Living in a condo as a family.. share your experiences

My tito and tita started out living in a condo tapos nung lumalaki na pamilya nila they started moving in a bigger space. Ngayon H&L na sila but they didn't let go of their condo. Pinaparent nila minsan and sabi na hindi bad decision yung pagbili ng condo kasi nagagamit din naman like for example pag may parties.

Yes agree din ako jan sis plus malaki masesave mo lalo na kung starting ka pa lang di mo naman kailangan ng malaking bahay pa dahil kaunti pa lanag naman kayo

Exavtly my sentiments! Di ka naman lugi kung magcondo ka muna kasi mapapagkakaitaan mo pa rin naman yan sa future e. Most of the condos naman esp yung mga bago like Ayala, SM, DMCI and megaworld ay strategically located, kung saan madaming tao kumbaga kaya di ka mahihirapan makahanap ng renter

Aba big time ah! Hindi ba kapag binenta mo lang parang binalik mo lang yung pera mo pero di mo naman nagamit talaga? I don't see the point

^Normally condos increase their prices over time so I think that is what IamNobody is thinking.

^^ and usually, when you buy it at pre-selling rate e mura pa sya. Once completed ang project and functional na ang amenities and facilities, then tataas na ang market rate.

ah sa bagay yung through time ibebenta ok pa nga pero yung kung for example binili mo ng pre-sell tapos ibinenta mo din pagka-turnover parang medjo lugi ka dun di man lang tumaas yung value...

Ah so pagka turnover pa lang pala tumataas na yung value nya? Akala ko you have to wait years pa para tumaas ang value.

Yes po, magastos po.  You'll learn magtipid sa condo living. Ito po ay ilan lamang sa mga binabayaran. Pero hindi lahat po yan ay buwan buwan like yung RPT. 

- Association Dues
- A one-time Membership Fee
- Insurance Premium for the unit
- The buyer’s share of the Insurance Premium for common areas and facilities
- Real Property Tax
- Other assessments deemed necessary by the Board of the Condominium such as repairs
- Parking
- Utility Bills (cable, water, electricity, internet?)

One of the most common problems I see in a lot of family condo's is that people furnish them like they would furnish a large detached house.

In some ways, this is due to the poor choices in furniture shops in Manila - but you really should think a lot about how you furnish a condo. If you have to save-up for made-to-order furniture, then do so.

Look for inspiration online - search for small space living etc... Get furniture that does double duty, if you can't find one locally, have one made etc.. etc.. A simple google search will turn up a lot of great stuff.

One cost normally associated with condo living that I think is largely unnecessary is the cost of parking. This can be a touchy subject for many Pinoys, since the typical Pinoy "dream" is kotse + bahay. But to me, one of the reasons we chose to live in a condo is because of convenience of location = hence, no need for a car. Esp. now, with the advent of services like Uber and Grab, I personally think owning and driving a car in Manila is a waste of money and energy. If you're going to "sacrifice" space by living in a condo, then get a condo in a great location, where a car would be largely unnecessary.

for me the most affordable way to have your "own house" around manila is thru condo, I personally want to have a condo but then again our kids are going fast baka it masyado ng maliit sa amin.

ang ingay ingay nung nasa taas namin, talon talon pinasilip ko sa hh ko nag exercise pala. Ano naman sa akin kung nag exercise? Lagi sila maingay, 3 taon na kami tumira dito ganon katagal yung pagtitiis namin sa kanila. Mahal ng rent tapos ganyan lang naiistorbo kami. Bukod sa takbo ng bata, may matanda pang patalon talon nag exercise. Iba pa yung hila ng gamit sa umaga. Sabagay kahot ano oras nila gustuhin mag ingay eh. Nakakainis lang. Nag report na kami dati ewan ko kung nakarating sa kanila o baka balewala sa kanila dahil di nila alam gaano sila kaingay.

Ano ba gagawin ko? Tama ba na mag report uli ako sa office? Last month kasi kaka report lang namin ng mga activities nila na inipon namin kasi sakit sa ulo. Kung kayo ba yung nasa itaas namin paano gagawin niyo pag nai report kayo dahil dito sa sinabi ko?

how would you know amilyar of your condo? paano po magcompute nang babayaran mo yearly for this?

In our 2 condos, sa pagkaalala ko, me computation for the whole property, then the admin computes for each unit's share, I think depends on the unit size. I could be wrong though. Kasi we usually just receive a memo from the admin indicating the amount of amilyar to be paid, depends on what type/size of unit we have.

I would like to buy a condo from SMDC in Taguig.
Pre-selling pa lang siya and upon reading this.. Madami din ako natutunan.

22sqm nga lang yung gusto ko though meron sila malaki na units pero okay na sakin yun, kasi yun lang din ang kaya ko.

Iniisip ko pa lang siya.. actually.

I'm planning to rent it if ever, sabi nga.. why not try na tumira daw kami kahit 1 to 3mos lang, I have 2 daughters and talagang maliit ang unit heheh

IKR ganyan na ganyan din experience ko, which I posted here before. Walang nangyari sa mga reklamo ko, from the security to the bldg.admin. wHAT WE DID IS... We just learned to live with it and not to think Much about those pesky upstairs neighbor. lol...soon after, medyo nag mellow na din sila ng konti, nung medyo di na namin pinapansin. Also, we seem to not mind na and parang nasanay na kami and we even expected it from them na hinahanap na namin lol...like we will say, o wala atang tao sa taas at walang maiingay!:)

Kung halimbawa  til 25th floor ang condo or more, which one is the best na floor?
May ganun ba?hehe Parang ako gusto ko lang mga 5th floor or mababa pa.. tapos sabi sakin ng agent the more na nasa mas mataas daw mas okay at mas mataas ang value?
Hindi ko nagets pero parang nakaka pagod mag elevator hahahaha

tapos kung madami lang bit bitin like grocery or anything... hahaha

La lang naisip ko lang..
