^^Theatre nurse in the Phil.and in the UK. I didn't have a problem when I applied a few years back to visit my fiance. But some of my nurse friends were denied. Others were successful. The thing is, they are looking for reasons that you will not stay in the US and go back to the Phil.

Thanks mga sis. Mind sharing  if there were any questions asked regarding your educational background? Never practiced as well. Nag business na lang kame. Although I kept my local license active sayang din kase additional ID din sya aside sa passport. Whereas my US license di ko (nauso kase noon diba) na nirenew since I have no intention of working abroad anymore. Will that post as a problem? Na nag nclex ako?

I was given tourist visa before I studied for nursing. It expired 2009. I never renewed it kase natakot ako madeny. Sayang naman bayad ko if ever. But now that may family nako of my own I wanted to try applying again.

Complicated lang talaga kase I had a petition too before that wasn't pursued as well.

i just need an input here coz i really dont know what to do.

here's the story.

i hosted an NGO event last november (guests were mostly foreigns such as indians, chinese, japanese, etc) after that 1 week event, one of the guests get in touch with me asking if i can collaborate with him for his US project.
he is an india national, owns an event business in india and US (calif) his team will have an event in las vegas on january for 5 days and he wants me to host the event. his company will shoulder all the expenses such as food, accomodation, plane tickets in the condition that i will shoulder my visa.
he helped me how to do it online and now i already made an account to www.ustraveldocs.com and it is posted there that the first interview schedule is dec. 8, 2015.
once i paid the visa fee then thats the time i can sched for interview.
the business owner told me to get b1/b2 visa just like a tourist visa so i can be approved. he told me not to put something about work related or business related stuff. he just adviced me to make it a plain leisure so i can be approved.

here are few questions i got now.
- just in case i pay the visa fee, am i the one who will choose thw date of the interview or they will give it to me?
- after the interview how long usually will it take for me to have the result?
- if the event's team that i will be joining will leave on january 8, do you think i can still join them once visa is approved since i only got limited time for the visa processing.

^ ms.tj - answering some of your concerns based on my general visa experience. I have US embassy application experience but it was for a business trip (still b1/b2). I also helped friends process US visas

- the "5 day vacation" might be questioned by the consul - it sounds too short? perhaps if your reason for application would be for an important event, it will sound like a more solid reason (e.g. seminar, family's wedding or whatever)
- You can find the requirements from this link http://manila.usembassy.gov/niv-application.html
- I suggest that you look at the DS-160 (Electronic Application Form) already to check the particular information needed from you. FAQS: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/forms/ds-160--online-nonimmigrant-visa-application/frequently-asked-questions.html
- On the get go, resigning from your job is a disadvantage- no certificate of employment and guarantee that you have an employer to come back to after your trip
- usual interview questions - salary, years of tenure, do you have relatives in the US, your job description, reason for the trip, places you plan to go to, countries you have been to in the past 5 years, also, if you are going to say that you are funding your trip (and not the Indian guy's company) - show proof that you have enough in the bank to cover all expenses
- you will know right away if you are denied. sometimes they will ask for further supporting documents and you need to come back to present them (I know of someone who was asked to come back with his resume / school transcript). if you are approved, they will tell you to expect your (stamped) passport after X business days and ask you to leave.
- no idea on the visa interview schedule, you can backread on that I think it was mentioned in this thread before. it will always depend on the volume of applications. Options to schedule an appointment are limited.
- January 8 departure is already pretty close and you have to act very fast if you want to pursue your application

I have a question re: US transit visas.

I'm planning on going to Mexico City to visit my boyfriend and possibly get married. Kaso lang, most routes have layovers in the US.

Which way should it be done? Get my Mexican visa first, then apply for the US transit visa? O US transit muna then Mexican visa? I have no intentions of going to the US so X na sakin ang b1/b2.

Also, do people get denied US transit visas? Specially now kasi with all the terrorist threats and shootings sa US

^You should have a valid Mexican visa before applying for US transit visa.  Isa sa mga proof yun kasi na ang destination mo is Mexico. They might look for your ticket going to Mexico via U.S.

my hubby and I were granted US visa this morning. Nawindang ako sa window number 4 lahat halos na interview niya deny then grabe npapahiya sa kanya applicants naririnig namin sinabi niya sa lola na may asawa US Citizen "why are you lying with your marriage? I am not granting you a tourist visa because your intention of staying in the US blah blah blah" ang taray niya. buti na lang hindi kami sa kanya, nag interview sa amin chinese girl mabait, natatawa sa amin ng asawa ko. wala documents hiningi sa amin pero sa iba may mga na interview na naglabas ng documents nila.

Wait namin US visa sana 10M.

hi mga sis, ask ko lang if anyone here has experienced na dumaan sa administrative processing ang visa nila?
sabay kame nag-apply ng visa ni hubby at na-approve naman sa interview pero sya less than week nakuha na nya yung visa but mine is on admin processing accdg sa website (dahil ba mas malaki sweldo ng asawa ko kess saken?! lol).
for those who went through this, mga gano katagal bago na-release ang passport nyo? sabe kase sa website pwede umabot ng 60 days pero may nababasa ako online na may 4months+...

