Na try ko na magpa schlerotheraphy sa isang kilalang celebrity clinic. Ang sakit naman parang tinusok tusok lahat at ang mahal pa ng compression stockings agad agad binigyan ako di naman ako umorder hehe. 2500php

By the way spider veins lang yung sa akin. Wala din naman nangyari kahit magcompression stockings at ilang taon na rin ako natutulog na may 3 unan sa paa para elevated sya. By session din kasi ito hindi ko na nafollow up. Kailangan siguro talaga laser na ang gamitin. Any idea kung magkano ang laser therapy for spider veins? Thanks.

Hirap kasi talaga to ask quotation over the phone.  Kailangan talaga the patient will go for actual quotation and the smaller the veins, the more shots ang required.  Vbeam or GentleMax yung laser na gagamitin sana sa mom mo?

Hi sis, my guess is your mom needs a more invasive procedure thus the hefty price. Vein stripping siguro yun gagawin. Phlebectomy, I think is what she was advised to have. Sclerotherapy is rather cheap coz the sclerosant itself is an inexpensive solution. The only thing that hikes the price up is the doctor's fee. This usually varies on the experience of the doctor and the facility where it will be performed. Kaya nga meron sa groupon pricing sclero procedure for as low as 600 a session bec the chemical involved is very cheap.

As for the compression stockings, when I scouted among medical supplies shops, the price ranged from 1200-1600 only for the thigh-high type. Medical grade compression stockings na yan ha. Cheaper yun taiwan or Korean brand and the US-made ones go for no less than 1400. Im currently on the hunt for black compression stockings. I cant find any local seller but I havent been to Bambang in manila. This is reportedly where medical supplies stores abound so for sure there are a lot of choices there for the medical grade stockings.

From what ive read btw at realself where most clinical procedures for aesthetic purposes are being discussed, majority of the doctor respondents were partial to Sclerotherapy than laser. They hail sclero as still the gold standard for varicose veins management despite the emergence of laser technology.

Firstly, it's a relatively cheap and easy procedure. The success or resolution rate is higher as compared to laser. Ive read about laser having a higher chance of re-canalization bec it is not strong enough to kill the veins thus it is only recommended for tiny spider veins. Yes it is true that killing the vein is how sclerotherapy works and thus becomes effective. The vein being treated naman will not hamper circulation as we have an intricate network of vein(venous) system that even with olbliterating a network of spider veins, the blood will still flow back thru a lot of other channels.

Hi sisses! Up ko lang itong thread.. Dami ko rin visible na veins sa legs, ask ko lang kung kaya ba ng 1 session ng sclero yung ganito? Hindi naman sya mga naka angat na veins, manipis kasi balat ko kaya visible sya. Ang pangit tuloy pag naka shorts. And lately napansin ko sumasakit yung part na nasa likod ng tuhod ko and dumadalas yung ngalay. For others, dito madalas tumutubo yung mga naka umbok sa ugat, diba? Natakot tuloy ako kasi yung sa MIL ko, ang lalaki nung kanya. Sa derma ba dapat talaga agad pumunta pag ganito mga symptoms or may iba pang doctor na dapat tumingin? tia!

I frequent realself as well, and gold standard nga ang sclerotherapy not because the solution is cheap but because it really is the gold standard.  Most doctors are not eager to do it nga kasi mahirap daw siya gawin compared to laser.  Laser nga lang is better pag is smaller ang veins like spider veins @OD.

I want to share my experience with you all my VARICOSE VEINS journey. Notice that I made VARICOSE VEINS all caps because my VV are really big and intense! Haha

Im a guy btw, 28 y.o., obese and and OR Nurse so my work requires me to stand for long hours. I forgot when I started noticing my VV but I think I have this since 2010.
I'm now working in a foreign land and when I had my annual vacation last June,  I had this done. Since my VV are really big and bulging, sclerotherapy is not an option anymore so my choices are either Laser or Vein Stripping. I dont want any surgical procedure because the down time will just ruin my 1 month vacation and I dont want any scars so I opted for laser.
Through my research, it lead me to the pioneer in laser therapy here in the Phils, Dr. Monetmayor.
I emailed him and asked for a quotation and we agreed with 45k (for one leg) all-in including the procedure, stockings, 3 free sessions of sclerotherapy and follow-ups.
He is very nice and approachable, I must say. At first, he checked both of my legs with ultrasound for the blood pooling. Note that my problem is only my left leg and my right leg is perfectly normal in appearance before I went to his clinic.
So we went for the procedure. He only pricked a needle on the side of my left knee for anesthesia with a very small needle and he inserted something wire-like catheter up to my groin. I didn't feel any pain at first but when he turned on the machine, i felt a slight discomfort and warmth on the wire. As he pulled the wire, it became very uncomfortable and painful but very tolerable. After the procedure, he checked again thru ultrasound my left knee. I noticed that the veins in my leg and front area are gone but my big veins on my calf area are still there. He don comoression stockings on both legs. He instructed me for pain medicine and my follow up for my 1st sclero session for the visible veins.
For the first 3 days, I didnt feel any pain but after that, my groin area is really painful and I have a very difficulty in walking because of it. It kinda ruined my vacation to Coron because of the discomfort but I'm the one to blame because he told me to take pain meds even if it's not painful on the first few days. I only started taking it when it's already painful haha. The pain subsided on the 3rd week.
So on my first follow up, I told him that I'm really bothered with my big VV on my calves so he did sclero therapy on it. After a few days, I noticed dark markings, like bruise, on my left calf where he did the sclero therapy.
On my 2nd follow up, I told him my concern about the dark markings and he told me it will disappear. He didnt notice any VV so he did not inject any sclero solution.
He told me that I have 1 free session so I still have 2 more session with him that if ever I notice any VV, he can inject a sclero solution.

It's been more than 2 months and the markings are still there. I'm alresfy here in Saudi. The black markings didnt improve or if it did, it's very minimal I cant notice it. I hope when I get back to him he can do some remedy because it's really obvious and I still cant wear short because of this.

Over all, I love Dr. Montemayor's service. He eradicated all my varicose veins but the black marking is a let down. My journey with VV is not yet over with him because I still have 2 free consultation and sclero therapy.

Questions for all our gtalkers who had done sclero therapy that has black markings after, did it disapear? How long do I have to wait? What did you do to minimize it?

You can try Skin House they have treatment for Varicose and spider veins and they have good dermas.

Dun ko rin dinala mommy ko nun for her vein removal. Okay naman yung results niya, it's better nga talaga na aagapan mo siya agad bago lumalala kasi baka mas mahirap i treat.  With my mom naman halos matagal na bago kami bumalik. I hope this one helps
