I accidentally ran over my child's cat (pusang kalye that she treats her own) while backing up the driveway. Cried the whole time I was driving. My daughter doesn't know yet. How do I tell her? It breaks my heart.

Apparently, the cat was mauled by another animal (my husband said it could have been the father, as feral toms attack the kittens to put the mother back into the heat cycle), and I didn't run her over. She was not squished and is still alive, but she's very weak, so we took her to the vet this morning. I hope she pulls through.

My foster cat died 3 days ago. He's been with me for 6 months and we have formed a great bond already. He passed while we were in the office. He was healthy and no signs of sickness that is why it is so painful for me to accept that he's gone. I feel bad as well that I was not there when he needed me beside him. The vet said it might be heart attack or heart defect. I don't know how to move on when everywhere I look in the house reminds me of him. I still can't believe that he's no longer with us. I wish he's just under our bed hiding and will come out once hungry😿😔

I've never really wanted to be attached to pets eversince my first duck pet died when I was in elementary. I took care of him, so when he died I stopped attending school. I was absent for a week, never stopped crying and got sick. So everytime there was a pet at home (dogs, birds, guinea pig), I would try to avoid them. I let the family take care of them.

Then early last year, someone gave me a cat. Half bombay, 1/4 persian, 1/4 Australian mist. He was 3 months old at that time, and the owner was so desperate to give her cats away because she couldn't feed and take care of them anymore. So I took him in. He was so tiny and weak and wouldn't eat well. I brought him to the vet and asked the vet to do everything that's needed to be done. I also checked him in because I was leaving for a weekend getaway. When I came back, he was healthier and ate more than he did before. I paid a fortune to the vet, and I didn't mind. I bought him vitamins and meds for maintenance and all the food I knew he would love. Suddenly I had a son who needed me. :) So he had been a part of my daily living. He grew really fast, like into a furball. Whenever I'd bring him to the vet he was always a candidate for obesity. He was the cutest thing on earth. What was heartbreaking was I had to leave him. I was moving to a different house with no pets allowed and I was on my own. So I left him at the old house with the people I know would take care of him well. I said I'd come back for him as soon as I had myself settled. I visited him every now and then. I'd send funds on a regular basis for the food and litter and vet fees. Then he died! And I wasn't there.  :'( :'( :'(

And then the same person tried to give me another cat. And I didn't accept it this time. It was too heartbreaking.  :'( :'( :'(

sorry about your pet. it's hard talaga to lose them sis kaya lang the joy naman that they bring to you sobra di ba? at least you'll have fond memories of them that later you canl look back on those times and not feel sadness but happiness that they were in your life for a fleeting moment.

First time ko magkaron ng pet dog na shih tzu at sobrang mahal ko talaga yun. Most of the time may pagkakuripot talaga ako pero when it comes to Oreo, lahat talaga binibigay ko. Kaya when he died sobrang nalungkot ako. Nagamit ko nga bigla yung leave ko sa work to think na never akong umabsent. Good thing yung boyfriend ko eh todo support since mahilig din siya sa dogs. I have a new pet now pero may mga times na naiiyak pa rin ako kapag namimiss ko si Oreo.

My kitty died recently, only 8 weeks young because of some sort of virus (vet suspects its FLV). Ang sakit  :'( To think new kitty palang ito ha samin ha but I cried over kitty talaga, called him my "bunso". Bunso was confined Thursday then Vet [textspeak!] me day after Friday morning na wala si bunso I was crying so much my supervisor told me not to attend the meeting nalang and my colleagues were offering me sweets and ice cream that day so I'd feel better.  :'( Kaya ngayon super alaga ako sa remaining furballs ko at home.

