Best/worst country to go on a shopping spree

To the shop-a-holic sissies, which is the best place to go on a shopping spree?

For me it's:

S. KOREA
USA (esp. L.A.)
THAILAND

...they're the best places to go on a shopping spree. Just my opinion, though. ^_^ Some are based on personal experience.

Depends on what you like. Singapore has lots of shopping mall, medyo madami lang tao. I love makeup and they have Sephora there so masaya na ko. hehe.

Worst
Australia - Medyo mahal mga gamit. Unless sa chinatown ka. Plus, ang aga nila mag close.

For me, Japan is the best country if you're going to shop for camera accessories... and err... things like the USB card reader.

Las Vegas is also a must-try if you're going to buy pasalubong like perfumes.

Best for me
 affordable cosmetics: S. Korea
electronics (computers/apple): US.  tvs/home ent: korea ( lalo during the weekend following christmas until new year, sale lagi sila)
personal care (bodywashes/lotions): spain. may less than 2 euro body washes sila na nice
during sale season: US(blackfriday) UK(boxing day until new year). spain(after 3kings, sale season lasts a month)
for food goodies na special: japan(nice teas, and even in their 100 yen shops andaming nice chocolates and cookies on sale)

Worst:
anything leather: Morocco. kung makapresyo ng leather goods sa tourists eh parang may brand ang goodies. Kahit genuine ang leather goodies, kelangan bang kapresyo na halos ng highend bags? in general sa morocco yung mga carpets at leather goodies eh overpriced pag tourist ang bibili, so not a good shopping destination

Australia: medyo mas mahal dito ang mga goodies compared sa spain and US but mura ang cheeses, hams and chocs so okay rin naman for food shopping.

From all my travels, I think Japan can be both the best and worst, depending on what your buying.

Never buy international brands there, it's gonna be at least 25% more expensive. Stick with the Japanese made goods like their make up, Burberry blue label, hard bound luggages, etc. The quality is always excellent. And customers are always treated like gods, as is should be. It's always a pleasure to shop in the stores.

^ Their sweets and milk tea = HEAVEN. Anything that is Made in Japan, that is what I recommend when going to Japan.

Their Kitkats are cheap there

I also agree with the fact that it's not conducive to shop for international brands there.

Based on the places I've been to:

Best: for branded shoes/apparel: Saudi Arabia --> tax free country so mas mura dito sobra.
Make up/local apparel: South Korea
generic clothes/shoes: Taiwan

Worst: Singapore --> for some reason I find it expensive here, except for the outlet shops

Best
1) U.S. ang daming outlets.

2) Europe kung European brands dahil mas mura dito.

3) Cayman Islands for make-up/diamonds/jewelries/perfume and watches - I used to live there, tax free talaga, fossil na watch mga Php2,500 lang when it was Php4,500 sa Manila. Cheaper din ang mga items na nabanggit ko sa Cayman than U.S.

4) Hongkong

Worst - Dubai, maybe I had a high expectation lang dahil sabi nila masarap mag-shopping dito, but when I went, wala akong nabili. Namahalan ako sa lahat, sa mga malls ang mahal ng US and European brands.  Kahit ang Dior perfume na nabili ko sa Dubai airport pagdating ko dito sa Dublin naka-sale ng 10% mas mura pa dito. My mother-in-law bought a diamond though, mukhang good value naman.

Thailand
Turkey - daming outlet stores sellling branded clothes/bags/accessories from Europe. Lamb meat, healthy nuts, fresh veggies and fruits are very cheap

Worst: Brazil  - very expensive country for shopping, even cost of living...but love the food, reasonably priced with its quality and warm people too. Still one of my favorite place on earth

^^Ako rin nadissapoint sa Dubai! Mas mahal pa sa Europa.  Naimagine ko tuloy antaas siguro cost of living dun.  Yung sale nila, parang di naman sale ang price

^ mukha ngang mataas ang cost of living sa Dubai. langis lang ang mura. oo parang mas masaya ang December sale or summer sale dito sa Europe. Mango at Zara sulit na sulit na.

Hongkong - kahit san kanto may mall at outlet stores... mauubos oras mo kakatingin ng magandang brands. Cheaper pa yung prices nya.

Depends on your preference pero ako I love the middle range branded clothes like Zara, Stradivarious, Mango etc. and I love European luxury branded bags so Europe for me. Lalo na sa Paris where almost all branded bags are from. Way cheaper.

I don't like Singapore. Maybe di lang season nung pumunta ako, but namamahalan talag ako doon.
