Pa-join! I haven't tried waxing kasi masakit daw talaga. I'm just 17yrs old but I want to remove my underarm hair kasi mahahaba na talaga sila haha! I tried Veet pero walang effect sakin. Is waxing recommended para sakin?

^ if hindi naman makapal yung growth ng UA hair mo, at your age, i suggest na try to stick muna dun sa mga creams like Sally Hansen... baka hindi ka lang hiyang sa Veet, or may konting error lang sa pag-apply mo ng cream... however, if masyado mabilis yung tubo ng hair, or if makapal sya, then i guess you can go for waxing.. wag lang siguro madalas... just my opinion ah..

on the topic..

mga sis, may idea na ba kayo if open na yung Laybare sa Gateway Mall? and kumusta kaya ang service dun? TIA!  :)

sis relentless, regarding your question if masakit ba, depende yan sa tolerance level mo for pain and kung saang area ka iwa-wax.. kung UA lang (like in your case), in my opinion and based from experience, hindi sya masakit.. siguro nakakagulat lang yung initial pull, pero very bearable. kapag 2nd or 3rd time mo na magpa-wax, keri mo na..  :)

^ sa akin naman sis, hindi ako ganun nasaktan sa epilin.. pero i did not continue with it, kasi hassle yung preps in order to use it - like heating the wax, making sure tamang temp, the works! for the same price, magbabayad na lang ako sa waxing salon like Laybare, hindi pa ako mahahassle sa preps..  :)

^ hi sis.. few pointers before waxing - make sure that the length of the hair is enough. hindi kasi kaya kapag sobrang iksi. of course, take a shower na rin before waxing. aside from being hygienic, hindi ka rin agad makakaligo after undergoing waxing. you have to wait around 4 hrs before mo basain yung waxed area. if mababa tolerance mo for pain, you can take pain relievers mga 30-45 mins before undergoing your waxing session. if you'll have your waxing session done in a waxing salon, and if it will be a bikini, brazilian, or a package, i suggest you set an appointment with the salon.. and tell them na bigyan ka ng medyo senior na waxing technician para sanay na...

I always have my UA waxing done in LFi dito sa province... walang 15 minutes tapos na...
I think 250-280 yung sa UA...

Do's
- hair should be around this ---- long for easier and faster waxing
- don't treat your UA, like peeling oils, before your schedule.

Don'ts
- don't wet the area for 12-24 hours

@slickchick Thank you sa pointers. Siguro I'll have my first time sa waxing salon. Natatakot kasi ako magDIY baka mali pagkakagawa ko.

@gypske Anong province mo, sis? I'm from Pampanga pala.

Used to buy the Veet wax strips (yung ni-rurub lang tapos pilas), pero super nakakatamad. Nagpapa-wax na lang ako sa Lay Bare. Since 2009 yata, I think? Super happy ako na ang successful na nila and ang dami nang branches! Pero grabe lang, ang tagal ng waiting time kapag walk-in! Mas okay talagang magpa-appointment. :)

Palagi akong kinakanchawan nung wax technicians na magpa-Brazilian kaso nakakatakot, haha. Baka pag magpapakasal na ko. :P May benefits ba ang Brazilian aside from being clean down there?

^Iloilo sis.. try to get the name of the attendant na gagawa sa iyo...
if you think maganda and mabilis and pulido pagka gawa nya,
on your next session request mo na din uli yung same attendant.
also get her schedule for day off..
twice na nangyari sa akin na laging day off attendant ko so balik uli ako...

if di maganda pagkagawa, next session mo request ka ng iba...

remember din na dapat after waxing, more or less,
may plucking na involve-- this is for those hairs na di kumakapit sa wax
or super nipis at napuputol...

before ng waxing may papahid sa UA mo..parang nililinis...
during waxing, ask ka naman ng attendant if the wax is too hot for you...
may instance na pagpull ng hair, may konting blood...
after waxing, may pinapahid na antibacterial lotion sa UA...

Parang ayoko ng hot wax. Anong waxing salon ba ang gumagamit ng cold wax?

true. ma effort talaga yung epilin wax. but im an epilin user for 4 years now. one huge tub per year ;) thats only for the under arm ( i wax once a month kasi maypag ka makapal [textspeak!] underarm hair ko kaya dapat itanggal kasi obvious). it doesnt work for me sa legs, hindi ko alam bakit. for legs naman, i use yung mga diy wax , yung mga sugar and calamansi.. i tried veet wax strips but messy siya saakin.. yung epilin naman, you dont need any cloth, pag init mo, waitmo till cool down, try mo sa likod ng hands mo, kapag okay na yung temp, go na sa underarm, wait for how many seconds ( no need na ng any cloth or paper, let it dry on its own) around 2-5 seconds lang, then pull away na.. easy lang naman cya.. hassle lang ang preparation..