I lost a Shitzu once.. never want to adopt a dog na because masakit :( That puppy used  to greet me every time I came home from school. Our neighbor was poisoning his trash because of all the strays and our dog happened to be getting some food from his trash too :( :'(

As they say, time heals all.
Give time..time :)

Almost a week ago, we lost  our 9 year old lhasa apso. Like you guys, we treated him as our family - bunso.  He died almost a week ago lang... it really hurts, I miss him... tanong ko lang, did anyone of you feel guilty? I mean parang kasalanan nyo? I feel guilty kasi feeling I didn't do my best for  him. Haay , how to cope with guilt kaya?

We had 3 shihtzu's left.. I felt really bad na we werent giving (especially I, since I spoil pets and I only spoil my cats and neglect them) them the attention they deserve. We gave 2 away, who promise them a better home..

Our last Shihtzu died a few days ago. He was only 3 years old.. :'( I feel so sad and guilty.. :( For a few days, he wasnt eating..then he just died. :'(

We wont be having dogs for a long time.. :( I feel bad if a pet dies, I feel like..that was supposed to be one of us, but the pet saved us from illness.. We lost a lot of dogs to unknown illnesses :( They just..die so suddenly! :( :( They just seem tired and pass away. :'( :( :( scary!

---
also, my first loved cat.. has been missing since June or July.. I was so sad.. but I coped up by adopting another cat that looks like him :) Maybe, a good side is that, we were able to give another stray a loving home <3 (all our cats are strays and spoiled to death, kaya guilty ako sa dogs. di kase ako dog person) My cat family is annoyed by the new stray though. HAHA

I think there's no easy way on how to move on in life kapag nawalan ka ng pet. Since maraming beses nang namatayan ako ng pet, I know how it really feels.
I always treat them as a family member. Most of them are only adopted and I'm proud of it. I don't care if its puspin or aspin, because all animals have feelings too hindi lang 'yung ibang breeds.
I cried a lot during that night. Hindi ako natulog, hindi ako kumain kasi gusto ko lang bantayan sya and make her comfortable sa last hours nya. Too bad she was too young. She's a victim of Parvo :( :'(
Then my ChaCha (half Aspin/Malinois) died. Sunod-sunod sila. I can't bear to lose pets again.
Others CAN. and others CAN'T. Ganun siguro.
So if may pet tayo, ibibigay din natin lahat ng meron tayo just to prove that we love them dearly. When time comes na aalis na sila, we'll have no regrets because we gave everything to make them happy here. :)

just recently lost our beloved dog 'foxy' at 3:15 am this morning, na-heat stroke sya. confined sya for 1 day pero nag-swell kasi ang brain nya kaya sabi ng vet 50/50 chance. pero positive kami mag-survive kaya lang ganun nga ang nangyari. :(

just made me very sad i was not at her side (teary-eyed while writing this). pero happy ako to think she's in a better place now. i will just miss yung very cheerful na pagsalubong nya sakin pag-uwi ko ng bahay. and to think they get along with my pet kitten. :(

“The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not ‘get over’ the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same nor would you want to.”
― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Chingu, my two year old rottweiler passed away a month ago. He was smart, stubborn, funny, sweet, and very vocal. He was a member of the family and brought so much joy and warmth into our lives. I am still in the stage of depression. Pag uwi ko from office sumalubong pa sya so akala ko magiging okay sya kinabukasan. Inalis ko ang collar nya para malaman nya na we are letting him go. He's like my younger brother :'(  I am totally devastated and I am trying hard to cope with grief. And, I just hate the fact that our society often does not acknowledge loss of a companion animal to be a significant cause for grief. :'(

RIP my beautiful, good boy. I'll miss you knocking on my door every morning to wake me up. I'll miss your bark when I leave and return from work. I'll miss your bite whenever you want to play with me. I’ll miss seeing you wag your tail at the sound of my voice. I hope you are at peace, comfortable, warm and with a full belly. I’ll always love and remember you. Be sure to say hi to ‪Chiqui‬ too, remember it’s not a goodbye as I know I will see you again! With deep sadness and a massive hole in our lives, we love you always Chingu. T_T
