pwede ba siya samahan ng employer or pwede humingi ng translator??

Question lang po, i applied for green card as single, pero syempre sa sobrang tagal ng hinintay ko almost 4-5 yrs eh nakapag asawa na ako lately lang. Okay lang ba na diko muna palitan last name ko sa passport ko? Basta may dala lang ako marriage contract? Pag naaprove ba ako yung husband ko approved na din since were just newly weds?

^ no i don't think your husband will get a green card/approved with you.  he has to undergo his own process and timeline to get fully approved and documented  in the country where you're at.  probably you'll have to file a petition for him as your spouse.

^sis, discuss your case with a  lawyer.  hindi mo sinabi kaagad na employer petition yung sa iyo.  i assumed yours was a family based petition as a single person, that's why my reply.

^oo sis yung employer ko ang nag file at nagbayad nung sa akin, since 2010 pa ako nag apply sa kanila then by 2011 natanggap ko na yung priority date ko. Medyo wala ako makakwentuhan na kakilala ko na same situation ko. Pero di kami inabandon nung employer namin kasi nag meeting pa kami last september 2014. Mukhang next year daw kasi eh pwede na ako makaalis. If gusto ko daw isama si bf eh magpakasal na daw agad at mag prepare ng mga proofs na matagal na kami mag bf-gf. Balak namin sana ni bf na next year pa kami pakasal sa church pero sabi ng employer eh do it now. Hehe kaso kakasal lang namin last nov 18, 2014 at diko alam kung kelangan ko na ba palitan surname ko. Sabi kasi nnf employer eh maintain my surname kasi yun yung naka file sa visa screen ko. Paano pag aalis na kami ni bbf eh magkaiba last name namin sa passport? Dala na lang siguro marriage contract noh? Haysss. Nakaka stress pala ito, biglang nabilis ang mga pangyayari sa tagal ng hinintay ko almost 5 yrs. LOL

Yung US contact person ba talaga eh tinatawagan nila? Next week na kasi yung interview ko, pero yung contact person ko nagkaemergency, umuwi ng pinas today to attend the funeral of her grandmother. Sa January pa babalik ng US.

Sharing my US Visa application experience today:
Took a cab from SM North Edsa  - taxi meter rate is Php 183 pero dahil alam kong malayo at pasko, nagdagdag ako ng onti.

I arrived outside the embassy at 6:00AM for my 7:15AM appointment. Nagpapapasok na yung guard at around 6:40.  Had to throw out my water but I kept the bottle. Pre-checking. Fingerprinting. They started interviewing tourist visa applicants around 7:40AM (sabi ng watch ng katabi ko). Watch the number flash on the screen kasi hindi chronological order. I brought a book pampalipas oras. I am not a very chatty type of person when in lines.

I got the friendly blonde curly haired woman as the consul.
VO: Why are you going to the US?
Me: To watch the Lion King on Broadway (pangarap ko talaga to guys) with friends.
VO: Where do you work?
Me: <answer>
VO: What is your monthly salary?
Me: <answer>
VO: So where have you traveled to?
ME: HK, Singapore, Netherlands, Germany, Italy France, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia, Czech Republic, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Indonesia, China
(Aba tinodo ko sagot ko para masabi that I have good travel history!)
VO: All of that in the past year?
Me: No, the past 5years
VO: I see I see. *looks at my passport*. Are you single?
Me: Yes.
VO: Who do you live with?
Me: I live at home with my parents and siblings.
VO: I see! That's why you can afford to travel, you still live at home.
Me: *Smile* Yes! (totoo naman!)
VO: Where did you go to school?
Me: <school>
VO: So you are flying all the way to the US to watch a show?
Me: Yes, I missed their show in Singapore way back in 2010.
VO: Why not watch Beauty and the Beast here instead here?
Me: They don't have the same soundtrack
VO: *nods* Well it is good show. Allright, you'll get your visa in a week. Enjoy the show!
Me: *big grin* THanks!

I got out at 8:30AM. Nagtanong pa ako sa isang nagja-jogging para sa oras because I had no watch and no gadgets with me. I walked all the way to UN and all the way to LRT station - mga 15-20 minutes walk yun.

