pwede po ba paki explain in simple / direct terms ano difference ng UITF and Mutual Funds?

pareho silang walang sales load and holding period, right?

Sabi kase, one strategy is to invest regularly kahit daw let's say, 2500 lang per month.

For MF vs. UITF, please see: http://www.femalenetwork.com/girltalk/index.php/topic,283094.msg7894591.html#msg7894591

If I were to invest now, UITF would clearly be the better choice. But when I invested yearsss ago, I could only afford the lower intial deposit of mutual funds then, so MF was the choice for me. Back then, UITFs required 50k and up intial deposit vs. MFs that only required 5k, if I remember correctly.

Magtatanggal na rin daw ng sales load ang Philequity mismo, according to a Philequity staff's blog. Hindi yung through COL's fund supermarket lang. Looking forward to taking advantage of that when the market correction comes.

^wow good idea na PhilEquity will do that mismo :) in that case, magdidirect nalang ako sa kanila and open an account.

@ikaela, where did you read that? links please.
Is that a post from the faceless trader?
I saw one of her posts where she hints
na they will remove sales loads but she didn't
explicitly say they will.

Thanks

Hi mga sis,

Question ulit, what will happen or possible scenario if nagstart ako by  depositing an initial investment of 10K lang sa PhilEquity nung January. Feb and March wala akong dinagdag sa investment.

Peso cost averaging kase is tuloy tuloy daw at long term kaya lang, 'yung work ko by project lang at ang sigurado lang ako na may work ako is by end 2016.

As long as fund performance is good, even if you stopped investing, mageearn ka pa rin from your invested funds.

Tapos pag back end, pag beyondd 5 years na wala ng charge. Sana may ganung option din.

^^^Yes, it was the link I posted in the previous page. It wasn't just a hint, but can't really gauge how true it is since it is past March 2015 already. I quote: "But fret not, Philequity will be making all the sales load fees ZERO by March 2015 onwards and available to everyone for only P5,000 minimum."

I had my top up last March and may sales load pa din. Sana nga maging totoong alisin na sales load or even make it lower if not possible to remove it.

Same question

Whoa, you didn't think that they survived on our one time payment
of 2% or so of our investment did you? hehe

The load are for the agents, i.e. the one who sells the fund.

In my opinion that's why banks can afford not to charge a sales
load, they just use their existing bank personnel.

Fund managers earn from the 1-2% charged on the fund PER YEAR.

But still, this is a valid question. I'm guessing they're willing to
pay the agents from the ir earnings(ie the management fee)

Sort of like how Sunlife pays the agent when you choose their Option B.
(0 sales load but if you redeem within 5 years you get charged
with a bigger sales load than if you just paid it off in the first place)

He also regretted his earlier investment style because he did not have time for his family he was there lock-up in his office for hours analyzing moody's, hinahatiran lang siya ng food ng wife nya. His children grew up na salat sa attention niya, kaya siguro walang sumunod sa apak nya. That's why he changed his strategy later in life. Read mo yung book sis, it's entertaining, sometimes funny and you learn about his two wives.  :)

Wow, and now he won't allow his children to inherit much of his wealth.

re: sales load fee

is it better to pool my money first before ko ipang top up? para mas maliit na sales load fee.

im planning to top up weekly kasi. iniisip ko tuloy kung ipunin ko muna then monthly ko nalang ipasok.

Sis, better na top up monthly vs weekly. Sayang yun sales fee.

Mga sis, you can check the funds' performances here - http://www.pifa.com.ph/factsfignavps.asp
