa pag install ng vinyl flooring at wallpaper? TIA

mga sis may idea ba kayo how much binabayad sa mga student pa lang na interior designer? preferably pag sa magandang school?
sa nababasa ko sa ibang forum minsan for free raw kasi magandang pandagdag nila yun sa portfolio.Pero syempre ayaw ko parin ng parang bara bara hehe. Mga how much kaya at san pede tumawag or magpunta na site?

I Love this thread. Interior Designers at heart pala tayong lahat mga sis! :-) Probs lang dito for DIY interior designing is the labor or tao.

^^you mean for studio units ba sis? if it is for studio, if you entertain visitors and privacy is a big deal for you,  i suggest you put a divider to separate the sleeping area and the kitchen area. any divider will do, not necessarily putting up a wall in between. although you may do this too as i did sa isang studio unit namin. there are folding dividers on display at sm our home and other home stores.

Elements in the unit normally depends on the dwellers. Usually, gusto ng divider for privacy pero some like wide space.

Kung studio yan na rectangle, dividers would make it even smaller. Mirrors ok for illusion of space. If you don't like mirrors, get a shelf that is both storage and divider. Material would depend on the look of your unit.

I recently bought a 30sqm condo na turnover on Dec 2015. It comes with a granite coutertop na kaso wala pang cabinets sa taas. gusto ko sana madami storage, lahat nasa loob cabinet para malinis tingnan.

Pero priority ko ay kama.  i like yung wooden bed na may drawers sa side. Sa brochure ng abenson nasa 30k yung queen size. im looking for a furniture maker na pwede gumawa nito for me baka mas mura yun at matibay kesa yun bili sa mall.

I was also scouting for a storage bed   for a small condo unit to maximize storage space. I wanted to replace the existing bed we have. After countless talks with suppliers,  i ended up buying bed risers instead so i can  put plastic storage boxes under the bed

Kulang sa storage yung house namin. I cant figure out where to put the cabinets kasi alanganin yung lugar. How i wish may friend akong interior designer. Haha

Hi Girls,

You may check Muji stores or online shop and Ikea for your storage concerns. There are also hanging shelves available at Wilcon Hardware. If you want it customized since you only have a limited space Brushstroke Creatives can do it for you, everything can be customized there though they're quite pricey. You can also have it made by carpenters, there one street before SM BF that does that.

Is there a website/reference site where one can find a licensed ID per area/location? I'm looking for one based in the Visayas or Bohol/Cebu specifically. Magastos kasi if I get one from Manila since we will have to shoulder his/her air fare/accommodation expenses on top of their PF.

Another Q, are the fees in general the same lang for Manila versus the provinces? Or slightly cheaper sa province? TIA!

^to know if the person is licensed, you can visit the PIID website. There's a list there (Designer Pool) with all the names of licensed Interior Designers who are also members of PIID (Note: not all IDs are PIID members).

You can also visit the PRC website (under Verification of Professional Licenses at the right side of the webpage); although you need to have the Designer's complete/full name or his/her complete/full name, birthdate and license number to verify.

To get all Designers based in Visayas, just email PIID and they can give you a list or you can check out a friend: Holly Dychangco, owner and head designer of Chrome Architecture and Interior Design Studio, Cebu. Her family owns Dolce Cafe, Belle Fleur, Leisure Spa and The Lab to name a few.  I believe she also designed these establishments.

Just an additional info:

SEC. 34. Penal Clause. – The following acts shall be punished by a fine of not less than Three hundred thousand pesos (Php300,000.00) but not more than One million pesos (Php1,000,000.00) or imprisonment of not less than six (6) months but not more than three (3) years, or both fine and imprisonment, at the discretion of the court.

(a) Local Practitioner. –

(1) Practicing interior design, rendering work and consultations or rendering equivalent services as interior designer as defined in this Act or using the title “Interior Designer”, “Interior Design Consultant”, “Interior Design Stylist”, or “Interior Design” or the official appendage title “IDr.” in any signage, calling card, advertisement or any other mode of publicity without a valid certificate of registration and/or a valid professional identification card or a valid temporary/special permit;

(2) Using or attempting to use the seal, certificate of registration and/or professional identification card of a registered interior designer or temporary/special permit issued to foreign professional;

(3) Abetting the illegal practice of interior design by an unregistered or unauthorized person; and

(4) Impersonating a registered interior designer or a holder of a temporary/special permit.

Hi again mama squeak!,

The percentage of the design charge is usually the same anywhere in the country, it's just that if you're going to import an architect or id from one city to another you'll have to shoulder the transportation, lodging and allowance.

What varies is the labor charge because it depends on where you are. For example, here in Manila if you're going to pay 450 per laborer per day, 2 laborers x 26 days is 23,400. In Bicol, you can pay 300 per laborer per day, so 2 laborers x 26 days so it is only 15,600. This majorly affects the total construction cost. And 10%-15% of that total construction cost is the design fee.

And oh, there's also minor changes on the price of materials depending on your location (import and export reasons). But very minor, you may just ask your friends to help you with the best supplier in town.
