I don't know if a similar thread such as this already exists, if so, kindly merge or reroute this topic na lang to the existing one.

Anyone in here who goes on mountain treks/overnight camping? :) Labas naman kayo dyan, let's talk about it!

I was scared to join at first. Maybe because I did not trust most of my friends, na girls na, na super newbies pa. But I tried my first climb last March, with my guy officemates instead,
sila na mismo yung guide and sweeper, sila bahala mag-dala ng tent,
so I joined and just made sure my backpack was super light and that kaya ko sarili ko.
So far it was a good first time experience for me. Overnight at Tarak, Mariveles, Bataan, tent at Papaya river. Sana masundan pa siya. I prefer yung meron water sources and mapuno para di mainit.

mountaineer here,

outdoor activities are fun especially hiking/trekking and camping. good for your health. be sure lang na you are fit for this activities. you will enjoy more if you love nature. join mountaineering clubs. orient yourself first on hows and do/donts. learn the basic of mountaineering 101.

Try it sis! I would advice you to go with your friends so that you won't feel pressured with the pace... Yung mga beterano kasi mabibilis na... A dayhike might be a good option for starts too. ;)

For me mas ok na overnight kapag first timers as compared to day hikes. Ako kasi ever since I've started never pa ko nagdadayhike. Will do so siguro if may major climb ako na dapat paghandaan. :)

May first time this weekend to climb. Bales sa Mt. Maranat kami overnight. I've been planning this for the longest time already and ngayon lang natuloy dahil wala koang masamahan. Hehe. Im not sure if gusto ko mag-shoes ditto kasi may dadaanang ilog and parang di ako comfortable na basa yung shoes ko.  But then again, that's the whole point siguro 'no? Way out of your comfort zone :)

Mas ok parin na nakasapatos. :) Mababasa lang naman sapatos mo if lulublob ka sa river crossing (the one before tatay nestor's place), possible lang naman tumawid dun if hindi malakas yung agos and if hindi mataas ang tubig. Pero pwede naman na nakasandals ka lang. Ako kasi mas prefer ko na sapatos to keep my feet protected. Dibale ng mabasa haha. Sandals ko is tribu, ok lang naman kahit sandugo or tribu or any other brands, for as long as it serves its purpose diba? :)

Goodluck sa climb, never ever underestimate any mountain :) mga good 4hrs na lakaran yan hehe. Enjoy the falls! :)

Bro po ako. :) Enjoy the climb maam and since first time mo, ask your college friends about LNT.

Yes, sana nga may masamahan ako in the near future.

Yung batulao sabi nila pang beginners haha.
