Hmmm... 8 years pa lang naman kami... and counting... pero parang ang bilis ng panahon...

I guess it's the everyday, small things which are the biggest things in our relationship.

Examples:
--listening to each other/showing interest when we're sharing something, be it about a funny YT video, an amusing thing that our child and dog and fishes did, happenings in our individual endeavors, individual struggles, etc. Nung naaliw ako sa vlog ni Alex Gonzaga, 2 videos pinapanood ko sa kanya...
--I can identify many of my husband's positive qualities on the spot. Yung mga negatives, wait for my PMS mood, marami ako siguro masasabi...
--it's easy for us to say thank you (e.g., kumuha ng baso), sorry, I love you...
--we make fun of each other like okrayan...

Importante rin yung mga non-everyday things... like
--we have common goals and values that we share (e.g., business, homeschooling, swimming)
--we support each other's individual goals and dreams
--we know each other's childhood pains and how to comfort each other when these get triggered at the present...
--we can effectively communicate and resolve conflicts
--low standards and acceptance ng mga hindi na mababago

ito pa lang naiisip ko...

^I can relate to your list, if I were to list my own, ganyan rin halos. :)

Thankful ako that I'm in a very happy marriage. 2 years pa lang kaming kasal, we still have a long way to go but I can say that we're off to a good start.

I share the same sentiments sis. We have everyday happiness and long-term happiness too. I feel like the long term goals ensure we have milestones to look forward to and put us both in a direction -- a common ground.

The everyday things naman keep us grounded and cheerful everyday. I appreciate especially yung saying basic things like Sorry, Thank you, I love you regularly.. we do that also. My husband is the chef - he makes breakfast so I get to sleep in a bit, then I make our bed, and do the dishes after. We thank each other for that because it complements our lifestyle. He loves to cook, and i hate waking early..when i was single, i used to just grab breakfast and eat at work, nagbago na because of him but i don't feel like i have a chore. We live in the US, so walang maid. So we found what we loved to do and what we didn't. I hate taking out trash so does it and I just re-line our trash cans. He hates folding clothes so I do the folding but he does the loading and switching to the dryer.

One thing I can say though is we do not have gendered roles. I'm not the cook because i'm a woman, he's not the provider because he's a man. We both have careers, so we also both have equal responsibilities at home. We basically find our strengths and focus on those, and complement each other's weaknesses. Nabanggit ko ito because I read the thread haggard wifey or burned out wife, or something like that (i forgot which) and that thread made me sad, angry, etc.. i'm not a feminist; rather, i see people as humans. Both work full-time careers, therefore the household is fair game too.

My husband and I don't have this problem, i would not have married him if so. We see each other as equal partners and have the same goals. If we see the living room needs cleaning, we don't wait because it's someone else's job to do it. Minsan nag-aagawan pa kame sino gagawa. He wants me to rest, and i want him to rest so naguunahan pa kame. I think what makes us happy is that we want the best for each other, and the best TOGETHER and there's no categorical definition of our roles in our marriage.

Agree ako sa lahat ng sinasabi nyo about sa mga simple gestures and things like saying thank you and everyday life kasama si hubby. 3 years married pa lang pero kung umakto kami para kakasal lang namin kahit may baby na kami. Cheers to us. Sana mamaintain natin to.

I'm so blessed to have a wonderful man. So eto, currently preggy and on my third trimester for our first child. And through the course of my pregnancy, never ako nastress. My husband has been so supportive, ini-spoil niya ako lagi. I can't remember a moment na sumama loob ko.
We're shopping baby stuff na, also looking for yaya and new condo unit para makalipat kami.
I really just hope and pray na maging maayos and healthy ang delivery ko. We cannot wait to welcome our bundle of joy, we have so much love to pour.

Cheers to all of us for having amazing husbands!

Those with happy marriages are husbands and wives who value their marriage and their relationship with each other.

Kasi in order for it to be a satisfying and fulfilling relationship, it has to be nurtured and well-taken care of by both.
And i notice that it is those small things, done consistently, (and ocassional big ones) that really matters. It shows kasi that your partner cares.

Cheers! Keep it up mga sis!

Happily married for twenty years. I give most credit to my husband. Matinong asawa, wala ni isang bisyo. He is a great provider-I get to stay home with the kids. Besides, we are each other's best friend. We have a strong communication system. Laging nag-uusap at nagtatawanan. Our sex life is still smoking hot ;). Our kids and I look up to him because he is an upright and a loving person. Totoong sya ang haligi ng aming tahanan.

Yes - spot on! Not that we need it, but it's nice to have this external validation -- these are signs our marriages are strong and happy and may we all continue to be this way (it takes work!)

So happy to have a husband who is equally committed to our marriage and future, and who dreams as big as i do <3
