What If You Have an "Extra" 50k Monthly?
« on: April 07, 2014, 09:41:10 pm »
What would you do if you have an extra (big amount) money monthly? How would you invest it? Will you add that to your paper assets monthly or save for a year and buy a property etc?

Buy a property in a very good location like makati or the fort or mckinley and sell it when turnover time.

Paper assets ako pero I'll take the advantage of cost averaging. I wouldn't invest everything at once. Hati2 na yun. UITF sa BPI yung isang portion kasi I'll be needing money in a year's time.

I wouldn't dare buy a real estate property if I'm not stable enough. Baka ma foreclose lang. At pag pinilit baka pangit pa yugn property na mabili mo, hindi mo pa ma negosyo. And I wouldn't buy a car muna. I'll invest that money and make it bigger before buying that car.

I take loan and buy a good property pero I make sure na talgang mura sha and pwede na I rent out agad to generate money...

^ My mom has the same problem with my dad (bless his soul). My dad was so generous bigay lang ng bigay. Tapos walang investment kami. I didn't know all about it pa cos I was young. Tapos nung namatay si daddy we were left with nothing. No insurance, cash, etc. The only thing that we have left is the house. We were forced to sell it at a cheap price to our relatives. Just to go on with life. Kaya sis, ikaw na maghanda for your family's future. Talk to your husband.

And yup, there's no problem naman with the style that we have for our finances. Di lang ako masyadong hiyang sa real estate because I feel na mahirap siya bawiin and hindi masyadong liquid. Pero If you have a hefty loan, pwede na din. Kasi magiging passive income na siya. I'm looking into real estate investing when I'm in my 30s pa siguro. Hehe. I am not that stable right now.

Para sa akin siguro iipunin ko yung money habang naghahanap ng magandang opportunity for investment. Pwedeng ipang-invest sa real estate (With good location and good condition). Baka mas makamura ka pa if cash mo siya babayaran.

I believe in diversification, so I'd probably put:

10,000 in equity mutual fund (for retirement)
30,000 in balanced mutual fund (to buy a condo unit in cash after 5 years)
5,000 in savings/money market/time deposit (for emergency fund)
5,000 for enjoyment :)

subscribing! nice thread.

Real estate would be nice, especially if you know where to find good and cheap house and lots or condos. but for me, since wala ako masyado alam sa real estate, i would put it on stocks and mutual fund. and put some for travel and leisure. :)

Until I have enough, say 500K in savings account that I can withdraw anytime if opportunity to earn easily, say more than 5% a month knocks, I'll just keep adding that extra money there. Then, I'll diversify later in mutual funds or property maybe :)

I would invest it in UITF.  Equity to be specific.

If I have 50k extra monthly, I would budget it this way:

Jan-March: 150k travel
April-June: 150k additional investments and savings
July-September: 150k travel
Oct-Decemeber: 150k additonal investments and savings

Our savings and investments are usual part of our monthly deductibles from our pay so etong extra 50k na to will mostly be used for travelling and extra investments. Travelling is a good investment in terms of knowledge and culture. I want my daughter to be exposed to different kinds of people, practices, and views early on in life.

Sana totoo tong extra 50k hahaha
