i have asthmatic son and with skin asthma too..
he's pedia adviced us what to do, what to apply, what to avoid.

there's a relative saw my son's skin asthma
she told me.. PAG SOSYAL SKIN ASTHMA/SKIN ALLERGY, PAG MAHIRAP GALIS

I am so offended that time
i'm giving my 200% effort to control / to avoid he's skin asthma..
ang mahal ng sabon, ang mahal ng lotion, ang consultation ni pedia, nag-aircon pa kami ( hindi sa pagyayabang) ang mahal naman ng galis ng anak ko.. ..
hindi sa nagse-selan pero sinisigurado kong malinis ang anak ko, at presentable ilabas..
wala nga amoy baby powder,baby cologne dahil meron ngang asthma..

is there someone who can enlighten me what's the difference of SKIN ASTHMA, SKIN ALLERGY & GALIS ? meron ba?

skin asthma is more commonly known as eczema which is usually triggered by allergies. not sure about galis, though.

how old is your son? and what are you applying on him?

since eczema is usually caused by allergies, do you know what your son's triggers are? if not, you can start by elimination diet. don't give him dairy products, poultry (eggs and chicken), seafood including fish, and nuts. after 2 weeks and when his skin clears up, you can try re-introducing each food. one food at a time for one week. after a week with no reactions, you can proceed to the next food and so on until you've discovered which food he is sensitive to. also, stay away from harsh chemicals. use detergents/dishwashing soaps with natural ingredients. try changing your bedsheets every week kasi baka allergic din sya to dust mites. 

my daughter has eczema and bronchial asthma too but we have already found out her triggers so we stay away from those.

i think there's already an existing thread here about skin asthma and bronchial asthma. search for it na lang.

Diba yung galis galing sa sugat? Tama ba ko? Skin disease sila pare pare pareho for me. And yung skin asthma di naman palaging nanjan diba sumusumpong lang yun pag na trigger? May skin asthma din ako dati pero di sha katulad ng galis na kadiri.

Ang skin asthma/atopic dermatitis ay namamana at triggered by certain allergens. Ang galis ay scabies, caused by parasites at nakakahawa.

Noong may flare-up ang atopic dermatitis ng anak ko, may nagsabi rin, ano yan, galis? Hindi ko lang pinansin. Nakaka-stress talaga sa umpisa ang AD but once you identify the trigger, it becomes easier to manage.

Nasa genes ang skin asthma sa side ng husband ko. And inaral ko mabuti ang nakakatrigger ng allergies ng twins ko. Allergic sila sa chicken, soy, saka wheat. Wala din ako choice pag summer and every night kung hindi magaircon. Pero once naman namaintain mo na yung mga mahal na bath and cream stuff, nawawala din yan seasonal lang. Tyagaan lang. Kaya skin asthma lang sila wala
Sila asthma talaga kasi inalagaan ko mabuti. Take not 3 months palang sila nung nagkaskin asthma.

my daughter who is now 1 year and 5 months, has the most sensitive skin, for me ha..
because at 6 months, she was diagnosed with skin asthma and insect bites, i wonder why until now, the insect bites, super recurring nya.. the skin asthma healed, but the bites/insect bite like itch and the scars are still there, despite pricey ointments/ lotions, soaps, prescribed by her pedia and a dermatologist.

nag aircon kami, regularly changing bed sheets, pinapaliguan ko sya ng green tea kasi nag give up na ako sa bath soap na nirecommend ni derma na no effect naman super pricey pa, na try ko ng babadan yun skin nya ng milk, konte lang ang effect. i was so frustrated, kasi ang iitim na ng scars nya, as in ang dami!!  hindi ko tuloy sya masuutan ng skirts and sleeveless kasi mostly sa arms and legs yung scars nya.. please recommnd any treatment or best anti itch gel/lotion, kaya kasi nagsusugat sugat is because of scratching nya. PLEASE HELP!:(

by the way, nanotice ko lang na, pag pinapakain namin sya ng kalabasa, mas lumalabas yung mga kati kati nya na sometimes may tubig sa loob.. does anyone here have babies that is allergic to squash?

Have you tried calmoseptin? For scars ginamit namin is rosehip soap for my nephew, kasi nakagat sya ng dog before ang laki nung scar tapos obvious red marks keloidal pa and puti pa naan nya. Nag lighten yun area ng scar and pumantay yung color sa balat nya. Minsan caladryl or vicks nilalagay namin sa mga kati nya.

Or might as well check your bed din. Baka may infestation ng bed bugs, Thorough disinfect dapat ang bahay in these cases kasi they can breed easily lalo na sa pillows and beddings natin.

Sis miranda, if you see that your child is more itchy when eating squash then by all means, remove it from her diet. Just because it's rare to develop squash allergy doesn't mean she doesn't have it. It's better to be safe than sorry.

The reason why she's itchy is because something is triggering it. Make an elimination diet. For the first 3 weeks, don't let her eat seafood incl. fish, chicken, eggs, and dairy products. Basta for the first 3 weeks, same lang palagi ang kinakain nya. If you see any improvement on her skin, it means she's allergic to some of the food that I mentioned. If her skin clears up, slowly introduce each food until you identify what triggers it. Also, make sure you use all-natural products (incl. detergent) para safe. During the elimination diet, try to use minimal skin products as possible. Isang brand lang as much as possible, eg. cetaphil soap and lotion. Mahirap kasi mag-identify ng allergen kung ang dami-dami nyang ginagamit.

hi sis! i already used that calmoseptin, but seems not good enough. also tried the generic of elica ointment, little to no improvement though nagcacalm down naman yung itch for the next maybe 5-10mins, then kakamutin na naman ni baby.

regarding the rosehip soap, what particular brand sya sis and san nabibili? baka makatulong sya sa baby ko. do youalso know any disinfectant na strong enough to eliminate those bed bugs? thanks!

