bakit ang panget ng performance ni fami lately? may idea po ba kayo mga sis? pero ok performance ni philequity at ALFM growth fund! nice!

If nag-apply ka dati ng mutual fund sa bpi, kumita ka na, tapos kinuha mo. Tapos pag mag-aapply ulet to park my money sa mutual fund, do I need to apply it again directly in any branches ng BPI?

In my experience, hindi na.
Kinuha ko rin lahat nung time na nag bayad
ako ng taxes and fees para sa condo pero
nung gusto ko mag invest ulit sa BPI, andun
pa rin yung UITF account, wala nga lang lamang
funds

i do MF investment with FAMI. i don't have accounts with MB but i can put my investment thru this bank or PS Bank.

- kung naginvest ka ng 10,000  tapos nag gain ng 1000 kunwari automatic ba to na dadagdag ang shares mo o pag nag top up lang nadadagdagan ang shares?

- yung gains ba ay nababawasan din pag bumaba o nalugi yung capital o yung mismong capital lang yung affected?

- lahat ba ng MF companies nagpapadala ng statement of account sa bahay?

- how can you tell if a MF company is stable? na nandun parin sya after 15 years.. makikita ba yun sa  pagcheck ng performance nila o kung sino nagmamanage ng fund nila?

-> Madagdagan lang ang # of shares kung mag top-up ka

-> Lahat apektado

- lahat ba ng MF companies nagpapadala ng statement of account sa bahay?

-> Hindi ko alam kung may makakasagot neto kasi dapat may account sya
sa lahat ng mga MF companies lol.

Regarding mail/notice sent to your house, pwede kayang i-request thru e-mail na lang ipadala instead sa bahay? I have BPI ALFM funds.

^ yes, sis pwede. yung sa case ko dati may email ako nareceive offering such arrangement so nag-reply lang ako. try mo through expressonline, under Investments - Investment Account Services. or call customer service

^ I already did that via expressonline pero every time i bought shares meron pa rin dumarating na mail na depository receipt. Wala rin akong narereceive na email of balance or status ng MF ko. Siguro i'll send an email or call na lang.

parang overall Philequity ang pinakamataas then FAMI then ALFM. tama ba mga sis?

gaano kayo kadalas mag dagdag sa initial investment nyo? may fee ba every top up??

Hi mga sis gusto ko pa rin malinawan tungkol sa mutual funds.. Right now im reading blogs and eto rin mga threads. I know a bit pero it would help pa rin if i can personally talk to someone.

I am undecided kung sa bpi or yung fami. Pwede ba ko pumunta sa any metrobank or bpi branch to ask about their mutual funds?

^^Sa choices mo, Philequity ako, pero okay din yung ALFM kasi convenient (if BPI ang bank mo). May fees talaga every time you make an additional investment. I used to top-up every month, pero since I started trading myself, nag-one-time-big-time-then-forget na lang ako.

^From my experience (and from what I have read here and on other forums), usually, hindi ganun ka-knowledgeable ang mga bank personnel about their own funds. Mas-ok pa ata magtanong-tanong dito. Sa BPI dati, trinato ako na parang bata nung matandang manager. Sa UCPB naman, naglabas pa sila ng katakut-takot na papers para lang masagot yung mga tanong ko. Pero nakatyempo din ako ng magaling na personnel sa BDO -- she knew her stuff.

basically, ang MF ay pinapahawak mo sa fund managers ang pera mo.

sila ang magdedecide, saan stocks nila ilalagay. kaya pwedeng malugi ka or kumita ka.

kaya merong kang choices sa MF pag maglalagay ka na ng pera mo
 : high risk, medium at low risk.

kaya tinatawag itong "investment". kasi tulad ng ibang investment, hindi ka sigurado kung kikita o malulugi.

pero kesa naman nakalagay sa bangko ang pera mo na "nalulugi" rin taon taon dahil sa inflation.

ano ang inflation? eto yung P50 mo ngayon na makakabili pa ng hamburger, after 10 years, hindi na. lumiit na ang P50 na tinago mo sa bangko.

tama po ba pagka intindi ko mga sis? layman's terms para mas madaming maka intindi.

Ang star diyan e si Mr. Valentino Sy. Mahirap lang eh may katandaan na din siya and we don't know until when he'll remain to be Philequity's fund manager and if he has sufficiently trained someone to replace him.

Philequity's PEFI fund is the oldest mutual fund in the Philippines. It's also one of the top-performing since inception and consistently rated as one of the best. They more than deserve the high sales load/management fees they charge, IMO.
