Anyway, meron po bang may recommendations on a good and reliable na gumagawa ng barong in Divi? H2B and I will be going tomorrow to canvass, pero better kung meron na pong naka-experience. Ayaw po namin ng stress kausap na supplier, haha. TIA!

Just want to revive this old thread.  Hopefully somebody can answer. For those whose grooms / fathers have availed of barong tagalogs (specifically coat barongs) instead of suits, can you suggest somebody? Mid range designers would do please. My husband does't want to splurge on his barong.  I've looked sa website ng onesimus, pero the ones that they have are parang for entourage  lang. Hope somebody can share. Thanks.

We bought barong at the second floor of tutuban mall for only 700 pesos because my dad needed to attend a wedding. Okay ang quality in fairness at sakto ang fit sa dad ko kahit sample long sleeves lang ang dala namin ni h2b para lang may basis sa width at length

For our wedding, wala pa silang barong. Hehe. We're planning to avail at kingsmen or onesimus. Barong for the fathers and coat barong for h2b.

^sis stylus thanks. Pupunta sina mama ko mamya sa divi to source chiffon na fabric for the entourage. Will tell her to keep a lookout for nice barongs as well.  Konti na lang kasi na mga grooms na nagbabarong. hehe. Our wedding will be lahat naman naka barong. para maiba naman hehe. Actually, one reason kasi is pawisin si hubby and hindi naman airconditioned yung church namin.  hehe.  Question pala, is King Albert different from Kingsman? Meron din kasing nagsuggest sa amin na King Albert in Kamuning. For our entourage naman, either sa Onesimus na or divi sila bibilhan. Depende pag may nakita sina mama na maganda.

Naku sis. No idea. Pero mukhang iba ang king albert from kingsmen. Kingsmen kasi nasa malls sila. Pwede rin magpacustom made ng barong. 2-3 weeks leadtime daw. Nag inquire na kasi kami barong din preferred ni h2b kasi daw pag christmas party nila naka coat or pag formal meetings. So para daw feel nya talaga na kinakasal sya at hindi ordinary party.. gusto nya barong!

Sa divi actually maganda talaga kasi doble yung tela ng barong na nabili namin. So pag suot, di masyado halata yung undershirt.

Try Lor's it's in Pasay city and matagal na sila in the business of making suits and barongs. My family always has theirs made by Lor's. Maganda yung fit pero I'm not sure sa price ng barong. Hello!! Our wedding attire is also barong. We are opting to have our family suki tailor do the barong. But we will be purchasing our own fabric> Yun yung important sa barong eh-- kahit kasi famous designer purchase their fabric elsewhere.

My fiance will be buying his fabric from Asilo de Molo in Iloilo. It is a monestary/church where the nuns embroider the pina. I know this is also where Mar Roxas bought his barong fabric for his wedding with Korina. IIts just a bit costly as the pina barong fabrics cost 10-15k per piece. That's just the fabric alone, no labor no nothing pa. But acdg to fiance, the quality is good and embroidery is unique.

Another place that is filled with barong fabrics with really good handmade embroidery is in Bulacan.

Sis, I think I'm the one who suggested King Albert. King Albert is different from Kingsman. Hehe. Unfortunately though, Albert, the one who made my husband's coat barong already passed away after our wedding. We haven't had anything new done by them so I don't know how they work without him now. But to be fair, I really liked my husband's coat barong. Hehe.

sis Chilli I didn't know Asilo de Molo has pina fabric. sayang pala since me and h2b are both from Iloilo and I could've easily asked my mom to get it for me. i only know sinamay in iloilo also has good fabrics for barongs.

diba in laguna there's also a place where you can get good pina fabric?

we had h2b's barong made in king phillip in glorietta which was recommended by one of our ninangs.

rightback: Hello! You're from Iloilo pala. My fiance is from Negros naman but frequently goes to Iloilo because he has a business there. Yes Asilo de Molo has Pina fabric but I haven't seen it. I gave my fiance the option to get in Bulacan since manyy Manila based designers source their Pina from there. But then it might be easier for him to get it in Iloilo. He told me for sure the ones made in Asilo de Molo is all handmade embroidery thats why medyo expensive. The usual barong embroidery kasi these days are machine made.

^ ^^ mga sis.. thank you so much for all your suggestions.. my mum has already started calling some tailors for their rates and timeframes. And dun sa mga may experience sa overseas clients. Mauuna kasi ako umuwi kay hubby as he is only given about 2 weeks annual leave.  So we need his barong done before he arrives.

Chili1113: Yup! I grew up there and we used to frequent Negros also for business or visit relatives. Still good to know about Asilo de Molo fabric--for future reference na rin. Thanks super!

Hello mga sis! Just want to share din, last weekend, we purchased/ordered h2b's barong in Lumban, Laguna. We went for a pina cocoon kase yung pure pina masyadong dark for me at masyadong mahal. Napalunok na kami sa 8k na tela pa lang.

Pero maganda talaga! Hindi lang talaga okay yun color nya. Yung color kasi ng gown ko ay ivory. So kung darker yung shade ng kay h2b, hindi kami terno. Hehe.

Kaya we went with pina cocoon. Good thing is, pumili kami ng tela na gagamitin na may design na, pero since nakulangan ako, ipapagaya ang design nung nasa pina. Mas intricate kasi sila magdesign sa pina kaya mahal. We got ours na full front with back design + labor ng 6k. With lining na. At lalambingan ko ng pamaypay. Hehe. Medyo mahal pa rin, pikit-mata na lang. Para lang maiba si h2b ng bahagya sa mga ninong at abay. Haha!
