^di distinct yung taste for me. Yun ang una kong inorder na Christmas drink since wala naman yung fave ko na Praline Mocha.

I'm eyeing starbucks french or italian roast. I've read from various sites that italian is darker than french, but bakit smoky yung french compared to italian? Wanna try french but i'm apprehensive baka lasang sunog? Advice please mga sis. which is your bet, italian or french?

italian and french roast are both categorised as dark/bold. my husband brews coffee at home and we tried them both recently. french roast daw is their boldest accdg to the baristas. as for hubby, both satisfies his craving for matapang na flavor. sa aroma nga lang nag-iiba but wala naman lasang sunog yung french, sis.

me too, sis. dark cherry mocha favorite christmas drink ko eh. parang black forest cake kasi. lol! too bad it's not a staple christmas drink daw. i'm gonna try to request for it minsan pwede pag may available na syrup

^ thanks sa reply sis. i bought french roast last week. super tapang ng flavor talaga. can hold up with a lot of cream, syrup, etc. hihi. try ko naman yung pike place this time. i'll try to see if i can drink i black. haha.

^ ^ sis adjust mo na lang measurement ng beans pag magbbrew ka. medyo kontian mo kung ayaw ng masyadong matapang. sometimes we add water too, americano na ang labas nya. hehe

Hi!

Bakit nga tayo na-eenganyo sa Starbucks coffee na kung tutuusin ay it costs a good bucks out of our pockets- whether you are a student, a regular housewife or an employee?  Even the likes of Coffee Bean or Seattle's Best (the imported coffee franchise brands) cost more or just as much as Starbucks.

There are other less expensive but equally appealing local alternatives such as Coffee Dream, etc pero mahal pa rin 'yon.  Para sa 'kin, hindi pa rin "maka-masa" ang mga coffee shops na ito.  Para sa ordinaryong mamamayan- mga ina, ama, senior citizens na nasa C to E market, mas gusto pa nilang bumili na lang ng 3-in-1 na kape at mag almusal o mag "snack" sa bahay o opisina kasama ang pamilya o ka-trabaho.

Wish ko lang na sana may commercial local coffee shop na just as masarap and appealing like Starbucks na appealing sa masa sa presyo.

I tried having a barista make me a drink that is not in their current menu, hindi gaya yung lasa eh so never bothered anymore.


Siguro kasi lugi kung mura lang ang kape tapos tatambay mga tao ng ilang oras na yun lang ang order?

may regular purchaser ba dito ng Via? tagal na rin kasi nito pero parang duda ako kung same nga ang taste so i never tried, pero nung minsan na may free sample sa starbucks booth, ok naman ang taste.

hindi ko type yung nabibili sa grocery na starbucks sachets, box of 8 ata yun. ang na-try ko is yung dark chocolate peppermint. ok yung dark choco taste pero kapos sa peppermint.

darating kaya yung time na ibebenta rin nila dito sa atin yung syrups and sauces nila?

mas gusto kong mag-order ng javachip (dark chocolate flavor ata ito), tapos ask for additional peppermint. for me ang bagay sa peppermint is dark chocolate instead of mocha.

^^ totally agree with this blog, sis. more than the coffee, it is the experience that they sell. I know people who go there just to simply get a breather from their hectic schedules; it's like a comfort place. the cozy ambiance, the friendly people, the warm atmosphere-- combine these factors with marketing and that answers the question. of course, there are also plenty of sweets lover like me. sugar rush!

thanks for this suggestion sis. i'm making cold brew with french roast right now. i'll try diluting it with hot water. pansin ko sumasakit tiyan ko with french roast. hopefully with cold brew, hindi na sya acidic for me. tried pike place by the way, masarap din, i like it black. 

lately i've been ordering lattes, maybe it's because maginaw sa office. i found out toffee nut is actually sweeter than peppermint mocha. so the latter is now my fave drink. haha.

Favorite ko yung dark choco-mint taste and I didn't know na may ganito pala. so, I agree that peppermint is better with dark choco than mocha.

ako naman I like to have a "coffee me-time" sometimes I do it if not sa starbucks, sa countrystyle. and my husband being a coffee person spends his coffee time with me ren.

Christmas cookie drink is kinda bitter. di ko type. 

when I had Christmas cookie (frappe) it was too sweet for my taste. Toffee Nut pa rin ako whether hot or frappe.

Chocolate truffle cheesecake is yummy. But i did'nt finish 1 whole slice kasi medyo nakakaumay. The best parin ang banoffee pie.

Sa mga plain brewed coffee, favorite ko talaga yung sa Country Style pero sa mga Frap and "fancy" coffee (tawag ng kano kong mgr) mas gusto ko talaga sa starbucks ~~ Javachip, Caramel Macchiato and during holidays Toffee Nut ♥♥♥

Madali lang din siguro na, madami branch, like sa Makati almost every corner meron.
 
And yes, tambayan talaga most of the time.

You're right, French and Italian roasts are dark roasts and are ideal for espressos because of their strong, bold flavors. For non-coffee drinkers or probably light coffee drinkers, these roasts can be too overwhelming (even with cream and sugar).

Parang iba na lasa ng chicken fajita roll nila, dati ang dami cheese kasi.  Signature choco ang lagi ko inoorder ngayon malapit na pasko

Ako naman for frap and 'fancy' coffee, I go to J. Co than SB. Cheaper, and yummier drinks! Iba na kasi lasa ng all-time fave kong Mocha Frappe the last time I went to SB.

Had a free taste of their Almond Latte (which I think is new), and I don't like it... parang may something alcoholic taste siya.