^i heard that the processing can take longer if you have a very common name, as they run security checks yata sa worldwide databases. so kung ang name mo is very common and spanish or latin sounding, tapos may mga kapangalan ka na may record, it might take longer kasi baka may further checks pa to ensure na hindi ikaw yun. narinig ko lang ito, sis. hindi ko alam kung ganun nga talaga, but it makes sense.

^^ Sakin sis umabot ng almost 1 month before madeliver yung H1B visa. Administrative processing yung status niya nung first - 2nd week kaya tumawag na ko sa customer service nila. Tapos ayun finollow up lang nila after ilang days nadeliver nadin. Nagworry din ako that time kasi iba ibang cases nababasa ko sa forums, yung iba sobrang tagal. Kaya advice ko tumawag ka na after a week para lang macheck mo yung status.

i just checked the visa application status website and finally nag-update din sya to "issued"
hopefully available na sya sa 2go for pickup before mag-holidays next week.
so it took exactly 10 days after application bago sya na-approve. sana lang 10yrs multiple din.

sis Annie M., my name is not so common naman. yung husband ko nga may hit sa NBI pero ang bilis bumalik ng passport nya. pero that's interesting info ah.

sis shyreen, i guess iba-iba talaga depende sa case no? what i find weird lang is that no way for the applicant to know kung ano'ng reason kung bakit idadaan sa administrative processing. nakalagay dun na they will email if may kailangan na document pero pano naman kung walang email tapos pending parang no certainty kung kailan matatapos.

I would like to apply for US b1/b2 visa, together with my husband. I am working on a cruise line based in US, and we have benefits for family as well. I am still using my passport with my maiden name, as newly married lang kami this year. Then by 2018, I will renew and change to married name na.
Now with our application for b1/B2, will it be a problem as married kami but my passport is still as single? same thing that on my passport application, I am using my parents home address, and now sa US visa application, new address na gagamitin namin.

And can I know what is the earliest date for US visa appointment? and how many days for processing once approved na?

^ no issue with using maiden name sa passport. Basta you declare that you are married and in case hanapin, me dala ka marriage certificate. Wala rin kaso ang different address. Just make sure you use the right address kasi dun idedeliver ang passports.

As to earliest available sched, maaaccess lang yung calendar if nakabayad na, so baka me other sisses tayo na kakapa-sched lang who can give an answer.

After interview and approved ang tourist visa, average of 1week before passport is delivered.

just got my renewed visa approved yesterday, as of today naka issued status na sya.

We will have our interview on the 29th day of January. Apat kami. My dad, mom, my 7 year old nephew and I. Kakarenew lang ng passports namin pero yung akin kasi and sa nephew ko isang tatak pa lang, yun yung nag Japan kami. Pero sa dad ko nakapunta na siya sa US once nga lang pero may dalawang visa na siya 1993 and 1994. Puno yung old passports niya ng mga tatak from diff countries. Bank employee siya for more than 25 years. Mom is a housewife. What's the chance kaya of us getting a US visa? We want to compare Disneyland there sa Tokyo Disney lang. Grad gift din kasi sakin.

Another question is now ko pa lang ipapaprint yung ds 160 confirmation page. May iba pa bang ipapaprint? And bukod sa passport, ds160 confirmation page and other supporting docus ano pa ba dadalhin sa us embassy? Thank you

^hi, bellerina! do not bring your mobile phone or any electronics. as in bawal. i think bawal din ang drinks (liquids) and snacks. meron naman sa loob.

as for docs, the most important are the following: appointment confirmation, ds form, and passports. make sure that the bar codes are clear and complete. bring your receipts na rin (proof of payment) to be sure.

usually the consul won't even ask for your supporting documents, but to be safe, i brought ITRs, bank statement (with receipt) and bank books, titles ng properties, marriage and birth certs, etc.

tip ko lang if you want the consul to see your old passport, ibigay mo ng kusa kahit hindi hingin. that way they will see your travel history. kasi sa labas, yung mga magi-inspect ng papers before you finally reach the interview section, sasbihin nila itago mo na yung old passports kasi hindi kailangan. i did not heed that advice. when it was our turn to be interviewed, i handed our latest passports PLUS our old passports so the consul can see our travel history.

should I still get an ITR form from my company, cert of employment, payslips, leave approval etc?

Since I've been reading this thread prior to my interview, might as well share my experience.

Just had our interview this morning. VISA APPROVED for me, my husband and my 10 month old baby. We prepared our docs and all but nothing was asked to show. So here how it goes:

VO: Good morning!
Me: Hi. Good morning!
VO: So I have 3 applicants. A family?
Me: Yes.
VO: How old is the baby
Me: 10 mos
VO: Is she your only child?
Me: Yes
VO: Yes so far (with matching smile)
What is the purpose of your travel
Me: Vacation
VO: What Is your work here?
Me: I'm a IPC assistant
VO: How long have you been on that job
Me: 7 years
VO to my husband: What do you do?
Husband: I'm a managing partner. We have a family business.
VO to me: Where in the US are you going?
Me: New York, Seattle, San Francisco
VO: Oh. That's far from each place
Me: *smile*
VO: Do you have relatives there?
Me: My uncle.
VO: Do you plan to visit him?
Me: Yes
VO: Okay your visa is approved. Please wait within 5 days for the delivery.

And that's our best morning yet this year.
I can say too na swerte swerte lang din talaga. The baby helped us on the long queue.
