First check up, help!

Hi sissies! I need your help, I'm first time pregnant and I haven't told anyone yet except my partner, because I wanna make sure first and talk to a doctor.
I literally don't know anything about pregnancy so I depend on reading and reading.

It will be my first time again to visit an O.B after 5 years. Will there be any procedure to be done on me for first time check up? Because I feel kindof scared. And I wanna know how much will it cost me for the first check up? And how often do I need to see my doctor during pregnancy?
Can you recommend me doctors near Makati or Taguig area only.

It depends naman sis if anong procedure ang gagawin sa iyo ng OB. First visit ko kasi sa OB (that was 2 days after ko gumamit ng pregnancy kit and nagpositive), nagspotting na ako so in-internal exam ako to check if okay ang cervix ko, ultrasound to check kung hindi naman siya ectopic pregnancy. Php250 ang consultation kay OB, then additional Php 50 sa IE then Php 600 ang ultrasound. Mabuti siguro sis if may kasama ka bumisita kay OB.

When my husband and I learned that I am pregnant based from two PTs. We went immediately to the nearest hospital to confirm.

My OB made a request slip for transvaginal ultrasound to be sure. From transv, may heart beat na si baby, kung san sya nakapwesto, ilang weeks na sya and other findings.

First tri ko every three weeks ang interval ng checkup. Tapos 2nd tri till now, every two weeks interval. On my 30th week na.

Makati Med or St.Lukes Global.

Like sis GMGravity said, depende sa OB and depende sa case mo. In my case, walang ginawa sa akin, interview lang (family history, menstrual cycle, etc) and prescribe ng folic acid, along with the usual bp and weight check). About 5.5wks ako nun. She also gave me prescription for TVS for week after, plus blood tests. Then sabi nya balik ako with the tvs and blood test results. Bumalik kami after two weeks with the results. After nun, every four weeks na ang regular checkup. Latter part of pregnancy, magiging every two weeks na daw, 7th or 8th month yata start, di ko na maalala exactly.

Rate depends on your OB. St. Luke's QC ako, checkup rate ni OB is 500 (magi-increase na to 800 this month). For the tvs and other tests, you can have them sa hospital mismo or outside para cheaper, basta reliable daw na diagnostic center.  Rate for the tests will vary din, depends kung san ka papagawa.

My OB also has morning clnic schedule sa St. Luke's Global (except Tuesday and Sunday). I'm not sure lang kung same ba ang checkup rare niya dun. Minsan kasi the rate depends din sa location ng clinic (since baka mas mahal ang rent nya sa clinic space nya sa Global).

since ok naman ako noon, for the first few months, monthly ang checkup ko. nung mga 7 or 8 months na ako, every two week. nung malapit na ako manganak, every week na.

OB consultation fee, rate of exams and others is variable. Iba iba sya. Pwedeng mahal, pwedeng affordable.

sorry can't recommend any OB. my OB is from Sampaloc with 150 pesos consultation fee.

I'm a newbie here and I find this forum very helpful.
13weeks pregnant na po ako and Im 20. Working in a call center tapos yung boyfriend ko sa Jollibee.
We're getting married in May and syempre sobrang daming gastos. Vitamins, Food, Meds (kasi lagi ako nagkakasakit) and syempre personal needs since we're living together na.

Im just wondering kung kailan ba talaga dapat ang check-up pag first tri-mester palang, yung OB ko kase masyadong hapit. Every 2 weeks gusto Ultrasound and check-up. Nagpareseta lang ako dahil sa colds ko, siningil na ako ng 600 pesos w/o the medicine which is OA kasi COUGH SYRUP lang yung nireseta.

Hindi na ako nagpacheck-up from then on kase feeling ko hapit masyado yung OB ko, wala pang resibo na binibigay. Tsaka madami din kami pinagkakagastusan, hindi naman kami financially ready para dito. Natatakot tuloy ako baka ano mangyari kay baby kase hindi na ako nagpapacheck-up.

Tsaka yung ultrasound, tuwing kelan ba talaga dapat?

^ usually, me ultrasound sa 1st trimester, around 6-8wks, to check for heartbeat.

Then monthly ang regular check-up. Except if me special cases - like me sakit, me abnormalities sa placenta/baby/etc, high bp, etc - kung ganun, pwedeng gawing weekly or every two weeks na check-up.

Rate for check-up depends sa OB. Usual range is 300-1000 per visit. Usually tsini-check ni OB using doppler ang heartbeat ni baby.

Another optional ultrasound is at around 20-22weeks, Congenital Anomaly Scan and gender. Tsini-check kung ok ang growth ni baby sa loob, etc.

Another optional ultrasound is at around 30weeks - 3d/4d naman to.

I mentioned na these two - CAS and 3d /4d are optional, meaning depende sa inyo if gusto nyo. However, depende din sa status or condition ng pregnancy, some OBs may require monthly ultrasound, to closely check and monitor the baby inside.

Be careful in drinking meds, sis. Make sure they are safe for pregnant women..

nung nagbuntis ako, monthly lang ang checkup ko. meron akong record sa kanya; meron din akong pregnancy book. for every checkup, minomonitor ang bp and weight ko.

i had 1 ultrasound for each trimester. doppler sa clinic ni dra for succeeding checkups once na narinig ang heartbeat. blood sugar will be monitored also.

vitamins were prescribed.

Transviginal Ultrasound - ito dapat yung pinaka una mong ultrasound to check location ni baby, kung normal ang laki ng size nya, estimation ng labor mo, kung may heartbeat na. We paid P1,500 (FEU Hospital)
Blood Tests (madaming kind ng blood test to ah), Urine, P4,500 (FEU Hospital)
Reseta na Folic Acid for the whole first trimester.

For me also, once a month check-up palang. (Currently at 21 weeks) Then we switched hospital kasi FEU is a bit far and I wanted to give birth to the hospital near our place.

@Ayajesalva: Sis, you might want to change OB if hindi ka comfortable sakanya or of you feel tinataga sa ka presyo. Yes, you have to see OB for first trimester and you have to check baby's condition and get prescribed vitamins, lalo na Folic Acid, important ang first 3 months ng baby kasi survival pa sya and you have to support yhe growing kid. For ultrasound naman, usualy 1 per semseter and optional if you want Congenital Anomaly Scan and 3d/4d scan. Or if highrisk ka frequent din ang ultrasound. wag tipirin si baby sa needs nya. Kaya nyo yan!
