Best/worst country to go on a shopping spree

I rarely shop when I travel but that might change when I go to Hong Kong (it'll be my first time there kasi). I'll be there for 3 1/2 days lang and those few days are already packed with activities to do. Can you share where exactly is the must-shop area in HK for clothes? Para hindi na maghahanap

U.S pa rin ang favorite ko not only because of the outlet stores even sa mga nearby malls laging may sale and promo! Plus ang sarap ng first world customer service such as ang dali magpapalit ng item or pag may damage. hahahaha


Sa Singapore naman favorite ko mga warehouse sila. Lalo na nung Luxasia SG! GRABE! Isang buong parking lot!

From all my travels, I think Japan can be both the best and worst, depending on what your buying.

Never buy international brands there, it's gonna be at least 25% more expensive. Stick with the Japanese made goods like their make up, Burberry blue label, hard bound luggages, etc. The quality is always excellent. And customers are always treated like gods, as is should be. It's always a pleasure to shop in the stores.

Try niyo rin local Japanese brands. Spend a day inside Shibuya 109 or stroll around Omotesando. It becomes the best shopping experience when you have money and the worst when you can only drool on the racks, LOL

Not all place in the US maganda to go shopping.
Some States have have higher tax.
Clothes, shoes doesn't have sales tax at NJ and Philly. Florida have lower sales tax than NY. Massachusetts have no sales tax day.

Best: Japan

As one sis had mentioned, yup we were treated as royals every time we shop there. They bring your paper bags up to the exit gate of the shop/stall. And they don't mind if you ask a lot, try a lot, and buy just one or two.

Not really, though yes, may times na kinukulit ka, and some SA's will coerce you to buy the product out of despair. One time sa SM Megamall, I have wasted my time dealing with a desperate SA doon sa may tindahan ng Dead Sea soap na Aqua ang brand. It only makes the skin smooth, that's it. But the germs were still there in my skin. UGH.

The worst for me would be in China (flea markets) or any Chinese-speaking region. Peace to all Chinoys out there.

Best:  HK esp my fave local brand. Whenever I go to HK, I visit all their branches and I get a discount card right away. Haha

US, of course.. Esp when shops go on sale. Love shopping at VS for underwear

Worst:  SG.. Dito ko Lang na-experience ma-max out ang credit card lol and to think hindi mega shopping yan like what I do in HK. Since then I swore never to shop at SG, food trip na Lang.

Then again, I haven't been to a lot of countries

worst: Japan... I had little self control. And because the trip was my 30th birthday gift from the husband, I also used my birthday as an excuse to shop hubby just let me shopped! I hunted down Hermes stores pa because I was looking for a specific colour of Evelyn while we were boutique hunting, I'd get a scarf here, a clic clac there... and there... BAD!!!! Everything here was so much more expensive too. But in terms of customer service? Two thumbs up! They're super friendly!

best: I like my French luxury brands so I would have to say PARIS!!!! O.M.G.! Take me back! My kuya asked me to get an LV bag in Nice for my SIL, I wasn't meant to buy anything, wasn't planning to, but I came out with a wallet and a bag ang mura nya kasi compared to other places! So how can I resist Chanel store in Rue Cambon... ahhh my heaven and hell......... isa pa to. I'll skip the gory details

Best: US and HK!!!
Sa US kasi may mga premium outlets especially Orlando Premium Outlets. And talk about the 6.5% sales tax hehe kaya 2 balikbayan box namin puro laman mga pinamili lang namin doon hehe
HK naman ang mumura swear halos mapuno na yung isang bagahe namin sa mga pinamili namin doon pero some of their nationals dont speak fluent english eh.

SG!!! Mahal eh. Tubig nila S$3 pa lang hayz ..pero mura yung iphone nila doon sa changi hehe

I don't really shop when I'm abroad pero sa Myeongdong in Seoul, isang araw ako dun paikot-ikot to buy makeups and other beauty products, souvenirs, and Kpop stuff for friends. Ang saya mamili ng beauty products kasi lagi may free (like a face mask) kahit isang bote lang ng nail polish binili ko na worth P50. 😄

Then sa ibang stores, nung chinika-chika ko yung sales person like ask questions about their products, binigyan ako ng maraming freebies kahit isang eyeliner lang yung binili ko. Yung friend ko naman, marunong mag-Korean kaya natuwa sales person sa kanya. Mas marami pa freebies niya kesa dun sa actual purchases.😄 Ang nangyari tuloy is puro beauty products and other pasalubong ang nasa checked-in luggage ko then yung mga damit nasa hand-carry. Thankfully rin at mabait yung girl sa check-in counter kasi nag-over the limit ako pero di niya ko siningil. 😄

You're right about Shibuya 109, ganda ng selections and mas mura pa compared to brands like Kashieca, Bench, Maldita, Forever 21, H&M, etc.

Tokyo the best for me, especially the outlets for mid-range brands. I went to Shisui just to see the outlet ng Rebecca Minkoff; spent under 30000 yen for 3 bags with unpopular colours but I didn't mind because my clothes are mostly black, blue or grey.

Pareho lang naman ang prices ng mid-range brands sa Manila, SG, Sydney and HK when not on sale.
