hi sisses, i currently have a US Visa. Thing is im getting married in January and will also have to renew my passport after that. Can I still use my maiden name sa passport? concern ko talaga un US Visa kasi pag nagpalit ng married name sa passport kailangan din yata ulit mag reapply for Visa. help!

I recently got married and my name has changed.  I have a valid U.S. visa in my passport in the previous name.  Is it possible to transfer the visa once I obtain a new passport or do I have to apply all over again?

You may travel using the valid U.S. visa in your passport in the previous name and your marriage certificate.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer the visa once a new passport is obtained.  If you wish to obtain a U.S. visa in your new passport, you will need to apply and qualify for a new visa.

Hi guys! Quick question lang, do I need to have an itinerary planned out? Like Day 1, Day 2, etc.?

Worry ko kasi pag ganun, baka yung ibigay na travel period is yung nasa itinerary ko lang, and I am aiming for 10 yrs multiple entry sana.hehe

No need for itinerary. Ang alam ko minimum na binibigay nila is 6 months single entry, your length stay will be determined by the immigration officer at the point of entry.

Hello! Im planning to go to the US this June (alone). I just read the infograph GMAnews posted at their website.

If kukuha palang ng visa, do I have to have a letter of invitation and/or booking details?
I'll be 20 y/o on March, and I asked for this US trip for my graduation gift. If ever, the letter of invitation will come from my blockmate's family (US citizen sila & sa house nila ako titira)

^no need for letter of invitation/booking details, the consul won't ask for those. mas interested sila sa profile mo at sa ties mo dito sa Pinas.

do you need to bring your bank statements sa interview? Or come as you are and hope for the best?

Yes you need bank statements, itr,land titles, car reg etc. Sometimes they ask for it, sometimes they dont. So better be ready.

Hi! This is my first post on here and I hope I'm doing this right. Lol. Well, I've been backreading for a few months now preparing for our visa applications last jan.6, 2015 and this thread has been super helpful! So, I decided to pay it forward and share my experience here, hopefully it can help others. My case is different since I grew up in the states from 5yrs old to 14yrs old. Then I moved back here to the Philippines with my dad. My mom and 2 brothers stayed in the us. We had valid traders visas for 5 yrs but after that expired we were basically tnt there until we left in 1994.. so I overstayed as a minor for 3 yrs. Also, being the "punk rocker chick" that I was back then, my friends and I got into a lot of trouble, including an arrest for petty theft! Anyway, the visa officer asked me all these questions and I was surprised to see how vast the US database is! He knew all about the "arrest" (we weren't really arrested since we were minors, just pulled aside and they called our parents to pick us up, that was it.) As well as our over staying in the US... The schools I attended, everything... He asked me about the details of the arrest and all I could say was "I was such a crazy little punk rocker back then!" And he smiled and said, "So was I! I still am! Haha. Anyway, I dont trust anybody who has never made mistakes before... ok, your visas will be delivered by mail in 5 days! Have a great trip to the US!"   I stood there in shock... I thanked him and the kids and I went to MOA  to celebrate! So, all I have to say is be honest! Be confident and speak to the officer like you're having a conversation with  a friend. Also, PRAY! Ask for the intercession of the Holy Spirit! Ask God to surround you with the right people, the right circumstances and the right Visa officer.But, most especially ask God to give you the strength to accept His Will, whatever it may be. Are you familiar with the countries US tourist visa holders can visit? I know Taiwan kasi kapag may US visa di mo na need mag-apply for a visa. Just wondering kung may iba pa, for future reference.

Am also planning to apply for US Visa, just wanted to ask those experienced in getting one, if you think there may be a reason for us to get denied.

Husband - 38 y.o., AVP of a bank, where he has been working for 6 years
Wife - 33 y.o, Sales manager of an IT company for 9 years
Child 1 - male, 12 y.o. Grade 7
Child 2 - female, 9 y.o., Grade 4
Child 3 - female, 1 y.o

We plan to go for a vacation only. My parents, elder sister, and youngest brother are all Green Card Holders. My younger sister is already a US citizen. Sa aming magkakapatid, ako lang ang hindi nakatira sa US. Ako lang ang walang green card. Honestly, wala din naman kaming plano na tumira doon dahil ang ayos ayos naman ng buhay namin dito. We have a farm lot to our name in the province. 2 cars. yung house namin dito sa manila, we are still in the process of having it transferred to our name.

Do you think we have a good chance of getting a tourist visa? Or will it up our chances kung maipalipat muna namin sa pangalan namin yung house namin dito sa manila? I am worried about my son, kasi I was told napag-iinitan daw minsan pag teenager na. Buong pamilya bibigyan tapos yung teenager hindi. Kaya iniisip ko kung kailangan bang kumuha na agad kami ng visa habang wala pa siyang 13.

Once lang. Hongkong. And wala pa yung baby namin nun. Personally, I've been to US twice before, pero single pa ako nun. Yung last was nung fresh grad ako.

Good Day mga sis, ask lang ako ng advice regarding sa auntie ko, green card holder sya, unfortunately nagkaron sila ng problem ng anak nya sa US so she decided to come back to the philippines last december 2013 pa, last april 2014 kinuha sya ng isa nyang anak sa new zealand, stay there for 6 months then umuwi sya ulet ng pinas for a vacation, so since umuwi sya sa pinas nung december 2013, hindi na sya bumalik ng america until now, lumalabas na parang over staying na sya sa labas ng amerika.. Dahil mahigit isang taon na syang hindi bumabalik doon, now ito ang question ko
1, Pwede pa ba sya bumalik ng US dahil iniinvite sya ng kanyang kapatid sa jax florida for a family reunion.. If so, may  penalty ba ito o parang certain amount na dapat bayaran dahil sa hindi pagkakabalik sa amerika sa loob ng mahigit na isang taon, o
2. Kailangan nya ba ulet mag apply for a non immigrant visa? Mabibigyan kaya sya, hindi kaya maging hindrance yung hindi nya pagbalik sa US na parang na ignore ang immigrant visa nito.
Please, help me guys.. Hindi rin kasi namin alam kung saan kami mag sstart.. Or kung ano ang tamang gawin.. Maraming salamat po

My hubs was interviewed this morning sa embassy. All went well, few questions lang. The consul didn't ask for additional documents, dami ko pa naman na-prepare LOL May 1 american lady consul daw dun na madaming dinedeny, as in sa 10 parang 3 lang nabigyan ng visa. Hubs kept on praying na di sya mapunta dun, luckily hindi nga! hahaha
