^Market conditions are too volatile and too risky now for a one-year placement in equity funds. Better go with bond, fixed income, or money market funds now. Or a time deposit.

bonds are still iffy right now, less than 2% lang
returns ng bond funds ko after the peak where it
almost reached double digit returns.

Go stash it in BPI's Short Term fund nlang.

I agree with you, hindi ka naman talaga yayaman through investing lang. Investing is more of the preservation or the compounding of wealth that you already have. Even Cecilio Castro, the guy who turned 31k to 4M in 10 years through Philequity, had an extra 4k to 10k every one or two weeks to invest in the mutual fund. Any person who has an extra 4-10k each week is considered rich by Filipino standards.

Another good example is the ever famous Warren Buffett. He's made billions in the stock market, but then, he also had at least 10 million dollars to start with.

If you look at the list of the richest people in the world, majority of them made their wealth through business. Investing was how they preserved and snowballed that wealth.

Wow all in all he invested 1M because he consistenly saved. Look what he got whooping 4M! Thanks to interest. Long term investment. Love it so much! :)

Kasali ba ang Philequity sa list of billers ni Unionbank? Parang wala akong makita. FAMI lang nakikita ko.

sis @ikaela: from BR-ing. How do you pay sa Unionbank? E-banking ba? Thanks!

I have FAMI na but would also like to open sa Philequity kasi maganda ang performance. Hehe.

^^Yes, online banking. I use the "Transfers" > "To Another UnionBank Account" feature, then put in Philequity's UnionBank account number.

^Yes, you need to fax or send via courier hard copies of the redemption form. Their fax number wasn't working when I withdrew money, so I had to send everything through JRS. I also sent a copy of a valid ID. No need for the certificates anymore.

Mga sis na lost naman ako..
I have invested in bpi alfm growth fund.. Tapos nabasa ko dito
Yung recommendations sa bpi uitf.. Na much better daw ito kasi less yung fees? Kelan ba nagkakafees sa
Mf?

Kapag iwiwithdraw mo lang sya within the minimum period na set nila ganun ba? For example sa growth fund 6mos ata.. So pag withdraw ko sya before mag 6month dun lang may fees and penalties? Or basta magwithdraw may fees talaga unlike sa uitf?

Tapos nabasa ko dito sa mf may mga advisors kaya you pay a higher fee e sa case ko wala naman akong ganun? Haha! I went lang kasi to bpi and sabi ko magiinvest ako sa growthfund.. So parang nalito ko na sa ibang mf ba eh may humaharap na advisors?

thanks sis ikaela. I will redeem all my money na from FAMI and will transfer it to Philequity pag bumaba na yun market. Not really happy with FAMI's performance.

Btw sis, anong navpu ang magrereflect once magsell, yun date pagsubmit mo online ng redemption form or once mareceive nila yun hard copy?

eischied_21: the NAVPS they used was the one on the day I emailed the redemption request form, sent before the 12NN cut-off time.

IronLady: Ba't mo pala napili yung ALFM Growth Fund?

Mutual funds usually charge sales loads, but the one you chose doesn't have any. Apart from being charged anywhere between 0.25% up to 5% or more every time you invest in an MF, you also incur charges if you exit too early and from using the services of their fund managers. This is apart from taxes, of course.

Actually, marami 'pang hidden charges ang mga pooled funds -- they're transparent about some, while others are calculated into the NAVPU/NAVPS. But why concern ourselves with that if they give decent or even better-than-average returns?

Anyway, dun sa choices mo eto ang fees/penalties/restrictions:

ALFM Growth Fund, a mutual fund sold through BPI:
- 0% sales load
- 180 days minimum holding period (if withdrawn earlier than this, charge will be 1% of amount)
- 2% p.a. management/trust fee

BPI Equity Fund, a Unit Investment Trust Fund:
- 0% sales load
- 0 days minimum holding period so no redemption/exit fees
- 1.5% p.a. management/trust fee

Sa dalawang 'to, sa holding period lang nagkakatalo.

As for mutual funds having advisors: they are distributors of mutual funds who get commission from bringing more investors into the funds. This money paid to them is taken from the mutual fund company. You, as the client, are not charged more.

There is also the option to just go straight to the company, which is what I did. But for people who want to invest in pooled funds but need to know more about it, the services of an advisor could be invaluable.

What do you ladies think of this:

Planning to open sa Philequity pa naman! Pero with this parang gusto ko na sa Citisec na lang kasi all in one na.

^Very good for Philequity because they get to tap COL's investment-savvy clients. Invest in Philequity through COL or straight with them, it doesn't matter -- bottomline, Philequity still gets more investors.

Much better than through IMG. I don't know what went through Philequity's mind when they decided to partner with them. Yan tuloy, nagkakaproblema sila -- meron mga natakbo na pera, mga hindi na-invest, o hanggang ngayon e still waiting for a receipt or proof of their shares in Philequity. Nasisira tuloy pangalan nila kahit wala naman sila kinalaman dun.