Galis is scabies.
Scabies is a contagious skin condition caused by tiny mites called Sarcoptes scabiei or itch mite, if I'm not mistaken. Eto yung talagang nagsusugat sugat, nakakahawa because of the mite that burrows through the skin.

Skin asthma is a known term for atopic dermatitis, or eczema. Eczema is caused when the body makes too few ceramides. Ceramides are the fatty cells which help provide the barrier protection to the skin. If you don’t have enough of them, the skin will lose water and become very dry. This is mostly hereditary, or caused by outside factors. As per research, most babies outgrow this condition. I have a cousin born in Canada who's 6 yrs old meron sya nito. Sabi ng tita ko common daw to sa kids sakanila because of extremely cold environment. Kaya todo moisturize siya sa anak niya.

You'll only be offended if it's true. Or you're insecure, which i think is the case.
Instead of focusing on displaying how not mahirap you are, maybe you should focus more on your son's welfare amd health. There are so many problems in life, you dont have to add up to it yourself.

TS i'll let you know kapag nakahanap ako ng magandang rosehip soap na maganda sa balat ng bata at hindi nakakadry. Most of the soap na advertised na may rosehip is included ang glutha or something else na pang whiten which cancels out the effects of rosehip. Yun ginamit kasi nila kinukuha dati from a chemist in laguna.. he then migrated to dubai na kasi and since then we never had that soap from 3 years ago.. I'm thinking of making my own as I'm trying to get in touch with him.

For I'd rather determine what causes/ triggers the allergy itself. Sa amin kasi it runs in the family both asthma and allergy. Isa 2-3 days eliminaton ng meat sa diet. To help clear his skin fruits muna.. banana, apple, watermelon, melon.. some citrus fruits would often cause allergy din kasi. Then re-introduce one by one every 2-3 days isa isa lang either meat or vegetables.

Disinfectant.. yun pillows nya ang beddings was soaked in baking soda ang hot water.. tapos ilang days pinaarawan after washing.. When he was a baby hindi nilalagyan ng fabric conditioner ang clothes nya, wlang powder or lotion basta malinis sya sa katawan. We let him sweat din laro and most important drink lots of water which will speed up elimination of toxins sa katawan.

My son is suffering from eczema/atopic dermatitis too.l first he had the cradle cap then it migrated to the other parts  of his body. Now he have some in the folds of his legs and some on his back. Our derma said that there's no cure yet for this skin disorder and it's a cycle, it'll heal but it'll recur ulit. He said I have to make sure that he's moisturized to make sure na ma limit yun pag recur. We're currently using glaxal base with vaseline, then for the rashes he prescribed three creams: elidel for face and neck, hydroval and nerisone for the body. It's a little toxic to apply all these but I'm hopeful that it'll help him. Sabi naman nila possible ma outgrow, hopefully that's his case.

Hi sisses. My son also has skin asthma also and it's very hard to control the flare ups as he likes to eat chicken and egg very much! Di ko naman maawat kasi naaawa naman ako dahil yun lang ang ulam na gusto niyang kainin. Most of the flare ups sa son ko is located on the lower part of his butt and at the back of the knees.

Share ko lang if you want to try, i'm using PURE GLYCERINE on him to keep his skin moisturized. After every bath as in basa pa yung skin niya i apply the pure glycerine on his skin all over the body. This helps him a lot to relieve the itch and acts as humectant which traps the moisture on his skin. Kapag super active ang flare ups niya i apply DESOWEN (corticosteroid lotion) and there's this new product available in Watson's anti itch din it's called ATOPICLAIR to prevent him from scratching.

at first I used Cetaphil Cleanser and Cetaphil Cream, lahat kasi sila at birth
nagkaskin allergy. then if clear of rasher na skin nila human nature baby wash

Sis miranda101, yung anak ko around 8 to 9 months pinagprepare pa ni MIL ng Pumpkin Soup. After ilang minutes lang ayun super nangati na. So talaga lagi ko ng sinasabing allergic siya sa squash. Yun na yung una at huling pagkain ng anak ko ng squash.

I finally got to make a rosehip soap at ginagamit na ng nephew ko for a week, so far okay naman. ANg mahal pala ngraw ingridients pero worth it kasi sarap ng tulog nya hindi na nagkakamot. Nun monday he ate chicken tapos fried eggs in the morning, nakalimutan namin may allergy sya dun. Hindi naman inatake ng kati nya. Sana lang makapg patuyo pa ako ng soap hirap kasi umuulan.

Di ko pa sure kung magligthen yun ibang scars nya from scratching dun sa rosehip soap na ginawa ko. Cold process ginagawa ko para hindi magevaporate yun rosehip oil at mas effective sya.

gumawa kami ng amin for rosehip soap. Yun process kasi ng nabibili sa labas hot process kaya natutunaw yun pinaka oil na needed saka matigas. Ginagawa ko cold process kaso mahirap i-cure dahil sa ulan. Siguro by Aug okay na syang gamitin I can give you some para ma try mo. yun nephew ko kasi everyday use nya 5 years old na sya.  Dati cetaphil tapos it came to the point na hindi na gumana.

We tried neutregena, dove, tapos yun tea halo sa luke warm water pagkaligo, calmosesptin, elica, caladryl, vicks, ginger.. meron time na parang na-iimune na yung skin nya sa mga gamot gamot. Nagtake din sya ng oral steroids gumana mga ilang months lang saka tumaba. Kapag hindi sa skin asthma lungs minsan sabay. Nakakaawa kapag hindi sya pwedeng kumain ng mga food na nakikita nya sa ibang mga bata kaya super hanap kami ng solusyon to it.
