Let me share my story.
I'm a first time human baby mom and is due June 28. 2014. Obgyn said the EDD could go until first week of July, so we are giving ourselves some time to plan ahead.
I've waited for this human baby for four years after discovering I have two ovarian cysts in 2009. Sadly, di kinaya ng medicines yung pagpapaliit sa cysts so most of my ovaries had to be removed in 2011.
I'm working as a travel journalist since 2008 kaya pwedeng sa stress related to work yung naging malaking factor kung bakit siya nangyari. Reproductive system talaga ng mga girls ang unang unang nasisira ng stress and I learned that in a hard way. Travel related work looks fun at the beginning pero if you are required to visit three provinces per week, and go back in Manila in betweens, nakaka drain rin ng katawan.
Fast forward 2012, nagdecide akong magresign sa work and focus on just accepting writing jobs online. To my surprise, nag BFP [big fat positive in pregnancy test] ako ng Nov 2012. Ayun lang, natagtag ako first week ng Dec 2012 since may tinanggap akong travel engagement six months before. It was too late to cancel at natagtag ako sa 8 hours bus ride. Hays. I bled Christmas of 2012.
Nung nag delay ang period ko ng Oct 2013, sabi ko baka the cyst is back and is messing up my system again. Mas natakot ako kaysa naexcite haha kasi sabi ko masyadong masakit kapag aasa pa ako sa pregnancy. Ayaw ko nang magdive deep na naman yung emotional state ko sa kaka asa. So I waited for three more weeks bago ako nagtest ng over-the-counter.
Not much help din kasi nakatatlong brand ako ng otc pregnancy test kits from different drug stores, puro faint pink line! Nakakasira ng ulo yung expectations hahaha.
Then di na nahold ni hubby yung excitement, bumalik kami kay obgyn para magpacheck. She's the same obgyn who took my ovaries out, and took care of me nung nagkamiscarriage ako. Ninang siya ni hubby.
Genuinely suprised talaga siya nung sinabi ni hubby na we are there for a pregnancy check up. So she immediately performed ultrasound and confirmed there is indeed a pregnancy at clear naman yung system ko sa any sign of cyst. Ayun lang, mababa ang heartbeat ni baby 108 lang that time, so she asked me to take duphaston. MAHAL siyang gamot, but worth it.
Nagstabilize ang heartbeat at nagsimula magshow ang mga signs ng pregnancy like morning sickness
Dun ko narealize na, Thank you Lord, healthy pregnancy na yata ito.
Now I'm 18 weeks and my bump is showing already. Yes, may dark neck and armpits ako so nagkaron tuloy ako ng idea na baka baby boy ito :] We live in the cooler areas of Cavite so sa tingin ko the climate has also played a role in gender formation. Sabi kasi nung teacher ko sa genetics nung college, babies conceived in hot areas tend to be girls and babies conceived in cooler areas tend to be boys. Sana makatulong itong information na ito sa pagdetermine rin ng gender ng inyong baby
