Better to buy HKD here. Why? 1) Mas malaki ang lugi if you go PHP-USD-HKD and 2) You don't need to worry about looking for money changers while in HK.

Hello mga sisterette.. We'll fly na sa HK next week.. And one of my biggest problem ito ngayon.

Went to BDO pra magpa reservensana ng HkD kasi nga its better to buy HKD na directly. Kasoooooo.. Naman.. I just want to rant.. Andaming hinihingi sakin ng BDO na mga effects. May justification pa daw bakit ako bibili ng HkD. Mga 30 mins na akong kino coordinate.. Ng sa hinaba haba ng mga sinabi nila.. Ang ending.. Di naman pala sila makakapag benta sakin ng HkD kasi daw hindi sila authorized.

Ang sakit sa bangs. Anyway, may alam ba kayong pedeng bilhan ng HkD na mejo mura lang?

Pasig aea, Cainta area, Makati area.. Dadayuhin ko makapalit lang ako. hehe..

Na contact ko na Czarina sis.. Nagpadala na lang ako ng HKd for pickup sa branch na mas malapit ako. Buti naman accomodating sila. Sa BDO dito sa amin.. Nirerefer ba naman ako sa black market. Susmio.

^Mukhang dapat mo sis ireklamo sila sa head office. Yung BDO branch sa SM North hindi ganyan, wala naman problem nung nagpa-exchange ako before from PHP to HKD.

We are going to macau-hkg this june with my 2 kids aged 9 and 5. Last time we were there was feb 2012 and we stayed at disneyland hotel lang. This time i am torn if sa disneyland hotel ulit kami or sabi ni hubby try naman kami ng ibang hotel na same price but with breakfast na. Medyo mahal kasi dun sa disneyland ang food! So tempted na magstay again 2dAys sa DL kasi para sa mga kids talaga pero sabi ni hubby why not try other places and other hotels naman. Any recommended hotels within the disneyland or airport area na okay ang food? Thanks

we booked Apple Hostel for our trip on June, fully booked na kasi ang golden crown eh..
I know its located sa Chungking Mansion,.. pero the hostel itself daw,.. ok na ok.. at licensed sila, in fairness to them

any feedback on Apple Hostel??

Just got back from HK Sisses!!

Can I just say, this is by far the cheapest travel I've ever been to (compared to my previous hk visit lol!)

Accommodation- booked this new apartment from Airbnb and it's just beside Prince Edward station. Super plus points. 30sec walk from the mtr. And best it's 2BR flat with sala, kitchen, storage & TERRACE! Overlooking Nathan road. Got this for less 20K divided by 7pax. So less Ph3k each! Saya!!!

Local transportation- get the airport express pass 1 way or round trip because that includes 3 day unlimited mtr rides! Grabe super Sulit nito sa min! If we didn't get this we might probably spending hk100/day!

Kaya ako makatipid because Hindi sale season ngayon as in wala talaga ako nabili except for some jeans in giordano which I got HKD199 2pairs na.

It's starting to get warmer na, we left at 22deg.

Btw, I avoid buying from BDO na because they can't guarantee the rate.
First you need to reserve tapos Kung ano abutan rate pagdating ng stock yun ang mag apply eh paano Kung mataas na yung rate nila? I bought mine at 5.90
Pag mga 5cents diff Lang don't even bother computing kase based on ph20,000 less Ph200 Lang ang difference nun so don't stress yourself saan Mura magbuy ng HKD:)

All in all I spent about hk1600 for my stay. How cheap noh! I realized I can be thrifty pala Pag wala shopping involved: just plain strolling, and feeling the cold HK breeze!!

Food/water: HK500
Shopping: hk1000

Ano bang mas applicable samin: Octopus Card or Airport Express Travel Pass (3 consecutive days of unlimited travel on the MTR)?

If you'll do lots of strolling then get the Airport Express travel pass but if Disney and OceanPark kayo you won't be able to maximize since you'll be there for the entire day!

Btw, airport express pass has HK50 refundable amount whilst Octopus has only Hk41 refundable amount. Yung express naman you can reload rin same as octopus card where you can use sa bus/711 etc.

Another tip pa pala:
My super funny tita brought with her hoards of cup noodles as in Lucky me etc, biscuits etc.
We were super laughing kase nga mura naman ang food dun, turns out it is so wise that way!
We just had quick brekky then brunch na next then dinner so 2x/meal na lang kami lol!

Super tipid plus nakakadala we wasted about 2 meals na hindi masarap! we just rely on the pics so never again.. Cafe de Coral nalang to be safe hahhaha.

Btw Disneyland doesn't accept MasterCard na pala. VISA Lang, napa cash out tuloy may cousin for HKD1,800. Fiy to those who don't have visa.
