My baby drinks cold milk. One year old na sya and ok lang naman sya, di naman nagkasakit. And pedia also said ok lang malamig, as long as baby accepts it. Some babies kasi prefer warm milk, some naman cold. It depends on the baby.

When the fatty portion of my BM separates sa ref, i run the bottle under tap water to loosen yung mga kumapit na milk sa sides ng bottle, then swirl lang. Never ako gumamit ng bottle warmer, definitely no microwave. At most e i use warm water to babad for a few mins (1:3 or 1:4 ratio of hot & cold water).

I also use Avent via cups for storage sa ref. Though i don't pump directly kasi i usually either combine output from both breasts (for example, tig-2oz lang nakuha ko) or divide equally (example 3oz sa left, 5oz sa right - i store it na tig-4oz sa 2 containers; minsan 3 containers pa, depends sa output). But i feed using the cups, me adaptor naman para magamit yung tsupon ng usual Avent bottles.

Na papass talaga yung alcohol sa breastmilk kaya if you wanna drink you can pump and dump naman.

Actually, IMO, ok lang naman to drink alcohol in moderation. Sobrang konti lang ng napa-pass na alcohol sa breastmilk, and i think sa Babycenter or kay JackNewman ko nabasa na no need to pump and dump. Pwede nga to direct feed agad e.

I drink wine from time to time, a glass or two, as nightcap. To be sure, i pump before drinking. Then since tulog naman na si baby, next direct feed namin is about 2-3hrs after pa.

Simula kahapon trying ako na dumedede sya saakin nag lalatch nman kaso d pa sya ganun kasupsop worried din ako kung my nadede ba sya saakin kase halos hndi tmtgal ng 5mins sya maglatch. I'm a first time mom kaya kahit sa pag tamang position ni baby sa pag latch d ko alam if tama.

^^ sis, me wiwi output naman si baby mo? If meron, then it means meron sya nakukuhang milk from you.

Newborns are sleepy so i tickle my baby's feet to wake him up so he can get a full feeding. I wasnt even sure if there was milk coming out of me because i didnt know how to hand express at that time. I just rely on his diaper output.

Planning to bf my baby (EDD Jan 4 pa naman, pero nireready ko na sarili ko, hehe). I have question, pag nagpump outside house (no access to ref / freezer), san nilalalagay ang napump na milk (yung mga containers)? Na-spoil ba ang BM? Thanks!

^ You can bring ice/ blue freeze with you.  I'm not sure what they call it but it came with my medela freestyle. Everytime I pump in the car, i put it na in the baunan with the blue frozen thing.  It won't spoil.

Hi mommies. Hope someone can help me, we just got home after giving birth last sunday. The few days we were in the hospital, baby was bottle-fed kasi I underwent CS and had some complications. Kanina tinry ko sya ipa-latch sakin, she just keeps on crying. I don't know the problem, if she doesn't know how to suck properly lang or she doesn't want to breastfeed or what. Twice today I had to give her formula milk again cause everytime I try to latch her nagiiiyak at namumula na, nakakaawa. Nakikita ko naman kapag nilalapit ko nipples ko parang her lips make this sucking gesture, curled yung lips yun nga lang  nakanganga as in big O. I really don't know what the problem is. If it's her being used to bottle, how do I teach her to suck on nipples? Nagiiiyak kasi agad. I really want to breastfeed her. :( TIA!

Tummy to tummy. Pero pumping is not advisable until 6 weeks after birth.

Giving formula agad agad is a big NO. It will just cause confusion sa baby at malakihan niyang maging tamad mag suck.

Breastfeeding is all in the mother's mind. Kumbaga pyschological. To feed and nourish your child. 5 years after, still nursing my almost 5 year old daughter. Agreement namin until 7.

Please search Breastfeeding Pinay group sa fb. Pwede kayo mag join doon if gusto niyo. Maraming information na makukuha doon. Search niyo sa mga files nila.

@budzwhiz

if baby was introduced sa bottle agad, it is very likely that baby is nipple confused. during the very early stages of life, it is very crucial to introduce breastfeeding as this is the time na matututo si baby to suck and latch properly sa breast. if you introduce the bottle way too early, baby will never know how to do that sa breast. breastfeeding and bottle feeding have completely different mechanisms. babies are very sensitive sa nipples they suck on as well. ayaw ni baby dumede sayo kasi hindi nya kilala ang nipple. sanay sya sa bote na lumalabas agad ang milk. sa breast kasi hindi ganyan, baby has to do most of the work to draw the milk out. i only introduced the bottle kay baby ko when she's 7wks old. when her sucking sa breast is well-established na. first few days ko, nahirapan din ako. hindi sya makalatch, masakit maglatch kahit tama, iyak ng iyak. it's normal. nagaaral kami pareho ng method that works for us. eventually maglalatch din sya. lalo na kapag sobrang gutom sya, this is the 3rd day nya nasa bahay na kami, iiyak ng sobra sobra pakakalmahin muna namin and when she's calm enough na, that's the time we will attempt to latch her again until she learned how to latch and i learn how to guide her properly.

cs din ako, may post partum preeclampsia pa and this is my first baby. i was up and breastfeeding few hours after i got wheeled out of the recovery room. tiniis ko talaga. good thing she was not bottle fed sa NICU, cup feeding sila don kaya i never had to deal with nipple confusion.

maagapan pa yan, have a lactation counselor visit to guide you. it's better kasi if sila mismo mageexplain and magtuturo and magpapakita sayo what to do.

if you need a contact number ng lactation counselor, PM me. we have a lot of counselors available from Arugaan and other peer counselors sa iba't ibang area.

join breastfeeding pinays group in FB as well. i'm sure it will help you a lot.

Thank you sis airwaterfire :)

Sis Vans, bottle-fed agad si baby. Pagpasok sa kin sa room and when I woke up na feed na sya ng formula milk, meron na rin lata sa loob ng room pinabili daw kay hubby. When I asked the nurses they said I had to recover first.

Sis _AiaH_ thank you so much!! It's normal pala nagiiiyak si baby, and can take days til she perfects nipple sucking. Nabahala lang ako kasi everytime we would attempt to make her latch e nagiiyak, tas hihintayin namin tumahan and when we try ulit, iiyak nanaman. I don't want to give up on breastfeeding, the whole time I was pregnant, I was worrying whether I would have milk or not, cause I really have tiny tiny boobies. Now I'm leaking milk pa nga, something I never thought would happen and I'm grateful for. Kaya I really want to push through with this. I will search on that FB group. :) I'm here in the province up north sis dito ako nanganak, kung may ma refer ka someone from isabela big thank you.
Thanks again for the advice! :)
