i thinks it's not needed pero i always email them pa rin screenshot of transaction, para lang meron akong record na nareceive nila :)

@tinapay, chefron is technically correct.
ALFM ang mutual fund ni BPI but its being sold
in BPI branches so might as well call it BPI mutual funds.  ;)

Backread muna and let us know what you
don't understand.

anyone familiar with mutual funds offered by BPI? di ko kasi maintindihan...

me sis I have ALFM Growth Fund & PSIF. for me almost the same lang sila ng UITF, difference lang is the  holding period and management fees. mas matagal holding period ng MFs and higher management fees. i chose them lang before because of performance.

And kumikita ba kayo sa equity fund based on experience? O laging talo?

100% equity ako since I started 4-5 years ago, and kumita ako enough to help pay for my wedding and my hospital expenses when I gave birth. :) Negative yung mga ininvest ko between July to December 2013, pero kumita na sila uli starting January 2014. In short, time and patience lang ang kailangan.

^For a conservative investor, yes, it's a good idea to split your investment. Kung super conservative ka, try a 90 bond -10 equity or 80-20 split. If you need a guide, the age formula is a good one:

100% - your age = % in aggressive investments
The remaining = % in moderate-risk and conservative investments

Sometimes, the age is subtracted from 120 instead of 100 for those who are even more aggressive. Just adjust according to your risk appetite.

you get VUL if you wnat to be insured at the same time.
hindi guaranteed ang returns sa VUL.

@oreo, it depends on the type of mutual fund you have.
Rule of thumb is, the riskier it is then the longer you have
to hold it for.

Riskiest is equity then balanced then bonds then money market.

May life insurance ka na ba? More than 100k na ba pera mo sa stocks? if yes to both - you may transfer your money to a one time pay life insurance with vul ;)

I have ALFM Growth fund and so far may unrealized gains na ako na 28%.

Sino ba dito may Philequity? Pano ba mag top up dun?

Tpos mas malaki kc yung sales load ng Philequity kesa sa FAMI eh, so I am thinking of going with FAMI's equity fund. Tuwing kelan ba kinakaltas yung sales load? Every time you top up?

TIA, mga sis.

^Ako sis, I'm invested in equity funds of both Philequity and FAMI. Masmaganda performance ng FAMI nung 2011 or 2012 ba yun, pero overall, panalo ang Philequity, even with the higher sales load. In my own records, Philequity beats FAMI by at least an extra 4-5%, all fees included.

Here's how to add an investment, or top-up, to Philequity funds: http://www.philequity.net/redeem.php?id=20070804085807705#additional

I use UnionBank's online banking myself. After deposting online, I make a PDF file of the confirmation receipt. Then I fill out the Investment Application Form on Adobe Acrobat, and email that along with the PDF of the receipt to invest@philequity.net. Nag-enroll ako dun sa e-mailing system ng Philequity so I can do everything online.

Yes, kinakaltas yung sales load every top-up.
