The first time I saw Fr. Gani, masungit na sya. So bulong na ako kay fiance na we are bringing our own priest. Perhaps he has his reasons to be like that, but I prefer to have someone we are comfortable with sa wedding namin.

Good idea, sis. Actually nagtanong kami sa family friend na same priest nagkasal sa kanila. P5k daw inabot for their Manila wedding. Considering na mas malayo we are thinking P8-10k. Ok na kaya yun?

We checked with the secretary, there's no fixed amount naman daw because it is afterall a donation. But the fiancé "forced" an amount just so we have a figure to work around with. Sabi, 15k daw is okay. We're thinking of 10-12k siguro as that is the amount that we are comfortable with. I think 15k is too high, we're already paying 30k for the church alone. Ok lang kaya yun?

Yeah, parang mataas ata ang 15k. Ngayon lang ako nakarinig ng ganun kataas. Then again, stipends are generally not talked about naman.

Btw, nag canonical interview na kami kay Fr. Gani. It went well and I understand why he seems strict. Infernez, magaling sya in explaining a lot of things, maybe misunderstood as masungit since he is veryy straightforward. He just really wants to prepare couples for marriage.

A friend of mine is also considering to bring their own priest dahil ang stiff nga raw ni Fr. Gani. Naka attend na rin sila ng 2 weddings na si Fr. Gani ang nag officiate and things were the same. Strict daw talaga si Fr. Gani. Pero same yung question nila, kung how much daw ba ang ok ibigay na additional for the priest kasi wala daw sila idea. TIA!

If you are bringing your own priest then you do not have to abide by all his rules, yung basic church rules nalang.  But in terms of not having personal vows and the prohibited attire for the bride and the entourage... wala na yun.  Kasi the resident priest will no longer be officiating.  So better ask your priest ano yung mga restrictions niya.  For us, our priest said that we can decide on what we want for our wedding because it is our special day, he will just officiate the ceremony for us so he has no restrictions

Can anyone help me, i cant find St. Benedict's landline number online. I called 3 different numbers, two of which were Town's Delight. I hate that they manipulated online listings for the church for brides to call them up and so they can market their services. Shady!

Thank you, sis! And yes, i know all about Fr. Gani. Which is why we are already booked in OLLP, not to mention it is cheaper and closer to our reception venue. I just need to check St. Benedict because my fiance's parents are picky, and they want a beautiful church despite our reservations about St. Benedict. Thanks again!!

I'm not getting married yet but I live in the area and know of Fr. Gani's reputation. Medyo marami from Westgrove na hindi na doon nagsisimba and choose to go somewhere farther dahil may pagka-harsh talaga si Father. I, too, do not approve of his ways, but I'm sure others are ok with it. Siguro depende na lang sa inyo.

He will not be the resident priest effective mid-2015. I just cannot recall the exact month pero malapit na siyang malipat. 😊