It pays to be early kahit di ka makakapasok agad. Kasi mauuna ka sa pila, tapos mauuna ka din sa number. If you have kids/elderly, pauunahin naman yun so in those cases, kahit on-time lang ang dating.

Hi melodymedley! I was at the embassy the day before you went.
I was wondering if that was all they told you? I know 3 people who recently applied with the consul explicitly stating that they will be given single entries.
The consul didn't say anything about the visa type I'm going to be given and I'm hoping that's a good sign.


I know also of someone who simply said he wants to see snow that is why he wants to travel to the US-- he was granted a visa.
I heard the consuls will also grill you more when you appear nervous. I was eavesdropping on a few interviews.. all individual applicants are asked if they are single.

The consul didn't say anything about the visa type I'm getting so I am hoping it is ME. I know someone who got an ME as well, he applied the week before.

No vacant seats near the interview windows so wala akong narinig na interview. Better that way I guess. Hindi ako kinabahan before my turn.

We had our interview last Dec 12 for our baby's visa. US embassy is so efficient! Babys passport was delivered yesterday with 10yr multiple-- not that they have any reason to refuse our baby a visa! Hehe. Both my husband and I and our eldest have existing visas.

Pero I was really worried cause we were asked to line up at the Korean consuls window. I think maybe she was the one referred here mostly na mahigpit. She was really masungit. She didn't even smile at us. Pag naaalala ko our "encounter" with her, nakaka bad vibes Lang haha. The couple who went before us with a preggy wife was denied. They were the first applicant after the seafarers. Anyway, I'm just glad we're almost all set for our family vacation next year. Can't wait to Book our tickets!

^ Sis, what's the process to apply for baby's visa? Husband and I both have 10-year multiple entry na. And we wanted na I-apply na si baby kahit wala pa kami planned US trip sa ngayon. Para lang in case me biglaang trip e ready si baby.

^hi sis! Same Lang ng regular non-immigrant application. Here are the steps I did:
- have babys picture taken, save electronic copy in CD or USB
- fill out ds-160. U need to upload the pic here upon submission.
- I pay the visa fee via BPI online. U can find instructions here. Keep a copy of receipt of trans confirmation. Strict instruction by embassy to bring receipt but they didn't ask for it naman during screening/interview.

- wait at least 24 hrs before setting an appointment to make sure payment is reflected.
- register at the same link above to set an appointment.

While infants are on priority, u still need to strictly follow your interview schedule. The "greeters" will assist u. U only fall in line when there are other babies/senior citizens ahead of u. Otherwise, once u get in, u will be out in 15mins or less.

We still bring the usual docs-- bank statement, COE, property docs, birth certificate, marriage certificate, actual passports with our US visa.  With our 2 babies, only our passports were asked.

Good luck! And yes, apply na kahit wala pang plan what if Diba..  As in our case, November next year pa ang trip but what if I had to go earlier since my family is there.  Hindi nman pwede Maiwan ang bunso

^ yeah.. kasi yung US trip namin this year (preggy pa ako, 2nd tri) e medyo biglaan din. Buti we have our visas ready na (we got our visas kasi last year pa, then di natuloy kasi sumakto sa 1st tri ng pregnancy ko yung original travel dates namin). So inisip namin now, baka bigla magkayayaan ulit, better na ready na din visa ni baby kasi ayoko sya iwan if ever.

So same lang pala ang process. Pwede ba kami both ni hubby ang sasama sa loob during the "interview" schedule?

We're applying for a us visa for our baby too! We're hopefully going on February so I actually need to take the earliest schedule. I just recently got her birth certificate kasi. Glad to hear you had a pretty easy time.

Got denied today. Actually ang nakita ko lang na naapprove were those who already had US visas before (student, business and tourist). It was the asian lady who interviewed me. The man in front of me na for renewal lang she denied also. Wala siyang inapprove the entire time. She asked for my bank docs and then said na hindi nagrereflect yung monthly income ko sa bank account. Eh savings account ko yun, hindi naman payroll. I get paid in cash on a daily basis so I have no idea how to prove to her na it is in fact my money. Sana next time hindi na siya matapat sakin. She also said na 1 month stay in the US is too long. She didn't stamp my passport na denied though.

wala na atang stamp talaga pag denied. they just give back your passport.
