Also yung isang college friend ko rin is getting married earlier than us.

^sis, I think you don't have to invite the bf of your friend since you never even met him. Just explain to your friend that you are only inviting common friends with hubby and spouses. Unless sis, she's a super close friend of yours then she really should be allowed to bring a date.

As for the other friend who is engaged... I think you have to invite her fiance. Also because by the time it is your wedding they will already be married. Spouses are always included in formal events. It is always a Mr. and Mrs. invitation even if you do not know the spouse.

Naku.  eto na ata ang isa sa pinakamahirap when it comes to wedding preps.  Sa amin, almost all of my friends were married.  Pero yung better half nila is di namin talaga kaclose or once lang namin nameet.  Should we include them?  Ang hirap.

^Yes sis we did. It's one of the reasons why they stay..kapag may kasama sila at nakakausap especially sa reception mas nagtatagal sila at tinatapos nila ang programme. We did the same on our VIP tables. We included the husbands and wives of our PS. :)

shrek250190, if they're married, you should definitely invite them as a couple. As Chili said, spouses are always included in formal events (I would say the same for engaged couples).

barbeecue, we invited all partners and extended plus ones to all our single guests, including those who aren't in the bridal party.

mga sis question: pano kung sa yun isang family na kamag-anak namen sobrang dame nila, iinvite ba lahat yun including all the kids? marame kase angkan namen pati kay fiance on both sides pa, so feeling namen pag lahat ng members of our family ininvite magmumukang reunion, tapos halos super duper konting friends na lang ang maiinvite namen as guests, yun talagang close na lang namen..syempre gusto din namen ng may close friends..we have 150 guests as target and ayaw na namen magdagdag hanggang don lang ang budget namen..is it ok to explain to them while giving invites the situations kung sakaling may hindi na kame maisama sa iba? maiintindihan naman siguro nila db? advise naman please, tia!  :D

^ Sis baka you can put an age limit to the kids you will invite. For example, you will only invite adult cousins 21 over, or 18 over.

For me we have huge families! I am sure some will complain but I am really not going to invite the children on my 1st cousins anymore even if they are young adults. Sorry nalang. Besides I am not obligated to invite them and will not feel bad if they do not invite me to their weddings too hehe Its just that my brother who is getting married in december will invite the nieces and nephews while I will not! HAHA for sure our relatives will have something to say about that. But as my mom said... "It is your wedding, so you're the boss. Just invite who you want to invite. Who cares what the others will say?"

true sis, ayoko na nga din sana invite yun lahat ng mga anak ng cousins ko same with fiance, yun close lang din sana pero not all..we also want to invite friends over din naman para hindi magmukang family reunion lang ang naganap, hehe..siguro we will trim down some guests sa families namen and explain everything when we hand-out invites kung baket ganon, in a nice way syempre..and yan din naman sabi ng mom ko, it's our wedding so we get to decide  ;) thanks sis chili1113

It's so true that the guestlist suddenly balloons after you ask your parents for their invited guests. Tsaka like you sissies, ayoko rin imbitahin buong angkan ko. Like first or second cousins of parents - ayoko na invite yun. this isn't a reunion - it's my wedding. I want to keep our guestlist at 150, nothing more.

You can limit the guest list by age and degree of relationship. We only invited the siblings of my parents together with their children and spouses. We no longer invited my nephews and nieces and the cousins of our parents. If we did, isang baranggay na! Haha. Despite our parents' vigorous objections, we gave them a maximum number of guests that they can invite. We explained to them that we wanted an intimate wedding. Of course, it's easier said than done. Even after a year of preps, there were times umiiyak talaga ako because of guest list problems dahil hindi matanggap ng parents ko na they can only invite X number of guests. Hehe.

Pero in the end, you just have to stand your ground. Kami rin ang nasunod sa maximum number of guests. But you can also give them a little leeway. Not all confirmed guests attended the reception so sayang. Other relatives and friends could have been invited instead.

^Same here caleeice! I am limiting relatives strictly to my parents' siblings, and their children/my 1st cousins and spouses. But not inviting their children/my nieces and nephews regardless of their age.

It gets complicated though with my fiance's side. Because he is the youngest cousin in a very big family. So his older 1st cousins are already the age of my parents! Problem is we cannot exclude many of his 1st cousins' children as they are our age and my fiance is close to them. So we cannot make a strict rule in excluding them and so it is tricky as some excluded nephews/nieces might feel bad if they are not invited also.

We gotta limit our friends though. As of the moment we have a whopping 150 friends on the list and expecting 100 of those to likely come. Our overall head count target is only 200 attendees!

Question: We have some friends we aren't close to, but who have invited us to their wedding. Would it be super rude not to invite them to our wedding?!? I feel obligated to invite the ones who got married within the past 3 years and invited us.

If you've attended those invitations, yes I think hehe. I got invited to some weddings of acquaintances but didn't or wasn't able to go.
Didn't invite them to mine 😥

Eto na rin ang dilemma, the guest list. Mas marami akong relatives compare kay h2b so nakakahiya naman iinvite lahat, it will look like my debut party and not our wedding. Sa side ng family niya, limit lang is 50 guests while sa side ng family ko, yung sure na pupunta is 70. Not counting my other nephews and nieces na hindi naman namin close ni h2b. I just don't know how to tell them na limited lang talaga sa 200 ang guests namin so bilang lang ang pwede ma-invite. Maliit lang din kasi ang venue so my coordinator adviced me to just limit the guests and not exceed ng 200. Ang bilang namin ngayon is nasa 230. Hindi ko na alam pano pa bawasan.  :'(

^Thanks Ladies!! Yes I suppose I really have to invite them since they were kind enough to invite us to their wedding. The polite thing to do is to return the favor and invite them back. Heheh the problem kasi sometimes is if you invite a particular friend you aren't so close to, you will also have to invite the others within the same circle/group of friendss or else they will really feel bad.

^akesanchez Create your guestlists with a priority tag. In Priority A, are family and friends you cannot not invite even if wanted to. B will cover the rest. Send invites to A and give them 3-4 weeks to respond. Those who cant make it, replace with someone from list B (send invitation). Believe it or not, my fiance's family is uncontrollable too with guests and they had more than 320 people to invite to our 200-pax wedding. But this strategy worked on my fiance at least and he agreed to do it. We also had a column to tag if we felt the guests would likely go or not, this helped us estimate how many we could include in List A. I think we will end up inviting 285 to get an attendee number of 200. :) The rest malamang di na ever makakatanggap ng invite.

^Chili1113 i would invite friends who invited me to their wedding even if not planned.
