Mga sis  I will be a wedding guest this coming June sa former HS classmate ko.

Hi sis lyrahs! :)
This happened also to my best friend's wedding.

Hmmm. IMO, if you really want to attend your friend's wedding, and if it really means to you, much better if you'll talk to your plus 1 in a very nice way. I don't think that he'll feel bad kasi di sya invited. For me, mas okay i-prioritize yung plans ng couple. Kasi kung ako yung bride to be, I'll feel bad, I might think, ano mas important, makasama yung plus 1 mo on my D day or yung pag-attend at pag-celebrate with us sa wedding ko? Diba? Esp. it was already mentioned that they will be having limited guests and possible mag-trim down pa, malamang for budget purposes na rin or intimacy.
Once kasi na-invite ka sa isang wedding, meaning, the couple wanted you to be a part of their new lives. Mas okay pagbigyan ang request ng couple. :)

It ay opinion ko lang naman sis. :)

^hi sis pogi02
Tsaka yung wedding day kasi nila is birthday ko din. So 2 birds in 1 stone...naka-attend na ako ng kasal ng friends ko, may birthday date pa kami ni plus 1 kahit di kami pumunta ng reception  ;D

Ahhh! :)

i started this thread as an anxious bride-to-be. after my wedding and all, ang masasabi ko lang, we brides can be strict about who to invite, who not to, plus-ones etc, but we can never be too sure of our pasaway guests on the day itself. sure, 75-80% of your guests will strictly comply, but there will be some who will bring kids (even if you clearly told them not to), and other plus-ones (even if you didn't give them a +1). may principal sponsor din na magrerequest ng +2! don't stress out too much kasi some guests whom you invited won't come at all (kahit walang pasabi). nakakatampo man pero the math somehow adds up. hindi pa rin tayo kukulangin sa seats or sa food. so just let go on the day itself.

being firm but nice is the hardest thing to do...

mejo OT pero like what angelzero said, merun talaga mga hindi dadating ng walang pasabi. as a future b2b, iniisip ko na wag na ika dagdag stress pa ito hehe... repeat. rewind. repeat.

i have this friend na kinasal last month, kame mga old friends hindi na invited ok lang we understand pero we attended sa church.. libre naman un at walang cost. understandable naman kase strict budget and sa headcount..ako din naman hindi makakapag invite ng madami hehe

recently, we found out na 3 tables ang vacant for 150pax :( and wala nag fill-in.. i feel sorry sa friend namin kase merun other friends na kinda nagtampo pa dahil hindi na kaya iinvite.. tapos un mga pinili nila hindi pa pumunta..

I think isa sa mga challenges ng mga ikakasal is how to keep guests entertained. yung iba kasi reception lang darating or after dessert e eskapo na.

So yung mga guests pakalat-kalat. :-\

Eat and run guests are usually those who are not close to the couple. Other reason would be if the venue is far from the guests' place and they are not staying at a hotel nearby. Possible din if the schedule is tight like they have work the next day or even hours after.

Manage your expectations and have Guest List B (even C).

On keeping guests entertained, make sure they have snacks and activities. Get a great photographer too, one who can take amazing shots in a short period of time.
Personally, I get bored when waiting too long for the couple to arrive :P

Nangyayari talaga yang sasabihin confirm silang darating but then surprisingly sa mismong event may magsasabi hindi matutuloy or bigla na lang wala. Ito ang klaseng situation na hindi natin macocontrol usually we have no choice for them pero tayo pa rin ang gagawa ng paraan to give solution on how to deal with this matter. Ang masasabi ko lang be ready and expect that possibility regarding sa invites we can be innovative for that na ipararating mo na this is important thing to do ng mga inimbitahan niyo.

Not wedding related yung sasabihin ko pero other occasion. Kami ng hubby ko sa guest list namin may first priority may 2nd priority then ilalagay sa invites namin yung deadline. Ineexpect na rin namin yung possibility na may confirm then sa event itself hindi dadating kaya baka at some point kami magtatanong before the deadline if they will come or not.

Usually ilan ba dapat iinvite kasama ng principal sponsors? Okay na ba yung +2, +3 or walang limit?

Depends on your wedding type.. Ours was intimate so spouses/partners were invited (+1).

we intended to have 150 guests which is really close lang talaga and those people are always present most of the times through thick and thin, may okasyon or wala, birthday mo man or pumasa ka sa exam, they will be there for you. Sila ang inuna naming imbitahin. Definitely hindi sila mawawala unless emergency cases, (touch wood).

Second, nag create kami ng event sa facebook na "invites only" and we put in there , "please be on of our chosen/few guests" something like that. Then "formal invites to follow". Nagconsider lang kami ng "plus" dun sa PS namin, so far one of our ninang lang has driver. So add nalang namin yun sa crew meal. The rest is ok naman to go alone.

Kaya we trimmed it down to 170. Masama pa sa loob namin yun. Hahaha. Sabi ng mama ko sia na bahala mag abiso dun sa friends niya. havent reslly settled on this part talaga. Kasi nag invite sila MIL verbally eh. Pano kaya yun. 😔

^ Hi sis Maxim04, as per our coordinator dapat daw at the very early stage of planning, always involve the parents of both sides. If you have still time, kausapin nyo nalang yung parents nyo regarding sa limit ng guests nyo and also, tell them na they can invite their friends but limit it. Siguro yung super close lang. Make them realize na what's important is the people you chose to invite since sila yung talagang gusto nyo maging part ng wedding day nyo.

Then after the wedding papakain nalang kami separately sa kanila.

Hope this helps. :)

Yun lang sis. Haha! Pero kung gusto mo talaga mag-trim down ng guests and if you think too much yung ininvite ng parents ni h2b, better talk to your fiance. It depends din kasi how will you deliver it. And it depends on the person invited if they are non-negotiable. Pag-usapan nyo mabuti ni h2b. :)

Hahaha oonga sis pogi02.
In a family there are 2-4 children. Sort of nakakahiya talaga. hahahah  :o
