wow, ang dami talagang raves kay DTS dito at pati sa w@w. Based on her photos, she looks intimidating and very formal. Pano ba ang style ng hosting nya? I want someone sana na di masyadong formal, yung lively sana and can crack witty jokes pero not to the point naman ng comedy bar level. Ang majority kasi ng mga guests namin ay mga yuppies so baka a too formal host would bore them kahit very articulate at superb mag english

^^sis, isang reason yan kaya walang videos ng hosting si darlene online (meron pero isa lang from ghe consolacion) kasi depende yan sa preference ng couple. Kase baka isipin ng iba na hanggang doon lang sya. other couples might not like formal type of programme, others would prefer formal.. She will ask naman what type of programme you guys would like to have.. kayo naman ang masusunod doon.. and the good thing about it is she can still adjust from formal to not so formal without making it appear jologs. Better if you have skype meeting with her para malaman mo din her capabilities. She is strict but she's really nice, she gives valuable inputs regarding preps.. madaming advices sobra.. oo medyo intimidating  coz she seems so matalino for me.puro may sense ang sinasabi at walang arte. nakakatuwa syang kausap. she's one of the suppliers I was looking forward to meet.

wow good to know na flexible naman si Ms. Darlene sa type of hosting na mas preferred ng couple.   Based on her aura kasi and her looks, parang di ko sya maimagine doing informal hosting. hehe. Pero never pa kasi talaga akong naka come accross ng negative feedback about her even so-so review lang wala din, all praises talaga so I think we could consider her also

I have a question about Darlene Tan Salazar. Does she speak straight English while hosting? Heheh I can only find 1 video of her hosting online and while it is good it isn't 100% what we are looking for since there was some Taglish and prefer something more toned down. However Ive read here that she adjusts to the client's preferences.

If I do get her is it OK lang for me to make those requests? Dyahe ako to tell her no Taglish and to tone the energy down a bit, and all that heheh

We have a host in mind already, who is a friend of H2B and is a news anchor and pro emcee. However my hesitations are that since we are asking the friend to host as a favor, I will have to provide him with  as script-- which I am not looking forward to writing myself! Also we wont know till perhaps a few months before if he will be able to host or not as he might have a live news show to do. =( =( My coordinator said sayang daw its better if we can get that friend to host our wedding. But then again, whaaaaaaa kakatamad to make a script, although our program naman is super simple with no games whatsoever and just opening prayer, cake cutting, speeches, and 1st dance.

Chili, check out JC Alelis and Chuck Araneta. Both speak well and are more toned down. If you want a girl, Joyce Abesamis is also very classy.

Another question I have is when you hire a host, do they submit their script ahead of time? I want to review the script. LOL

Chili, DTS asks the couple whether they prefer English or a combination of both, and she adjusts accordingly. In planning the program, she also asks the couple to keep in mind the type of guests that they'll be having so the program will fit the crowd. If bibo the crowd or more toned down. You can set up an online meeting with her to assess whether that will work for you. Chuck was a classmate back in college. He's a cool guy. Haven't seen him host though, but I know they have a podcast. Hehe

Thank you Caleeice!! This is all very helpful. I like that DTS used to be a coordinator =) I like that she works closely with the couple and knowing their preferences. Our crowd is a very stiff crowd of mostly in their late 30s and up haha

Yes sis chili1113. DTS can speak straight English and she sound so natural. I like her so much.. especially yesterday when I was panicking with my guest list.. she called me right away and cheered me up.
