Excessive shedding of dogs hair

My dog is a half japanese spitz and half aspin and he sheds a lot of hair. Everytime magwawalis ako ng bahay isang dust pan na puro buhok lang ng dog ko ang nawawalis ko. Any tips on how to reduce excessive shedding?

How old is your dog? If puppy pa lang magsheshed na siya ng puppy hair to adult hair. Pwede rin
Because of the weather. I am not sure if jap spitz are shedders but if they are well ala na magagawa  i have a gsd. After 2 years ko pa natanggap na nagsheshed talaga sila EVERYDAY.

kung hindi naman na siya puppy, usually, kapag boy ang alaga mo, once a year and kapag girl, twice a year sila mag shed.

i believe fish oil can help.

hi dr.thereal.joy 2 years old na yung dog ko.. I'm thinking dati dahil sa shampoo lang pero hindi kasi naka ilan beses na rin ako palit ng shampoo pero ganun pa rin. Well.. I guess I have to live with it.

my first purebred dog was a japanese spitz, grade 2 lang ako nun, mid 20s nako ngayon, she died 4yrs ago. pansin ko heavy shedders nga sila, as in mayat maya may lagas sa sahig. i agree, masasanay ka na lang sa balahibo pag tagal.

i agree with fish oil and right diet, i have a bulldog now, first few years grabe ang shedding nya, hawakan mo lang or madikit sayo ang daming balahibo. bumili pako ng furminator, deshedding tool sya. but when we switched to raw, laking improvement, nalessen talaga ang shedding. kahit ibrush ko sya, hindi grabe yung nakukuha ko.

hi abuanddiego maybe common talaga sa breed (jap spitz) nila and shedding? pa share naman where can I buy furminator? TIA!

^yup meron talagang heavy shedders, ang light shedders lang naman is yung mga humahaba ang coat like shih tzu and yorkie.

try online or sikat na petshops like pet express, dogs and the city, bow and wow, tiendesitas. few years ago ko pa kasi nabili yung samin, hindi pa sya available sa market, so sa online seller ako nakabili. Pero may mga fakes na kumakalat selling for 200-300, bought ours for 1k, large size sya color yellow. Ang alam ko madami ng new styles with push button for the collected fur, meron na rin choices for short and long hair, faced out na ata yung samin e.

Yung japanese spitz din namin ang daming maglugon ng balahibo. Parang 2x a year sya nagkakaganon.

^2x shedding a year is normal for dogs. brush the coat regularly para maunahan nyo bago pa malaglag yung balahibo

siguro mas tingnan mo kung may bald spots na yung dog mo. kung wala naman, baka normal na pagshe-shed niya yan at nagpapalit na rin naman ng panahon.

i agree, magworry ka kung may part na nakakalbo, pero kung normal shedding, lilipas din yan.

^ah kaya pala. okay lang yan sis, normal sa dogs ang shedding, basta healthy naman ang skin, walang patches, sugat, redness, bumps, rashes, parasites there's nothing to worry.

May labrador ako dati.grabe din maglagas ng coat.halos di ko na nga mahawakan kasi bawat himas ko nagtatanggalan balahibo.a friend told me to give fish oil supplement.yung gel type.mga 2 weeks siguro napansin ko nagimprove na agad and after a month kahit sabunutan ko pa sya paisa isa na lang natatanggal.tapos kumintab pa coat nya.

^hands down ako sa fish oil, kung supplements ang paguusapan, kahit alisin nyo na lahat wag lang ang fish oil. even vets ganito ang advice. it does great wonders to them, sa coat, skin, joints, heart, very helpful sya. Eto rin ang ginagamit namin for allergies and mange, ang galing nya within days lang may improvement talaga. Nawawala ang redness and itch at mabilis tumubo ang fur. Kahit kami tinatake sya kasi its anti-inflammatory, nawawala yung dysmenorrhea and arthritis lol!

Usually kasi puro omega 6(animal fats) ang napoprovide ng food natin, lacking ang diet natin sa omega 3(fish oil) kaya tayo nagkakasakit. pero once mabalance ang omegas giginhawa pakiramdam natin. dosage is 100mg of EPA&DHA per every 10lbs, increase up to 3x for therapeutic dose.

I forgot to mention na may 1 bald spot pa nga yung labrador ko before.di ko na nga pinapansin yun kasi mas concern ako paglagas ng coat nya.pero nagtry nga sya ng fishoil nagulat ako kasi may tumubo na maliit na balahibo.akala ko patay na yung skin na yun kasi blackish na.then later on humaba na sya talaga pantay ng ibang coat nya.ang galing!

^same experience. nagkamange yung dog ko, sugat-sugat ang skin at maraming bald spots pero within a week of giving fish oil, tumubo agad ang balahibo
